    The Tops Brakimo is my favorite knife for any kind of outing. It don't matter if I'm camping or if it's bushcraft/woodcraft. I have used and own a bunch of knives but this one has done the best for me. It is a beast in the woods.

    I've had mine for about a year and half, now, and I love it. I almost lost it when the clip on the sheath came off after the little bolt and nut came unscrewed. Fortunately I was at the house when it happened, or I might have lost it. A little Locktite fixed that problem and it hasn't happened again.
    I went a different direction with the blade edge, instead of polishing mine, I cold blued it after having it start to rust on a long, wet weekend where the blade never got a chance to dry out. I'd heard folks at Joe Flowers Amazon trip had that problem, too. I always keep it oiled, now as well.

    The Brakimo has replaced every knife of that size. Imho, it’s the best knife you can carry.

    The Brakimo is wicked , its a plain and simple design its what a knife should look like in my opinion.
    I ended removing the grey coating, it has some kind of clear coat crap that ends up getting rust trails. That's the only way I can explain it ....Anyways I gave mine a patina and also polished the scandi edge . It looks like they changed the micarta mine is more grey looking and gets that oily shine from my hand oils . It's such a workhorse but yet also beautiful looking.

    • @ChuckinSteel
      @ChuckinSteel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is still my favorite knife of all time. The new Brush Wolf is amazing too, of course it's in a different category but the Brakimo and BOB are definitely in my top field knives.

      @@ChuckinSteel Brushwolf ..haven't seen that one.
      I think I might get their Tanimboca Puukko knife . My other goto blade is the Ontario SK5 Blackbird, holy crap it's wicked sharp and has the most comfortable square handle ove ever had. It's in 154cm steel that's the only downer for me but it works so freaking good .
      I love Tops and have my MSK 2.5. Attached to my Brakimo too👍
      Their knives are just wicked looking and that differential heat treat is excellent.

    • @ChuckinSteel
      @ChuckinSteel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes sir, they have the best 1095 in the business In my opinion. Yeah the Brush Wolf is a larger knife but I always carry a larger knife or axe with me. Kinda like a 3 blade combo, with the mid size doing most of the task. I do carry a hawk or axe instead of a larger knife tho. Tops is by far my favorite fixed blade company. I love ontario too, I don't have the sk5 but want one. Tops Senorin is excellent

    Scab sent me over. Glad he did too. First of all, I've been considering grabbing one of these for quite awhile. Your review talked me into buying one, I have a Tops BOB, and quite a few other bushcraft style blades, but something about the Brakimo attracted me. I just wanted these handles, but all I could find for a long time was the Rocky Mountain tread ones. The Knife Connection recently got some of this style handle in, so I just ordered one. I didn't really need another bushcrafter, but..well..I'm a knife nut, so there ya go, lol.
    Also, I've been interested in slingshots, but know next to nothing about them, so your channel should help me out there too! I'm so glad Scab gave you the shout out, or I may never have found your channel! He's a great guy. He gave me a shout out too,along with so many others, and I picked up a few new subs myself. The man may be big and burly, a little rough around the edges, but he has a heart of gold.
    Have a great holiday weekend brother.

      Thanks so much for subscribing 🙏🙏 I'm a knife nut too... I'm glad that you decided to get a Brakimo, like I said in the video, it really is my go to knife for bushcraft. It's perfect for me and it's plenty strong enough to hold up in survival situations. You won't be disappointed In the purchase. Slingshots are fantastically fun and challenging. Anything you need to know just ask. I'll help get you started and improve anyway I can. I have some pretty good videos showing how accurate they can be. You just have to go further down my list. I shoot a golf ball from 45 yds first shot and even at 100yds in like 5 shots I think. I'm subbing to you right after this reply. Thanks again 👊 have a happy independence day and weekend. 🇺🇸🇺🇲

      @@bartcornelius7717 I prefer a flat sided handle over a curved handle but I like the blade shape and design better on the Brakimo mainly bc it's wider. This for me is the perfect knife. I tend to do mine differently than most people out there but it works for me. A few people have asked for a sharpening vid so I'll do one. @@ChuckinSteel I did! I have to say that at first I was disappointed...it was pretty terrible at carving at first with the factory edge, even though it was sharp. I spent a couple hours grinding away the slight hollow grind and removing the secondary bevel. I basically sharpened it like a scandi, but with a back and forth motion that made it slightly scandivex. Now it carves like a dream and chops like a baby hatchet! Hard to believe what a difference that made. Still hoping you'll make a sharpening video for us someday ;)
