This is why he no longer does it on camera, they were hitting every video on his main channel so he made secondary channels to get around it and it hurt his main channel's view count which he stopped using for a while.

So for the elf scenes, like Buddy hugging Papa Elf and sitting on him, they actually had kids play the elves. For the sitting scene, they had someone lie down and placed Papa Elf a foot behind to make it look like he was being sat on. Same thing for the bike scene in the beginning, kids hands on shoulders, Papa Elf a foot back. Its so cool how they did it all!!!
No matter how many times I've watched this, and it's one of my favorites, I still can't watch him eat the gum under the railings. Santa was not specific enough 😂 😂
The guy who does props on yt shorts said it was pre chewed gum by Will himself and the gum was put on a piece of packing tape taped to the underside of the rail 🤣🤣 hope that helps next time you watch

It is so fascinating how they used practical effects to make Will Ferrell look tall and the elves look small. It is all forced perspective, a photography trick that alters the size of subjects to make them look either bigger or smaller.

As a Chicagoan, I need this story re-written for us where instead of walking through the Lincoln Tunnel, he walks through, and inevitably gets lost in, Lower Wacker. lol
No they didn’t use little people for some of the scenes of him with the elves. It was PERSPECTIVE! They just had him closer to the camera than the others. Everyone looked where he would be if they were actually smaller than him and he looked down. They weren’t actually looking at each other though!

The most unbelievable part of the whole movie is the guy in the mail room saying he's only 26. Jovi was played by Zooey Deschanel. One movie she stars in that I highly recommend, is 500 Days Of Summer. IMO that is a must watch for young men.

They used "force perspective" to make the elves look small. You line up the camera where it looks like they're standing next to each other, but the elf character is just further back.
