I’ve formed the habit of publishing all the names of my supporters simply because I appreciate your appreciation of my work, and I want to recognize each one of you personally. But, unfortunately, TH-cam allows a limited number of characters for the description, and I cannot fit all names anymore. So, this is my message to each one of my supporters personally:
THANK YOU!

Thanks to Amy for chatting with me!!
Trump verdict can wait. 😄
Thanks to both of you for doing what you do on TH-cam! 👍
Thank you @Doug.Helvering for the fun time!
I subscribe to both of you, so this thumbnail is freaking me out! (In a good way.)
Really enjoyed this.
As jacked up as the headlines today were, you two were the palate cleanser we all needed.
Doug said it in other words. these channels are the closest we can get to hearing the music again for the first time.
Two competent reactors with real musical knowledge and insight!
Perhaps you two should do a reaction video together sometime? Just like this but listening to a piece of music, together, and reacting and discussing it.
Maybe Nightwish would be fun.
Perhaps an occasional special or some scheduled episodes in which the same song is analyzed by each during same time frame.
Great idea!
They should do Maiden Mondays together.
Yes Nightwish 😁 two totally different opinions
Next: Rick Beato (seriously)
Agree 100%!
Rick would be a great guest!
Indeed!
man, imagine that; it would be nice speaking about not just composition but sound too; the initial videos with guitarist/drummer/keyb was not enough, we need more
Yes, and Fil from Wings of Pegasus.
Such a treat to see my favorite 2 TH-camrs together!
I knew the impact Close to the Edge had on Doug from his channel - the rabbit hole it opened into the deeper Yes catalog - the joy of seeing a genuine new fan born and sharing in that, wonderful.
I hope Amy returns to that piece periodically to let it sink in (no one can absorb it the first time, or even the first 5 times). Looking forward to that video. The next step will be “flipping the record over” and experiencing the surprises that await on Side 2!
I was hoping Close to the Edge would come up in their conversation :). Actually, I think Awaken would have been a better Yes song for Amy to start with. I hope she will listen to that one day.
Lecturing to the whole world indeed - I'm watching in New Zealand. Thanks Doug and Amy for being genuine in what you do.
Same! And agree re these two. Hi from Lyttelton.
Hi from "across the ditch", Swan Hill, VIC, Australia. Cheers!
Copenhagen here
I can tell, I have learn to listen and understand music much more since I began to listen to you two.
And it's fun to revisit old music and listen to it with fresh ears. Thank's
He did it for the girls.
Rock, jazz, classical... deep down we're all the same. 😂
This exchange brought me much joy.
🤘🧙♂🤘
You can see Dr. Shafer's love of teaching in her reaction to Another Brick in the Wall by Pink Floyd (and the preceding track Happiest Days of our Lives). Her series on The Wall is incredible stuff.
I loved it. My two favorite reactors (and music educators), who both happen to be classical musicians. A great conversation. Loved hearing both of your stories, some of which I already knew from watching you both, but we got a few more details and insights. I was happy to hear that "Child in Time" still holds a special place in your journey. Doug should add a harp piece to his Prog composition, so you can participate in his crowd sourced band he is thinking of putting together. I love your pointing out that what you, Doug, and your communities have shown is that "this is proof that the love of music hasn't died".
Now this is a treat I wasn't expecting to see. What a nice surprise! Thank you both. ❤
This conversation was a great idea. You both should do more videos like this. Kudos.
Two of my favorite people! 🤩
OH MY GOD WHAT A COLLAB!!!
David Heretic is another interesting musician who does reactions. He is a bassist whose chief forte is analyzing tempo and time signatures, in addition to key changes.
Amy describing her fascination with the harp and its timbre reminds me of what I like about the vibraphone. It has a unique combination of a bell like tone with the percussive impact of the piano and the vibrato(?) of the organ.
I hope Doug steers Amy toward progressive rock! 😎
Hopefully Keith Emerson's Piano Concerto.
She. is working her way through THE WALL...
@@gbsailing9436 jajajaj THE WALL!!? 2 YEARS yet! and shes can´t listening The Wall completely!!!
@@antoniocarlin5026 huh?!? What !!!? Use English please...
@@gbsailing9436 I don't mean one thematic double album with tons of short songs, but an appreciation of large-scale forms like Close to the Edge, which she wasn't yet able to relisten to. Plus one of her comments about not yet appreciating progressive rock. She likes many songs without yet realizing they are part of progressive rock. And one of her comments made this clear several weeks ago.
Such a wonderful interview! Two people I very much enjoy spending time with, spending time with each other 🙂 One of my favorite songs that includes the harp is the Temptations' version of "Just My Imagination" - to me, the best of all versions. I'd add my analysis, but I'd much rather Amy hear it with fresh ears. A classic Motown performance.
I have no academic understanding of music and play no me, but listening to music has always been a big and important part of my life. I love both of you and your videos; you teach me so much about the music I've grown up with. Thank you
I was drawn to Amy’s channel first because of LOVE OF MY LIFE as a QUEEN fan I was intrigued by someone who honestly didn’t know who Freddie Mercury was and because my grandmother was a classically trained professional harpist before she married my grandfather. It was during the depression and when she broke a string and it cost 18$ to replace she gave it up. ❤. I love Doug’s reactions - my first was MARCH OF THE BLACK QUEEN - which I’m trying to convince Amy to listen to! Help me out Doig! ❤
I thought of those capitalizations in Trump's voice. MAJOR! mistake.
Never heard of Freddie Mercury can you believe it? Sad!
A crossover episode I have been waiting for!
How heart warming to see two subscriptions merge.
I think, musically, you guys are ready for Jeff Wayne's Musical version of The War of the Worlds.
It's rocky, it's orchestral, it has a great stage and screen actor (Richard Burton) narrating it.
Science fiction and music normally comes across as cheesy. The music in this however builds tension and gives a spine tingle... And even a scare.
It's even been performed live as a concert with orchestra and singers.
Yes, I love watching people hearing music for the first time. ❤
I watch both of your reactions so it's a real joy to see you both conversing. I hope you get together again in a couple of years and see where you both are at that point. A big thank you for your musical insights.
It was on one of Amys very first videos when I recommended you two coming together and now it's the time. Absolutely great. I'd fancy something like a joined reaction of you both to one piece which would then lead to showing you both different but still classical driven expertise and perspective. It would even enhance to us as audience what interpretation of music is capable of.
I`m subscribed both of you. Trying to Learn English with both of you). Sorry about mistakes, trying not use translator. Hi from Kyiv Ukraine
Interesting that Doug writes choral music and Amy is a harpist. One of the finest choral composers, John Rutter, also has a strong passion for the harp which he includes in many of his orchestral arrangements.
He's legit! Choir music, at school, what's the ratio?
Born into a classical music family, with father making instruments.
"Close to the Edge", Yes! :)
You are both fabulous! And I follow both of you. Cheers from Lisbon, Portugal!
Portuguese here too. Love both.
Very appreciated this partnership! Both of you provide so much thought provoking anaysis and entertainmet, it is great to see you on the same screen. I have enjoyed the content for quite some time, but it is great to now have a reference point in which to understand your personal paths. Keep doing what you do, LOve you both!
PS: Vlad is the man! Excellent back story, idea and supporting personality in Amy's show!
I was drawn to Amy’s channel because my grandmother was a classically trained professional harpist before she married my grandfather. It was during the depression and when she broke a string and it cost 18$ to replace she gave it up. ❤. I love Doug’s reactions - my first was MARCH OF THE BLACK QUEEN - which I’m trying to convince Amy to listen to! Help me out Doig! ❤
I'd love to see you two create a playlist that you keep up to date and add to when you react to a memorable song...
Good to see you guys together. I’m a fan of both y’all’s channels!
This interview with Dr. Helvering is a fabulous innovation for a channel like this one.
I am eager to hear the two of you conduct an analysis together. Well done, Mrs. Shafer!
This was an AMAZING episode with two of the most knowledgeable and engaging people in this space. Thank you both for taking the time to share this with your fans!
Fantastic! My two favorites classical reactors. I've found them cause both have reacted and commented on many wonderful songs of my favourite band Queen
Perfect video........ Only negative point was, no music backstage.
From a Brazilian music fan, I can say that you both in a different way "invade" my house weekly. And I love it !!!!!!!
Knowing more from you two was realy a plus with bonus.
Maybe you can show us 1 classical piece per month. Than we can learn more from your passion music.
Thanks for you and your families
I was fortune enough to have been born in Wales. The arts, music in particular is very much in our blood. I sang in choirs whilst in school, having taken part in Massed male choirs. I was not happy when my voice broke. Knowing this about yourself (Doug) Adds that little "something". Love your channel. oops. Regarding the harp. Born in Wales? the harp is our national musical instrument
I'm a big fan of both of you! Keep up the good work! And thank you for that! :)
Thanks Amy and Doug. I really enjoy the work of both of you.
Amy, you should give another try on Close To The Edge. You never got to do a deep analysis of it. You might get surprised.
Two of my favorite people on you tube! I'm kind of sorry to hear how it was you both got into this, but I'm sure glad you did! What I love most about both of you, is your palpable love for music. No matter how outside your comfort zone you've gone, you've been able to see the beauty in what you're listening to, and analyze it in incredibly knowledgeable and interesting ways.
My favorite comment was by Dr. Doug: MUSIC IS A GREAT COMPANION.
I am a subscriber to both of your channels and you are two of my favorite reactors! This was so fun! Thanks for making it happen!
two of my favorite musicians just chatting. this was a special treat ty.
Yes, let's do it again, sometime. Sometime when you, Amy, have run through Close to the Edge enough times to start to really feel it like I did back in '72. Doug gets it!
I remember how Amy reacted to the song Child in Time. I have been so enlightened from watching and listening to Amy.
Love this...Love the both of you and seeing this interview. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for doing this. It's a very enjoyable chat from the two channels I follow.
Love Doug's reaction to Radiohead's OK Computer. Specifically the reaction to 'Exit Music (for a film', and his stank face when the fuzz bass kicks in.
I love you both!
I'd love too see you react to a song simultaniously! Please make it happen! 🙂
Close to the Edge is epic - the only Yes album in my perfect 99 albums 1979. Imma Lamb fan (lies down on Broadway). It makes me cry, no holding back.
What a treat! Two of my favorite reactors sharing stories and insights. Thank you both for doing this!
I smashed the like button before even watching this! What a wonderful surprise to see you two together!! And now i'll sit back and enjoy the video.
so glad to finally see this as i watch a lot of Doug's content on TH-cam, in fact i came straight to this immediately after watching one of his reaction videos.
Two of muy favorite youtubers together! Great!!❤❤
I follow both of you, and it´s a very pleasure to see you togheter. God bless you!
What a great interview. So much fun. I especially enjoyed the discussion about Steve Hackett.
2 of my favorite reactors.
Hi Amy and Doug.
I follow you both!
I'm a regular viewer of both Virgin Rock and The Daily Duck (a nod to the caption glitch he used to have).
This was a brilliant back and forth. Loved it!!!
thanks for the good guest.
I love this collaboration, i found Doug first, but when i saw your channel (and justice for all video), i related it to doug's channel. So, as a guitarist, im always interested in a musicians perspective and insight, so i had to subscribe
Loved your conversation, and so appreciate your words of wisdom on pieces of music that I have loved and have had in my life for some 50 years. So interesting to see new ears hear what I have loved for so long. Your smile and facial expressions, your eyes lighting up are such joyful moments to see, as your exploration of the new opens itself up to you. My suggestion for you and Doug to share a listening experience to would be the album Secret Story by Pat Metheny, full of splendid melody, free of vocals, but something so musically perfect, something I think you would both love, and would spark some very interesting conversations about the pieces.
Great meet-up! I admire you both. I’m so into music my whole life since my elementary school year back in the sixties. You broadened my perspective of music that I listened to. My first love was Beatles and 60’s Rock with a little Motown in between.
It's fabulous to see you both, exchanging your feelings and impressions about your journey in TH-cam. I love both of your channels !❤
Nice to.see both of you!.
Hope to see you again soon...
Regards from Argentina.
Just watched on Doug's channel, that was great Amy!
I watched it here: Doug’s channel is more crowded 😉
I’m glad to be subscribed to both of your channels!
Man love watching both of these channels. But I’ll have to say I think Doug has the better dance moves in his reactions ha ha!😂
Great to see two of my favorite TH-camrs interview each other. Fun to hear your backstories!
Wow a crossover of my two favorite "reaction" content creators is not what I expected to see today, but I am here for it! Thank you both for making this happen 😄
Nice to see you two together
Glad the two of you had this chat, I watch both of your channels and I think Doug summed it up well - I don't get to hear a piece of music for the first time again, but I appreciate you bringing your musical knowledge to your first listens. My suggestions to both of you would be an oldie - Peaches en Regalia by Frank Zappa - and a newer piece - Free in the Knowledge ny The Smile (a couple of Radiohead people and a great drummer).
A joy to hear you both share memories and you have both given us great memories reliving our youth and “hearing our favourite music for the first time…again” Keep on pronging Doug and Amy.
Cool to see two TH-camrs that I subscribe to in the same video! I thought there was something wrong with my computer at first, haha.
Amy Child in Time ,& Queen ❤
I regularly watch (listen to!) both of your programs, which I consider excellent...music nerd heaven! Thanks and great to see you join forces, even for just a chat about music.
That was werry interesting to listen to.😊
Yes!!! 😃😃😃😃
I enjoy both channels. Thanks to both of you.
I'd love to see the 2 of you together for a reaction to 'The Prophet's Song' by Queen
Great conversation, I do not follow Daily Doug, but I saw and liked few of his reactions, this was just informative and great listening two people that have knowledge and skills that are precious in our times.
Keep both of you same attitude and same enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and understanding, in now days that is more what we need in this crazy times and this crazy world.
✌️
I appreciate the both of you even more. Thank you.
Two of my favorites, enjoy your conversation as well as your reactions. Thanks for your insight.
Music is the universal language... :):)
It s the daily Doug!!!
I watch you both. You each have your own qualities to recommend you both.
Two favourite musical TH-camrs coming together!
How lovely!
I have been saying this for a while and I stick with it:
Reaction channels are what music television should have been, but hardly ever was. Listen to music, watch the videos, but make it about the music and the work of the artists, not about the station or the gossip. Gaining additional insight through other ears and eyes is valuable to me, because i think it educates me in a way, that otherwise wouldn't have happened.
this was a really good chat! It felt like you both got into a comfortable groove talking with each other quite quickly
I follow you both and loved this collab. A dear greeting from Italy ❤
Lovely surprise, I watch Doug (and The Charismatic Voice) as well. All excellent!
My two favorites! Thank you!
What a great conversation!!! Both of you are two of my favourite reactors. You both take your time to explain in detail the why the music we love is so good. This adds to our enjoyment. Thank you both!!!!
What a fantastic conversation! Love both of your channels.
This was really fun. Both are really great.
Enjoyed watching two of my faves together! 😀
