Monsters Inc is one of Pixar's classic animated films in the early 2000's, Mike Wazowski, Randall, Sullivan, Sully and all the other crazy characters are super funny
#monstersinc #reaction #movie
If you look into how they designed the characters, Sully went through so many different and grotesque looks until they finally landed on the final version. While Mike remained virtually untouched throughout the whole process.
He was perfect day one, that's why he gets bitches
Peak character design
Ball
There's no way to improve what's already perfect
@jamesolszewski3782 no he has no arms he only had legs
The gag of Mike's face/ entire body being blocked by something is still of my favorite visual gags
Always followed by 'I can't believe it...'
My son
The best part is that it continues TO THIS DAY!
Blu-Rays for this & "University"? Store stickers advertising low prices!
His figure in "Disney Infinity"? The box has art, but a random sticker on the plastic covers the toy!
Play Station magazine featuring their appearance in "Kingdom Hearts III"? A bubble advertising their "22 PAGES OF REVIEWS"!
Disney+ has to treat him better at le- NOPE, you end a Pixar movie, & while recommending "Monsters Inc" next, the screen shrinks down right over Mike's face next to Sully!
So yeah, best running gag of all time, makes up for the fact they didn't follow through on the Rule of Three in the movie itself. XD
Yet, every time Mike is still so hyped just to be included
It's so good that Monsters University retroactively made it an unintentional show of character growth since Mike wanted to stand out when he was younger. It's funny that his face gets covered, but he's content that he's onscreen and doesn't complain about it.
Honestly Mike spending months digging through shredded doors and wood shards to rebuild Boo’s door for Sully goes beyond friendship. That’s some true love right there! Mike truly is the best!
not only digging to find but he straight up had to do woodworking. where did he get the know how and equipment besides glue to put a door back together? and put together to the point where it can still work as a portal. that’s skill
I’m sure that’s what Brothers would do for each other. Mike and Sulley basically have this brother figure relationship.
@@unclebug35 He probably learned how to do it in college. Remember how one of his classes in the prequel to Monster’s Inc was literally how the scare container was designed and how it functions? Well, somebody’s gotta make the doors, too. They probably all learned about how doors are made and woodworking to an extent in order to make doors, and Mike probably just learned a bit extra about woodworking and borrowed some tools from a coworker.
Edit: I actually remember that near the end of the movie, Mike goes through this experimental door that the woodworking class was making. They had to make a door for a final project and were pissed that Sully and Mike essentially had their door cordoned off and they would have to start all over again. Clearly they get hands-on experience in that class with woodworking and how the doors function, and Mike (as Sully’s assistant) probably took that class once he came back to Monster University after being expelled for the semester.
The toddler who voiced Boo couldn't get any lines right, so they just let her run around the studio, chasing her with a microphone and splicing the random noises she made in the editing room.
Aww! That's so cute!
Why didn’t they just hire a different kid
cant fake realism, i guess, or they figured same issues with any other toddler. @@MsBossLadyLola
What._.
@@MsBossLadyLolatrue
I think a really scary detail in this movie is the fact that Waternoose saying “I’ll kidnap 1,000 children before I let this company die” as well as things like the pictures of the kids being taken definitely not in their bedrooms, there’s an implication that Boo was far from the first child to have been kidnapped by him.
This idea is also supported by the fact that the secret bunker was supposed to have small, child-sized cages in some pieces of concept art.
Oh god, that's horrid!
To be fair, the kid's pictures are regular in this world, you can see it in MU. I imagine they can rip them from parents computers or something.
I think the sequel prequel is fairly underrated. It’s one of those few prequels that doesn’t ruin or change the characters for no reason but actually fleshes them out while also having a mature and complex message. It doesn’t quite live up to the original but I think it’s also (for the most part) very good and worth a try.
Strong agree. Monsters University is my favorite movie.
I liked it more than the original as a kid. I think the only reason people didn't like it was because of the annoying side characters but I can't get over the message of "sometimes you're not fit to do certain jobs" especially considering it can easily be taken as an allegory for many things. for me personally, I like to think of it as a disability allegory as I'm physically incapable of doing jobs I want. Hard work won't change that, I just have to find another path in life, y'know? I also really like the "gifted kid" plot with sully, that when he actually had to put in work, he did a bad job because he was handed things his whole life. The fact that he had to learn to be better, learn to work hard. It's a lot for a "children's film" and that's why I always prefer pixar films. (If I said anything wrong about the movie, let me know. I haven't seen either in a while)
@@Shlaps I personally loved the side characters, but I strongly agree with everything else in your comment. I love how inspiring yet realistic this movie was. I know that's weird calling a movie about literal monsters realistic, but Mike didn't exactly get his dream in the end, he became a canner, or whatever they're called, but he still had the passion at becoming the best at what he does and that's inspiring. To keep wanting to rise above even though you keep getting knocked down.
Mike in this movie is so freaking realistic
agree i actually prefer it over monster inc
Boo beating up Randall and showing her inner monster warms my heart on a whole new level as an adult.
This movie is a comedic goldmine, yes, but scenes like this show it's also an emotional powerhouse. This scene really stuck with me as a kid, and now I know why. I felt bad for Boo being so scared, and bad for Sully realizing how much scaring affects kids, the moment he realizes he is a monster.
You know a movie is wholesome when not even Spilling the Milk can ruin the ending
Sully: Leave Boo alone."
Waternoose: "Can't. She's seen too much."
Jack: "She's like 2."
True, but this is definitely one of those memories that will stick with her for a lifetime.
Idk if someone already said it here but fun fact!!
Boo wouldn't sit down to do the voice acting so the people actually followed the actor for boo around to get the voice. She was actually a toddler in real life and the movie.
I love the irony that Mike's face is seen on a piece of media at the WORST possible time with the newspaper
Another memorable thing from the movie is the appearance of Sully and Mike at the 2001 Oscars as they actually animated them in the audience along with shrek, donkey, and Jimmy Neutron with different animations for winning or losing the award which shrek won.
“He’s a f***ing asshole!”
When has that EVER stopped you from thirsting?
Being so used to the two eyed Mike that the one eyed Mike seems weird is such a mood
I haven't seen this movie since I was 10 (currently 20) and can still quote basically every line
I'm 19. I watched this movie last month.
But can you do Mike's yeowl of pain?
I'm 16 but I rewatched this movie till the DVD scratched to shit and it won't play further than the first scene
@@FuryMcpurey Fun Fact: Pixar wanted Billy Crystal to voice Buzz Lightyear, but he said no for some reason??? Billy completely regrets turning down the role, so Pixar gave him a second chance with Mike.
I could consider this one of the best Pixar movies ever, my childhood movie and the whole story of Monsters having to have lives by having any energy of screaming children while it does sound horror at first, yet at the same time, having those that can show laughter at the very end makes it a good ending, Even the relationship with Sulley and Mike Wazowski It's such a strong friendship, especially having their full attachment to a human child, Boo. Sweetest thing that you'll ever see in a Pixar movie.
i see you in ever video i watch
Speaking of Steve Buscemi and 9/11, heres a heartwarming fact. He actually had prior experiences being a firefighter in NYC and volunteered to help his local firefighters to help rescue people from the rubble. A guy like that gets a huge amount of respect!
2:31 I agree with Kor, I don’t care how evil Randall is, he has a cool design. Him, Roz, and Waternoose had the best designs.
Pixar classic right here. John Goodman and Billy Crystal voiced the main characters the best.
6:47 EDP part got me busting laughing lol
And 16:12
Dude that part caught me off guard
13:20
I always loved that expression Sulley has. He’s like “Yeah, I’m not gonna get involved. Just do your own thing”
Top 5 of my favorite Pixar movies.
My brother would play this on repeat for my toddler nephew. That kid has good taste but imagine being in the same room as the tv as this movie's played like 1500 times.
Same. My older brother came back to live at home when he got divorced, and would just play this movie over and over for his kids. Was even on VHS too. Play it all the way through, rewind, and begin again.
Currently living in that hell
Dude back then the IKEA near my house would only play this or frozen so every time I went there to eat or buy something I’d hear this movie
I was the child that watched this over and over again. So much so my uncle had to find a different movie for me to watch
@@tmntgirl4lifeWhat different movie did your uncle find for you?
I just noticed something that I thought was funny, it flew passed me as a kid until now--the one time Mike’s face isn’t blocked by something is when Randal notices him in the bg when they were fleeing from the sushi restaurant
Mike being blocked by something will always be one of my favorite visual jokes of all time. Even funnier that they still do that even to this day lolol
I love the fact the only break he gets from it is when Randal catches them at the sushi place
The little 'awws' at the end is so wholesome
I'd actually love to see a movie where Boo starts to grow apart from Sully, and is caught in another monster plot, where Sully and Mike have to go on an adventure in the human world to save her, with a happy ending.
bro is SPITTING
Wasnt that supposed to be the sequal? I think it got cancelled bc pixar werent the ones working on it or something
@@katsfire6635the sequel was that he meets her granddaughter and has to convince her to believe in monsters. It also showed that big foot and other urban legends were actually also banned monsters like how the snow monster was on the mountain in the first movie
@@compassrose1466I thought it was that Boo grew up and moved and so Mike and Sully went to go fund her?
Kor has officially earned my respect. We need more Randall enjoyers in the world 😢
Randall fans rise up
@@HalTheBot Good news: Steve Buscemi will be playing Starscream in Transformers one, and Starscream is a fan favorite for Transformers fans.
I love this movie! It’s premise is very unique and it’s one of Pixar’s best films!
Excuse me th-cam.com/video/8Lv-cm6HbSk/w-d-xo.html may I ask what name of the movie in video opinion, please
11:14 As a Minnesotan yes that's what our state weather is like😂
Still waiting for the sequel where we see a grown up Boo thinking that Sully was just an imaginary friend.
This movie has so many funny parts in it that I could make a library filled with twitter posts, memes, and quotes.
4:38 y’all are insane for leaving that in! 🤣
Your guest star felt like a natural at milker commentary. I loved it 😂
I weirdly remember the short of this film more than the film itself. Mike's New Car is definitely one of my top 10 animes XD
7:17 The sound of mikes fingers being shut in the door while talking to the slug is the same sound effect used in Lego star wars when Darth Vader force chokes someone's or you'll hear it in the one star wars episode a new hope but regarding that sound effect came from star wars I recognized that sound when I was kid
A child developing a fear of monsters beacuse of watching this movie seems like the funniest thing.
14:14 I'm surprised y'all didn't make a "Mike was eating Sully's ass" joke
6:45 i love this joke right here, i just LOVE IT
Blue Eyes is slowly becoming a main character
This movie is funny but when we watched it in my economics class no one laughed for the entire time EXCEPT the scene where the kid bites Mike’s hand and he screams
Fun fact the actor that played boo was so young that they couldn't keep her in a recording booth. So they just fold her around the studio saying random letters and whatever else. And then they put that into the movie Spliced it all together and put it in the movie.
monsters inc is Pixar’s most GOATED movie on a whole other level
Edit: sorry guys it was a little bit of a mistake I did
True.
It's one of Pixar's most iconic movies
Who knew you could spell University so Wrong
It’s not underrated
It’s a iconic diamond in the rough
It literally was an Oscar nominee, tf u mean underrated?
10:00
That's no scream extractor, that's the _cream_ extractor
Not gonna lie, favourite Pixar film.
Loved the GBA game, loved the PS1 game, loved the game in the bonus features of the DVD.
Nice one
2:16 *M I K E R I Z Z I N S K I*
7:33 "They're gay" 💀
I HEARD THAT TOO 💀
I didn't
I love that Brazil was probably the only country in the whole of south america that wasn't in the doors range 3:17
French Guiana also was safe
Also I think Amazonas and Acre (two brazilian states) were on the range of the doors
I wish they would have gotten to do the sequel the script sounded so good
I agree with Kor. Randall was my favorite too, I think it was mostly because I got a toy of him in my happy meal on my birthday, and I would put him underneath my bed to be goofy
1:42 Did I mishear that 💀💀💀
Well what did you hear?
nah he said big daddy
No you did not 😭
6:42 blueeyes gotta be one of my favourite guests 💀
I appreciate you guys reining in your usual sarcastic, snarky tendencies for the extremely wholesome ending. :)
12:40 my weird neighbors when they see a child☠️🌚
This was THE first movie I've ever watched and it's been one of my favorites since, they're hard to find nowadays but the outtakes were hilarious cuz they'd screw up lines then animate them for something a little extra, it mostly seemed to be an OG Pixar thing but the gags were amazing
9:32 ok what
4:41 Why did that pop into your mind, bro? What are you thinking about, bro? Why are you thinking about children like that, dude?
Yeah that was fucked up
9:27 was so much worse if that's even possible.
Monsters inc is such a brilliant Pixar classic and one of my favorites from the studio alongside finding Nemo, cars 1,wall-e,And up especially the hilarious but rather cursed memes
I can't wait until they make the live action version of this.
I wonder why it has Randall's first name but everyone else's surnames on the top scarer list.
I never laughed so hard at a movie review.
I was literally saying the same thing, everyone has their last names on the board except him, even tho we know Boggs is his last name
5:57 I knew that as well and was thinking about it the whole time
I thought I remembered it being an explosion
03:31 as a brazilian i waiting happily for the door technology to be installed in my apartment 😍😍😍
btw 06:30 that caught me of guard cause pika in portuguese is like saying dick💀
“POV you’re about to get sucked”💀💀💀
same bro, Randall is my man in theses movies.
Emperor’s new groove next please
Yes!!
Mike Rizzinski😭😭😭
12:53 Hell yeahh!
9:01 classic..
Kor looks like Randall tbh if you look close enough.😂
I love how blue eyes and jack have the same brain cells
I've always wondered what happens if there's a kid with physical, mental or emotional issues and they scare them
Extra scream power
mike rizzinski💀💀💀
4:26 Sully is a true G helping his boy pipe.
14:42 best moment in the video
9:46 He's a member of MoMHLA (the Monstropolis Monster/Human Love Association).
10:26 ROCK ROCK 🗿
Was waiting for this for a long time
14:56 wait how strong this child that can physically hold a lizard person twice her size?
Do you not know a strong a child's grip is? Imagine that plus being pulled by your hair(or is his case antennas). it hurts and your thought are mostly go to, "get this thing off my head"
10:48
There is plan C and it starts with C too
3:18 That literally leaves pretty much all of Brazil out of the scaring zone tho
These guys keep finding new ways to ruin my childhood and I LOVE IT
I literally love you guys so much
If a child touches you you go to jail almost took me out 😂😂 3:58
I recently met the voice actress for BOO at a small art convention. Really kind and very nice, I even smoked a joint with her not even kidding. Never thought that would ever happen in my life 😂😂
Man, ya'll got the dark one-liners and I love it. XD XD XD
I have the Mike and Sully original plushies from the Disney shop. They were given to me when my sister was born as her “first present to me”…basically they didn’t want me feeling alone while the new baby is around so spoiled me while saying it’s all from her. As a result, Mike has always been my favourite, because his arms had wire in them to pose, and me and my dad had a joke about poking his eye out when he got home from work. Sometimes I forget how great this movie is.
9:21 Caused so many nightmare's for me as a child.
Don't sleep on Monsters at Work either. The cast may not be everyone's cup of tea, but the company's struggle to reinvent itself while fending off an energy crisis is very nicely portrayed, as well as the issue with certain jobs becoming obsolete even as people are still studying to get them. Mike and Sully still get enough screen time to be entertaining, and the newbie Tylor is a pretty good protagonist for this series.
I COULDN'T EVEN EDGE I EXPLODED IMMEDIATELY!! CLEAN UP ON AILSE MY PANTS!!
7:32 no matter how many times I try, I just keep hearing him say: “they’re gay”
Eden hasn't watched Kung Fu Panda, or How to Train Your Dragon, or Monster inc. Wtf was this childhood man?!???
You guys should replace Eden like Country Mac from Always Sunny
I remember this movie so well because on opening day my lil brother put a penny up his nose then 🏥 We had to go to a later show. Good Burger 🍔 reaction? Sponsored by Arby's? Dreamworks Wallace and Gromit curse of the Wererabbit/Chicken run reaction ?🐔🐣
Classic film can’t wait for you guys to watch M.U
This is a certified classic.
I loved this as a kid.
Yes, one of my favorite Pixar movies from my childhood! 😊
17:47 i love how jack forgot the movie instantly
I'll go join Kor on the "I liked Randall as a kid" hill.
Ngl would love to see Spilling the Milk watch Steve Buscemi movies like Con Air and the like
Good news: Steve Buscemi will be playing Starscream in Transformers one, and Starscream is a fan favorite for Transformers fans.
I too was a Randall fan, like, to an obsessive degree.
Surprised you guys include the Florida joke when Randall ends up at the trailer.
