It is the best all around knife I own. I can build a shelter, baton fire wood, start a fire, carve a spoon, make traps, and just about anything else I need a knife for. I love the sheath as well. I bought mine about 8 years ago, have bought many other knives since, and I still like the BOB the best. Thanks for your video and views.
I have the BOB in 1095. My favorite knife so far. I see you got that Shango notch figured out real good. The only thing Ive changed on this was the sheath. I’m a leather guy. The leather sheath is amazing. The Condor Selknam kind reminded me of a Tops made knife but lacks the finer finishing that TOPS put into their product. But then again Condor is the less expensive tool. Keep up the good work. Enjoyed this video and God Bless. 🙏
Thanks brother 👊, yeah TOPS are on another level than condor but condors are great knives and most are at a really great price. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
This is why I think the Dragonfly 4.5 might be s great choice. It has a handle more like a Bob and s blade like a Brakimo Kephart blend. It's also thinner and I'm interested in a thinner blade . It's supposed to come with the leather sheath and dangler now so ya gotta stop carefully. The older version ships with a crappy nylon sheath.
@@ChuckinSteel Here's my Brakimo on Bushcraft USA forum. bushcraftusa.com/forum/threads/tops-brakimo-i-like-this-thing.303358/#lg=post-5544775&slide=2 I think they changed the handle color . I love the rugged look they get with use.
I think that might just be my next knife purchase. I've been looking at them for years. Which steel do you think holds up better, the 154cm or the 1095. Tops 1095 is literally tops. I have Tahoma that's 1095 and it has a couple tiny rust discolorations where I touched it without oiling it in those spots. Have you tried their Tracker?
I have the mini tracker, and it's fun, but I have never used a full-size tracker. To be honest, if there is a difference, I think the 154 may would hold an edge longer, but I really can't tell a difference because they do such a great job on 1095. The best in the business...even over esee. You can try 0000 steel wool and gun oil to see if you can get the discoloration out without to many scratches. I would try a tiny spot first if you like your knives in really nice shape. I really want a Tahoma but I haven't gotten one yet. That and the Storm Vector. Thanks for watching and the comments. 👊
I have this knife. It's great for the wood working that you have shown. I don't think that it would be great for game processing because it is a thick blade. I also find it on the heavy side.
@@ChuckinSteel I have seen the need to pump out content for sure. I have been rolling but I hope to level off a little more soon. I'm having lots of fun. Thats for sure haha. Keep up the good work sir!

I wanted the same thing but its just gonna take a little longer. I started about the same time but went a few months before I even uploaded my second video. I don't mind taking my time. I also don't push my channel like I could. You had about 100 more subs than me when I shouted you out and now like 400 more. I can't wait to get as good as you Mr.JB! I like the look of that blade! Thanks so much for sharing this bruv! I'm getting videos out here and one with your gifts soon! Stay safe and blessed my friend! Cheers, Jerbs #22ADAY 👍🏼🇺🇸🔥🔪🔥🇨🇦👍🏼
@@ChuckinSteel your to kind Mr.JB...its looking like I did some serious damage to the tendons and ligaments as well as the bone in my hand...so once it's a bit better the band's on the slingshot will be great strengthening once the rehab starts! So this truly is a blessing of a gift my friend!
Excellent review. Very impressive skills, and performance of the knife. I wonder why others don’t bother learning how to properly use that shango notch 😂. Also what are your thoughts regarding 1095 vs 154CM when getting a BOB ? Thanks!
Thank you 👊. I think most people just try the shango notch and use it the wrong way and then discount it. I think it's much easier to get a wicked sharp edge faster on the 1095 and it means a lot but the ability to not have to worry as much about cleaning and drying the 154cm means a lot too. It's really a toss-up for me. I'm very happy in the woods with either of the 2. It's nice to have this 154cm because I carry it on rainy days. I hope that helps.
Yeah brother, it's a great knife. I need to start thinking about how I'm gonna test knives from here on out.. I don't push them or anything it's just regular knife work.. I mainly just show regular Ole knife work bc that's what most people do with them.🤣🤣🤣. I was gonna throw more at it bc this was footage I was throwing away and I was gonna re-record all of it and be tougher on the knife. I just didn't have time.

great review man. i've owned several blades in 1095 but would love to add the BOB in 154. beast of a blade.
Thank you 👊 yes it's a beast for sure.
I got this knife in 2017 in 1095. You should try the Tops Brakimo.
I have one and a vid on it as well. The Brakimo is my all time favorite knife.
Great demonstration. Looks like a good knife

Good looking knife brother. 👍🏻
Thank you. I have had it about 4 yrs now.

Thank you. Yes, I got the stainless just bc I wanted it to be different than most but yes I love their 1095 for sure.
Awesome skills brother 👏

Mime is micarta but both versions are smooth. Micarta just gets grippy when it's wet
