One other type of blocking that i think is underutilized is cyclical blocking, where you block on alternating turns to win a 2 turn cycle. Block 3 cards + arsenal then 5 card hand is very powerful into decks that cannot utilize 5 cards since you can expect them to stumble after you block and you win value over the 2 turns. Especially can be powerful in some limited formats
I've always loved doing this vs block-happy classes like guardians, and hatchet warriors. So fun watching them trying to squeeze out barely 11 value from their 4-5 card hand while I wait for my powerspike cards
Great stuff. Love the value aspect of the game and when it’s valuable to hold your card or not. A lot of other videos explain blocking and value but overall, not hero specific etc
Glad it was helpful! There's a deep dive on hero-specific value somewhere, but it would be a lot of work to come up with enough examples and game states that get a point across. "It depends" describes so many blocking scenarios.
Absolutely! Vanilla damage doesn't trigger that same level of threat assessment. I've taken damage from textless attacks that I would've blocked out from an on-hit, then realized that taking damage is exactly what I wanted to avoid.
Great video. You explained concepts in clear and concise ways, and this is going in my “send learning players” folder.
Glad it was helpful! FaB is seeing an influx of new players, and I'm going to work more at creating content more targeted toward their needs!

This is a great point! I don't think about it enough outside of obvious use cases like playing Cast Bones against Victor.

this was great
I'm very glad you think so!
I've always felt like blocking raw damage was harder than dealing with on-hits
