Honestly, I like your take even if the comment section seems to just piggy back on what other reviewers are saying. I've read posts in forums of owners of this car who say this car is neither comfortable enough to be a true GT, nor is it sporty and sharp enough to be a supercar/sports car. So in the end, it tried to be too much and does nothing well. And aside from the exterior looking amazing, it really loses in all other aspects to the 911 Turbo S in trying to be a "Super GT". And there's also AM's questionable reliability and depreciation problems.

As with many first editions of many cars, being the first owner isn't always the best option. Being an owner of a used version is probably best or wait until the manufacturers sorted out the launch issues.

I agree with you. Doesn't sound as good as a Lexus LC500, not as fast as an AMG GT and the price is ridiculous, heck is way more expensive than a Ferrari Roma. Depreciation will be brutal too. I guess you only buy this car because it's expensive and you want to flash your friends you have $350k to waste on a car.

The beeping is supposedly the lane departure system from another view that I saw. It can be turned off but you have to dig to shut it off every single time you get in the car.
I think you misunderstood the car, the DB12 is a grand tourer as such it/s designed to be responsive but not as razor-sharp or aggressive as a supercar. The focus is on stability and comfort rather than track-level cornering abilities.
He's criticism about the interior quality and steering weight are right. Thats important for a car of this class. He doesn't criticise the performance otherwise, he says it's not his thing and that's perfectly reasonable.
The only issues with this car are the price and expectations. You're asking for it to be the new Vanquish and the new Vantage all at once. They are segmenting the lineup to try and differentiate all three models and the DB12 makes perfect sense, right in the middle between the sports car and the grand tourer. I agree that it would be very nice to have NA V12 MT as an option on all three models. But the fact that they didn't go Hybrid is already a HUGE WIN.

I’m not mad at the review. I actually like the design of the car and fine with the engine. Those build quality issues and that 2016 looking infotainment center is not acceptable in 2024 even for a 100k car!
Miles, overall an accurate review, but I think your underwhelmed experience of the drive carried over to other aspects of the car. The interior is at another level beyond other manufacturers, including Bentley. It is a very nice place to be. I agree with the driving and steering feel. A better option is not the Conti GT but the Porsche Panamera Turbo S models. Real boot space, real back seats, and better steering feel. It is more rewarding when you push it too. Then even better again for pleasure are the Ferrari FF and GTC4Lusso. The FF is the true Supertourer. Add that there will be no depreciation and they are very attractive cars.
Saying the infotainment isn’t good enough sounds fair Saying they didn’t bother to put in the effort doesn’t. The thing is a ground up effort… that’s a lot of effort no matter where they ended up…
It feels like the comment section didn't watch your review.... If this car where in the 100s, i think it would be in the conversation, maybe high 100s given the price of M3s these days. Yeah, I don’t think I have ever heard that a hand built AMG engine is something you are “stuck with”. Did you get into a fight with your girlfriend that day? Aston Martin is a grand tourer. It is not a sports car. Have you tried sitting in the back seats of a 911 or any sporty 2+2? They provide room for luggage and seat adjustment and maybe small children. Still, I’d much prefer a 2+2 than a 2 seater. You can’t seriously pretend that a hard to open door is normal. You obviously had a pre production model and you knew it. I don’t think many owners of a touring car will be racing 16 year olds at stop lights, but by any normal measure, it’s a fast car. It’s also beautiful, something a Bentley isn’t. And hand built. And a unique combination of part Rolls Royce, part Ferrari. They are very expensive to produce and buy. I wouldn’t justify the cost, but I am not buying a new Rolls Royce either. I kind of think they aren’t for people who can’t afford a $300,000 car, right? I do respect the fact that you described your experience as you saw it and didn’t hesitate to let your true feelings known. I think you need to find an actual production car and a curvy ocean road and try it again. Oh, BTW, something you refused to mention, the Bentley Continental GT convertible starts at $267,000, $2,000 more than the base price I’d a DB12 volante.
My philosophy is either don't have tech in your car, or have it and do it well. We don't need to make up excuses for these brands anymore. It's not difficult to have a high resolution infotainment display in your car.
Very interesting review. It's utterly gorgeous. That said, I agree for the money you'd expect more. The driver's door getting stuck, the flimsiness of the handle, and the loose speaker makes me wonder if this car had been roughly handled, say during transportation. Was the speaker in the passenger, and the passenger door handle similar?
Miles, I love your channel, but review an Aston Martin shouldn't be all about power and how it can go around a track, it's about sophistication and the elegance of driving it😅
Hey Miles, great review of the DB12. I have to admit, as a British Aston Martin fanboy, You've made good points about the car's issues, its poor build quality, and the mediocre driving experience. The car still looks stunning, and at least it's not electric! Maybe it's my age (50), but it's sad to see Aston Martin following the trend of making cars that aren't as unique as they used to be. Do you think there's any hope for people like me who yearn for the days before "driver aids" and "sports modes"? 😃
I respect you for calling it the way you see it. (Yours might be the most negative review I've seen for any DB12.) I personally prefer the coupe variant of the DB12. The prices are for the James Bonds' of the world, or their sponsoring governments. I honestly cannot imagine spending $350,000 on that. Fit and finish does look a bit iffy. And random beeping needs to go away in general...every safety system needs to have its "voice", I guess.
The reason why Aston Martin is struggling is because they don't know who they are selling it to. The Lamborghini Urus - a glorified Q8 which is a glorified Touareg was successful because it targeted specifically the Onlyfans Thot market. The DBX - the aston SUV failed to capitalise on anything like that, thats why the company is struggling. The DB12 is a nice car, but there are better cars out there. If you want a british grand tourer then you get a Bentley which has a german engine like this has. If you want something more sporty you end up with a Lambo/ferrari
It’s noteworthy that when the car is demonstrated in a pristine, glass encrusted room with an Oxford accented British salesperson it really comes off as an amazing way to impress people. In a parking lot with a regular guy in a t-shirt you start to notice the rather - ordinariness - of the car. It’s still a cool looking car and no doubt it’s a fun car to drive but there is a definite ‘British’ quality. By that I mean you can just tell the electronics are going to be an issue, the quirkiness will evolve into annoying traits. Great review but I wouldn’t expect any paid product placements in the near future, Miles!
There’s always a “complainer reviewer “ that tries to get as many views as possible by having a “different opinion” Complaining about the backseat and price and “beeping” is as lame is it gets. Aston buyers don’t care about $50k just as much as they don’t care about backseat size (which they use for their Gucci bags). No, we didn’t hear the beeping and absolutely everyone have given this vehicle a huge round of applause. Thumbs down to the creator of this video.
OMG, LOL sorry I don't know what he is talking about as for the interior and why did you buy it if you are looking for a pure sport car? Yes, of course it is not for 4 adults, that is something you should know before buying. What is beeping I am not sure but you can turn it off if it is about speed. Sorry, but the experience in any AM is not like as described. This is not an opinion because most of what he says doesn't exist in other DB12.
he’s a car reviewer, he did not buy the car, and explains that it is probably a pre release model. also i have not seen a popular youtube car enthusiast not comment on the backseat of any car that has back seats. have you ever seen doug demuro? he’s about 6’4 (and lets us know all the time 😂) and sometimes him attempting to fit in the rear seats of a coupe is the best parts of his reviews lol. matt watson too😂
@@aintpace Actually, many of them comment on the back seat that I watched, also it is a common knowledge or should be especially for any reviewer that the back seat of any of these cars are at best for children or for a 5 minute ride for an adult. Sorry, I have not watched him before so when he spoke about the speakers etc I thought it is a car he lives with, especially describing the beeping sounds etc. Anyway, I have a DBX 707 and I owned a vantage and never experienced anything like he described. Anyway, have a great day.
It's possible that he got a lemon (given that most other reviews don't share the same concerns or criticism) but there's no excuse, build quality for this price should be far better even for early release. He's right to point out these problems.

Just to let you know. This is not a super car. It's a super GT. It's a different kind of breed
Miles, i love you
But driving an Aston Martin and complaining about the resolution of carplay is kinda missing the point in my opinion
There is no excuse for a brand new car that costs $350k to have worse tech than a 5 year old kia.
Yep
Handmade + Precision are usually not compatible.
Whats its school zone performance
Give Me 2025 Aston Martin Vanquish. I Can Dream, Can't I? (smile)
lotta hurt fanboys in the comments for this rushed 100k car being sold for 350k. Rolls, Bentley, Merc and BMW offer better for less.
I expected as much
Miles, I love your channel, but review an Aston Martin shouldn't be all about power and how it can go around a track, it's about sophistication and the elegance of driving it😅
It’s just not your Bro… but it is pricey
Bet the beep is the new EU mandated anti-speeding engine mod
Hey Miles, great review of the DB12. I have to admit, as a British Aston Martin fanboy, You've made good points about the car's issues, its poor build quality, and the mediocre driving experience.
The car still looks stunning, and at least it's not electric!
Maybe it's my age (50), but it's sad to see Aston Martin following the trend of making cars that aren't as unique as they used to be. Do you think there's any hope for people like me who yearn for the days before "driver aids" and "sports modes"? 😃
I think the new Vantage should he much more my speed. Not sure if they'll let me have a go after this review. But I'm gonna try!
@@CarswithMiles 🤞🏾 for you!
A blip of the British accent 😂👌🏽
The reason why Aston Martin is struggling is because they don't know who they are selling it to. The Lamborghini Urus - a glorified Q8 which is a glorified Touareg was successful because it targeted specifically the Onlyfans Thot market. The DBX - the aston SUV failed to capitalise on anything like that, thats why the company is struggling.
The DB12 is a nice car, but there are better cars out there. If you want a british grand tourer then you get a Bentley which has a german engine like this has. If you want something more sporty you end up with a Lambo/ferrari
do bentley conti gt next.
That binging annoyed me smh
This is a SHOW car, not a GO car. Older men/women driving from bank to bank to count their money are who buy these types of cars.
2:26 bentley continental gts ??? ! What the heck is that ?there is no bentley continental gts ! We have gt and gtc but no gts !

:)
I Mean I dont like the ford v12 im more happy for the v8 and still better than inline 4 cylinder engine with electric motors
Thanks! I definitely don't either 😂
Is this when Ford owned Aston Martin?
Why are you ghosting people on Teams to complain about a car you have no business driving
There’s always a “complainer reviewer “ that tries to get as many views as possible by having a “different opinion”
Complaining about the backseat and price and “beeping” is as lame is it gets.
The back seats are where you put your bags... I have a 911 Turbo Cab...same issue..
Buy Ferrari Roma instead ($240k in the USA).
Pre production
Nope
Show us the car then
Just watch the latest Vanquish going around the Nürburgring, it’s even worse than the DB12 as the Vanquish cries like a baby as the tires go screaming around every corner trying to hold its over bloated weight from sliding into the guard rail. Just terrible.
It's a GT not a track car. If you drive a GT on track you've missed the point of the car.
people not understanding the car lineup lol
It’s a amazing GT not a Supercar
The REAL MILES PER HOUR in my book
Watching from Ottawa Canada 🇨🇦
Love your reviews bro.
Thanks for the honest review, the way British journalists have been glazing Aston recently is annoying.
I see plenty of American journalists doing the same . And why not ?
It's NOT a super car. Know what you are reviewing before you review it.
I’m sorry the style is outdated old looking get the new GT 63
I know right? There's something better car for u like hellcat and
This is my car .. believe me this not a car for you …. Try a lambo or a porsche Gt 3
I think I'd rather go for a Continental :)
15 minutes of reviewer talking is too long....
This is a grand tourer. You should try and get your hands on the new Vanquish.
For what? The build quality is crap on both cars.
@@bigmacdaddy1234 We can't possibly know that since it hasn't been released yet.
