I know he had his hand kicked pretty hard earlier in the fight, but I can't imagine that was when the finger came off. It might have done initial damage that made the eventual loss more possible, but a kick wouldn't cause such a clean wound like he had (google the pic)

I had the tip of my finger severed as a child and had it planted back on. My dad had of of the screen doors with the sliding glass. The glass was up and I was holding the door open letting the dog in and somehow the glass window part fell and was so fast it severed my index finger. You honestly don’t feel it at first. Even seeing it I just kept staring in disbelief didn’t cry or anything and was 10-11. My dad however almost passed out lol

I can pick my nose perfect 👌🏻😂 Mine severed at the top digit though right above the mid knuckle. So maybe almost an inch of the top of the finger. It’s pretty incredible what they can do tbh. Rashad Johnson of the Cardinals lost his finger tip in an NFL game a while back. It was in the glove when he took it off. He kept playing without it.

I wish you did takes on audience injuries! 👀 I have an epic scar on my palm from when I was about 1yo (I'm 33 now) and injured it by falling over while holding a tall drinking glass, landing palm-down. The surgeons had to open the cut further due to the nerves and tendons retracting. Would be great to hear an informed take on it, having been way too young to remember!
I'll save the story about how I got two identical scars on my knee in Bali, when I fell out of bed landing on my brothers OPEN ring clip folder which closed into my knee... To be fair, that time I was 6yo. And it was his collection of basketball cards.
Then there was the time I had my eyeball out on my cheek... And how I ended up with a backwards canine tooth... Ah all stories for another time!
    My poor parents!

When I was in Highschool, I had a classmate who missed classes like 3 days in a row after a weekend, and when he came back, he had his forearm with a cast and a surgery done to his forearm. When we asked what happened, he told us that he was running downstairs and that he fell, and he felt like nothing happened, just slid through the stairs, and when he stood up, he noticed he was missing his right hand ring finger. He found it right there and he took it with him to the hospital, where it couldn't be reattached. So they ended up removing some stuff apparently because it was needed. And for the rest of Highschool shaking his hand always felt weird, because his hand was too small now.
The point here, is that from his perspective, he didn't felt like the slide was too much of a deal for his hand to end up like that.

I saw a guy loose his little toe during a college wrestling meet. It was intermural wrestling so they let him wrestle without shoes on. I'm honestly surprised it doesn't happen more frequently in MMA.

He broke his finger in the first round.
The combination of the broken finger plus the pressure of him slamming down caused it to come off

  • @WyWid

Is it possible it broke before the other guy grabbed his glove, sort of like the straw that broke the camels back?
