I grew up as a child in Fagalii and i remembered my Grandma (she was a teacher) when she used to tell me Faagogo, she would tell me time and time again about this. I just thought it was a bedtime story to get me to sleep, but now as an adult it is a True story.

My nana is from Fagali'i. She comes from the big branch of the SAVEA family which branched off into LEATITAGALOA CLAN, MAUMAGA CLAN, FA'AMAILE CLAN AND NU'UTITO CLAN

Sole, Maui probably was a real person, but a lot of stories about him have been embellished, fantastical inventions. A lot surrounding him are just myths.

Awesome brother. This is very similar to one of our stories of Maui Tiki Tiki a Taranga. I am Maori from Aotearoa ( New Zealand) and we have many stories of Maui Tiki tiki a Taranga . He is also our Ancestor. Do you think this is the same Maui ???

@@joeruanuku9325 yup very much the same guy. A few of our Maori myths and legends were passed down from our tuakana islands being Kukis then their tuakana being Tahiti then their tuakana being Samoa. Learning stories from my mums Maori side and Dads Samoan side i started asking questions and connecting dots. Its an awesome subject trying to learn our generational knowledge and stories.

Uso, be more precise with your translation. Ti’ti’e doesn’t just mean to sit. It means to sit as in riding upon something like a car, a horse, an airplane, or on the shoulder of Talaga as you mentioned, as his pops was moving by walking, of course. You gotta be sitting on something that is moving and usually meant as a means of transportation to use the word ti’eti’e. Simply put, it means to ride.
