It looks amazing. I love this Green better than the first given it vibes better with the flow to your bedroom and the bedding. The hidden sink faucet was a win to work with the small space and provides more counterspace when the faucet is not in use. Genius. Despite the 2 expensive unexpected hiccups, it was well worth it👍🏼😁

When trying to do contact cement alone, place dowel rods on your surface and then lay the top on the rods. When it is lined up properly, you can then pull out the rods. They won’t stick because you don’t have cement on them.

Better color for sure, I've done it, not on cabinets but a huge room. Tried to live with it like you did...in the end, I painted the room again. When you know, you just know. Little scrap sticks of wood (2x2 preferable for height) placed all around the counter before laying the sheet on, then after it's lined up start pulling the wood out from the side one by one. Easiest way for one person to do it. As always, funny and beautifully aesthetic. Look forward to the spectacular dining room!

There's a spray paint can holder that might help you to get more even flow when spraying, which means more even coverage and less hand fatigue.

I love how it turned out - and I agree w the extra expense for the sink it makes the counter so much more useful. And laughing as the „oops“ that could be me and my husband lol. (Also I just used that musselbound you guys used in your old home kitchen - and I loved it. But I remembered Russels tip to make sure the cut tile is super dry)

here is a tip...when u are trying to stick laminate over wood (u have two pieces with glue cement, tacky and ready)...and u are by yourself...put some pieces of wood (broom handle works very good because it rolls) put in top of the main piece, then place the laminate in top and match the seems...start at one side, roll the broom wood underneath...stick another section and so on...cement glue will be activated only when u put the two pieces together but it won't stick to the wood broom stick...voila...a solo diy project done right and with out any headaches.

Russell, next time you're installing something with contact cement, the trick is to place strips of wood about every 12 inches across the piece you want to laminate, then place your laminate on top of the wood strips. This will give you the chance to align your edges without having the contact cement on both pieces touch. Once it's aligned, start by removing one wood strip at a time from the middle and work your way out as you use a roller to adhere the two pieces together.

WOW! Very nicely done, and I completely agree re: the paint color. The laminate countertop looks great. Im very curious about the backsplash material you used: is that also a type of laminate? Its hard to tell, but it almost looks like the same laminate you used for the counter? Anyway, my question is, can that only be applied to smooth surfaces, or will the glue also stick to rough surfaces?
It’s the same laminate! We took the same pattern up the wall too. I think it would only apply to a smooth surface.
@@LindiandRuss Hoorah! The rough surface application is great news. 😁 My travel trailer has wallpaper as a backsplash, so I’m hesitant to cook and risk splatter. Nothing I’ve applied to the surface to protect it has adhered in temp fluctuations. I hadn’t considered laminate and it could be the solution for which I’ve been searching. Many thanks for speedy reply. 😀👍
