Letasi tuilagi descendant here don’t forget my great great grandfather was on this boat he was lauaki right hand man . These are the real hero’s who paved the way for Samoa mo Samoa fearless warriors.. FATAUSI SAFOTULAFAI SAPAIA CLAN. FUIFATU😎
In our history classes in Samoa back then we were not taught these other sides to our history. What they taught us stopped with Lauaki Namulaulu Mamoe, Taisi O F Nelson, Mataafa Iosefa, and Tupua Tamasese Lealofi III and a few others. This is a good insight into what else was going on in the background of things.
Awesome videos uso. If you need any Tongan ones for future - William Mariner and the Tongan Islands Also Niua Fo’ou Volcanic eruption 1946 which caused the whole island to move 😁 Great work
Wow -thank you so much for sharing this amazing and unforgettable piece of history right here - Your great great grandfather was a true hero a brave man for what he believed and stood for RIL and thank you for your service to our people especially our Motherland Samoa 🇼🇸 Manuia … ✊🏽🫶🏽
Good story of my great great grandfather his first wife had a son name Vai the only son and was the oldest before remarried.. I’m so proud that his kids and grandkids keep his legacy stories on the map of Samoa 🇼🇸 ❤️❤️
What an absolutely amazing piece of history.. the stuff that epic movies are made of I hope it’s made into a movie or mini series one day. He Tōtara 🫡 Marvellous 🥰
I’m one of proud grandson of iiga Pisa I was very young but I remember him very well and loved being around him but I didn’t know he’s story until I was in my early teens I would hear things about his journey I love my grandfather very much and he name me after him and now I know that he loved me too
I'm a born Samoan lady and i'm crying while watching this. I love our people that loves hard and forgives always. I think this was a boycotte to weaken our culture by others. However i give thanks, gratitude and love to our elders, and our ancestors for being so loving, peaceful, joy and the freedom they showed us. That is what i am❤
Really interesting documentary about a son of Samoa being extradited to foreign lands.Learns the locals language then turns to learning the German language in order to communicate to the German Colonisers.Sets out to Guam by using the traditional navigation techniques.Manages to persuade authorities and hitch a ride to Hawaii.Realises once arriving in Hawaii that the Germans have left and the English had taken over the administration Learns the language in order to communicate with them.Gets a job in the government because speaks their language and studied their ways and methods.Has a massive hand as an interpreter during the Samoan independence negotiations and dies in his country that he served. And not a single mention of his name with in the education system for future generations to learn what.. Tautua…to be of service is all about. Samoans only remember who they want to remember and if you went with the tide you a Were considered an asset…Go against the grain regardless of contribution….not a mention!! 🇼🇸

If you can't wear this great man's shoes and make the contriving decisions he had to make; don't try to be a hero here and try to comment insinuating comments ... Samoa, the first country in the Pacific Islands to be independent.

Samoan Legend. This story needs to be told to the new age coming up to be leaders.
Love & Respect Great OG I'iga Pisa, forever indebted 🎗
Amazing how he navigated 5,000 kilometers of sea using only the stars. Our people are geniuses deliberately gaslit out of fear.
Where is part 1?

If we Pacifica's don't study the past, our descendents have no future 😢
Now we have peppa wetzell & the metzell marry in and still own like Aotearoa..
The best part is I'iga used the stars to travel the pakipika. 🫵😊
