This is my second 300 gram roast, I am starting to get it figured out on where to set the heat in manual mode to get the rate of rise and bean temps to roast a good tasting coffee. Still plenty of room to learn much more.

Are you able to hear first crack with this machine, the machine itself sounds loud

Yes you can hear first crack, the machine could definitely be more quiet

How is the smoke?. I can't use my Behmor inside which gets pretty annoying in the winter where I live. Is this one better?

I use the chimney pipe to the stove hood vent. So I'm not sure it the smoke filter works.

Something is wrong. I suspect it is C not F - double check that.
If it IS set to F then the readings are garbage - roasting temp in F are 380 to 450. If it is "roasting at 300-350 F" then the numbers are useless

I think the temp probe is put in a sweet spot for a full 500 grams, so it may not be reading correct for a smaller roast. Or the temp is reading just reading low.

Pretty good, but it was roasted a little to much for my taste, lost some of the character of this coffee.
