MJ transcends time. There’s only one Michael Jackson, much imitated, never equaled much less surpassed. He is the King and always be King.
For those who say that MJ stole or copied dance steps from other artists, first tell them that this is called influence, it is a natural thing to do with the artists of the 2000s who were influenced by Michael.
Another thing he wanted to clarify. Michael in many interviews said that he didn't invent the moonwalk, he just perfected it and took it to another level. Michael is responsible that today we know the "Moonwalk" if it weren't for him we wouldn't be talking about that dance step.
What no one can deny is that MJ created a unique and unrepeatable dance style.
I'm so happy that you said that! We are all learning from each other. Especially in music and dance. There is a path of development. In fact Michael influenced a lot of artists who later created music or dance according to his leg moves. He changed the whole music industry forever. In 1983 he was the first black artist who was added to MTV. First his song Billie Jean was declined. Michael broke the MTV color barrier. The way he pronounced his words with his own flavor and his own style and swag set influences for years to come and change music forever. They still do it in pop music today.
What you said is exactly right. MJ created a unique and unrepeatable dance style! That is to the point. I often watch artist who imitate Michael, but there is always something they can't do it as Michael did it, an in that way "unrepeatable" is 100% true!

I literally grew up on Michael Jackson's music and his movements. I'm a former pop locker so a lot of his moves were easy for me to emulate at my high school talent shows. This is why he was, is and always will be THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER that ever lived. I miss this dude! 😎

I grew up with him dominating the music industry by a landslide and his videos weren’t just music videos, I remember when thriller came out, I ran to the tv, the whole room was buzzing just before but when it came on all the adults stopped everything they were doing just to watch it.
The Moonwalk is my favorite.
There was no one like him and still many can copy him but never will him. We suffered a great loss by his no longer being here. Genuis, heart and soul was what he was!!!!
And respect. I watched that Motown celebration and when it was MJs turn to perform he started to take over the whole event. When he realized it, he deliberately toned down his act.

Michael was and he will be the best artist in the world. I like all his signature dance move, but especially the Side-Kick. I noticed that a lot of people are trying to imitate Michael's dancing, but there is really nobody who can do the "Kick" exactly like him. Michael is the Lord of Dance!

I was fortunate to see the Jackson 5 at Madison Square Garden in 1971 (or '72). Michael stole the show back then and he continued to be an exceptional performer until his passing. RIP Michael. Thanks for the memories.
He truly earned the name "King of Pop". (...and I've never even been a Michael Jackson fan. Never been a big fan of his music, but he had truly amazing skill and talent. He was an objectively good songwriter, singer, dancer and performer. If it wasn't Michael Jackson, I'm not sure who else it could ever be.
