FIFTEEN people to Paris, with adults in first-class plus accommodations... they had to have spent about SIXTY GRAND on that trip. in 1990! The MacAlisters are rich as hell...
Frank is clearly the McAllister brother who lives a more mundane lifestyle, especially considering how cheap he is. Peter's family has that gigantic house that fits two parents and five children, and as we see later on in the movie, Uncle Rob's family, who lives in Paris, has an apartment with a view looking straight at the Eiffel tower, so they are undoubtedly in an expensive part of the city and that's not even taking into account how Rob's family has a brownstone in Manhattan that they are renovating. ⅔ of this family is absolutely loaded.
@@SnowyWolborg In the original draft to Home Alone was Frank was behind the burglary on the McAllister home. That's why he's written as such a villain. His motive was going to be that he was deep in debt and jealous of his brother.
12:35 The movie Kevin is watching is called Angels with Filthy Souls, which isn't a real movie, but shares a similar title with the black and white crime movie Angels with Dirty Faces, which I would say is definitely worth watching, Leo.
Those and at least the 1st Santa Clause with Tim Allen. And Jim Carey's Grinch. I also add Bad Santa with Billy Bob Thornton and Reindeer Games with Ben Affleck
Part of me likes the chaos of Christmas with family and the rest of me likes the calm of a more split up Christmas. I miss when my kids were young, Christmas was probably more fun for me than it was the kids. I didn’t mind running out at 6am on Black Friday to buy the wii, or the leftover mess from the presents. My kids are now young adults, my son is stationed in VA, and my daughter lives in Chicago. We still get together for Christmas but it’s less of an event now, the joy has waned. I think that’s why we start pushing for grand babies, to get to feel some of that again……i can wait a few more years though 😂
I thought I only liked "real 1st reactions". You've changed my mind. Fun seeing you relive a classic. Must be your talent. It was apparent since I first saw you react to "Master of Puppets". You have a great personality.
$122 for 10 pizzas is a steal! You're basically spending $52 just for two or three pizzas in 2024. And that's with maybe two toppings. What gets me is all those groceries Kevin got for $20. Unless you go to Dollar Tree, you're getting like 1/8th of those groceries for $20. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
i haven't watched this movie in years but i've seen it at least two dozen times and remember almost all of it. but i have to say, watching it through your eyes here was an absolute treat. love you lots, dude. merry christmas.
@MrVideo So glad you watched this, hope you watch the 2nd as well, Tim Curry steals the scenes.......I appreciate the fact you were upfront and have integrity. You have "it" Sir and hopefully you get enough merch sales too offset youtube's crap. Id love to see you be able to do these and music more and more. As usual you have an amazing heart young Man
I hope you do Home Alone 2 before Christmas! So glad you're back doing reactions. I used to enjoy yours way more than others. You are so honest and so funny man!
Cameras today aren't "too HD." Movies shot on 35 mm film are actually higher resolution than digital HD. Older movies are different because they're from a different time, a simpler time before cell phones and the internet. People weren't constantly distracted by being connected to the entire world at all times. All you had was what was right in front of you.
Nah, I know what he’s saying. There’s a different quality about the cameras as well as the way the movies are shot. Other factors as well. There’s just a different style about films from that time.
Thanks for being honest up front dude. Asia and BJ watched the whole movie and acted like it was their first time.. Then at 55:10 AFTER it's over they finally admit they've seen it.. VERY shady and deceitful!!!!!! And even then only Asia admitted it, and BJ does his normal "Yeah yeah" "non admittal, admittal". Basically wont confirm or deny for himself. Which obviously means guilty. I can't stand liars and fakers. So props to you dude!
I have a VCR, some of the great classics are not on DVD like “A Walt Disney Christmas” “Jiminy Cricket’s Christmas” “Rainbow Brite” “She-Ra” “He-Man” and many many others. I actually have two VCR’s.
@@mickybakerAll of them? I have all of She-Ra’s volumes on VHS. I didn’t realize they converted her whole collection to DVD. Thanks, I will look for them.
Hi MrV, home alone is a classic. Our fave Christmas go to is Christmas vacation love the Griswolds. Wishing you a Merry Christmas. Hugs for Bella and love to you and your family.❤
The vibe you feel from these older movies is just the nostalgia of being a young kid 😂..happy care free the good old days no worries just happy memories
If anything, this movie will give you confidence to be HOME ALONe! It's so sweet to see John Candy and Macaulay reunited in this after Uncle Buck. Even though they didn't share a scene together, close enough. The funeral story by Candy was completely improvised, which makes it even more hilarious, rest in peace...Marv's spider death scream is legit. He really had arachnophobia. The greatest crime committed in this movie is certainly... that Kevin never even gets to eat his highly nutritious Macaroni and Cheese. "What, now?" "No tomorrow ya egghead yeah now!" 😂
I still got a VCR. Lol. Keep in mind this was the early days of VHS, so a VCR was between $200 and $500... a stereo even more. That many kids they probably had one of each in multiple rooms, and probably the older kids rooms. Each tape ran $10-20 a pop as well... so they would have made bank. This was also the era where people would break into your car and steal the stereo... so this premise was pretty realistic.
Those ADA commercials were SERIOUS in the 90s. I'm keeping my teeth, ya heard me. Lol Marv's reaction to the spider is genuine; he had a true phobia and thought they were going to use a prop. Kev making it so the cops knew nothing about him was pure genius.

"Home Alone" and "Home Alone 2" are must-sees around every Christmas. I was born in 1983 and remember watching the second movie with my best friend when it came on, we both laughed so hard we fell off the cinema seats when Harry and Marv fell for all the traps. could say that the spirits heard that argument and decided that for Christmas, Kevin needed to be taught a lesson. lest he turn that frustration into hate and become bitter with his family.

The famous "movie" Kevin watches unfortunately isn't a real movie and was only filmed for Home Alone.
The title is taken from the Dead-End Kids movie: Angels with Dirty Faces
How has nobody crowd funded Angels with Filthy Souls? That and Robot Rebel Ranch.
It also makes an appearance in Detective Pikachu. It is playing on the TV when we first see the Father's apartment.
