- Raw underwater video from Michigan Sea Grant shows a tiger musky following and attacking a hookless spinner!
The tiger musky is a hybrid (female northern pike x male muskellunge). For more information on tiger muskies see:

Video was shot in a private lake in Mason County, Michigan. - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี
Attack is a strong word here.
I was thinking more like "scolds" myself, yeah...
Yeah, more like chilling out or inquisitively following lure...

Fish knew it wasn’t legit but still gave it a go. A cautious one.
Looks less like an attack and more like a "hmm is this food? no its not"
Tiger: wat dis? Thats no food . Am i being filmed? Something is fishy here 👀😂
Myself, and several other members of the local Muskies Inc chapter have had the Utah tigers just pound their underwater cameras. They seem more interested in the camera than the lure most of the time. We suspect that the camera is emitting some sort of electrical field that interests the fish, but who knows!
Nah, its more that the bait is following the camera so the pike thinks its another creature that the bait is hunting. Also electric baits barely work on pike 🙂
@@sageen pike and muskie hunt
Differently. Pike hunt by sight.
Muskie hunt mostly by vibrations I learned that yesterday when I dragged in a hog of a muskie fishing for walleye. It was dark as hell no way a muskie could have seen it
Both muskies and pike use eyesight. Muskies are just smarter and dont just outright attack. They follow your lure and stalk it. It can take over 20 minutes to get one to decide your lure is safe.
I thought that thing was gonna eat the camera, it kept checking it out
After having swam in my share of Minnesota lakes over the last 65 years, I have had muskies follow and get very close without actually striking my fingers or toes, seems more like a curiosity thing than anything else. But, I have heard of a handful of news stories in Minnesota where a "large fish" has nipped at little kids while they swam. If you've ever looked closely at the teeth on a muskie or northern pike, razor blades is putting it nicely
Nice underwater footage ...love tigers
I love their snouts- super adorable...
Foreal I wanna grab it with my fingers like a duck
They're smooth and slimy and heavy, but go to get the hook out that they swallowed and they'll draw blood. Then again this is probably what dentists experience.
awesome video!! Such a unique perspective. What type of camera are you using? I bought sypdro camera, but it teribal.
I live in Arnprior Ontario Canada , we're on the Ottawa River, I read a fishing magazine that said the next world record Muskie will be caught here in this part of the river. Between the dam in Fitzroy Harbour and Pembroke. About a 60 mile span.
I’m assuming the actual attack is in part 786,892?
That’s awesome, what camera are you using?
At what speed were you trolling??
Really nice mate, congrats! ;)
Cheers
These muskee catch so much fish that they grab bait very lazily, Almost as if they're tired from eating so much prey. But Once they're hooked they go nuts
muskie*
Wouldnt you? ...walking down the street or having dinner and a meat hook goes through your face? 😆
Muskies and Pike are the only fish I don't like to catch up here in Canada. They have attitude problems lol
How did you get it to follow you for that long
Seems like it bit lightly felt the hook and let go....smart fish!
@@ngoma read the description... hookless
Musky wanted nothing to do with the lure… He was after your camera!
I think the word you were looking for was "follow"
Such a violent fish! 🤣🤣
It’s about as violent as a box ful of kittens. 🤣🤣🤣
Fish be like…hmmm something’s not right with this.
How big do muskies get?
About 52 to 58 inches
@@adeadchipmunk7713 thanks
I caught on 54 inches in my pontoon kick boat he pulled me around for a little bit before I landed him
@@adeadchipmunk7713 72 inches aka 6ft is the biggest recorded and that's scary lol

Great video!
looks more like a Northern than a Muskie
How did this guy have 100yrs worth of line hahah?
Nice :) That's a face only a mother could love :)
Just keep swimming, just keep swimming....
Time for some live bait, he isn't fooled.
Looks like the pike is going after the camera!
It's a Muskie not a Pike. 😀
@@amylee3531 it's a Pike not a Muskie! Research it yourself and look at the patterns. Whoever named this video got it wrong!
@@amylee3531 same fish different color!
@@Angry.General1461 she's not going to research it. She's going to be an ignorant Troll and argue forever for attention!
Attack? More like stalking.
Absolutely vicious attack! To graphic! 🤣🤣🤣

So... You filmed failure?
Wish musky were in the uk😅
This is the most deceiving title ever. The Muskie barely touches the spinner. 0/5 stars and I genuinely dislike whoever made this as a human. I can’t properly express my emotions without cussing. Waste of time.
If the video amuses and interests many other people, would you be right to harbour such deep animosity to the uploader?!?
That's because people absolutely suck!!
Tiger muskie nibble
Run Tiger Run!!
