  • For this job it was necessary a special tool that most people don't have.
    If you have a VAG car it's a good idea investing in a spline/ triple square socket set.
    Here's the exact one I have:
    amzn.to/45NR2vl
    This can very well be accomplished inside of 45m.
    And if you're attempting this job confirm which hub size you've got because there's 2 different ones.
    One is 30mm and the other is 32mm.

    Well done, you got there in the end! I have similar problem will be changing o/s rear sensor first of all, n/s/r went last year. However thanks to your very good vid I now know how change the ABS bearing. Keep up the good work Semedo!

    Very good informative video.. You are very knowledgable about this job..and describe the stages well. I’ve got to do mine later this month and was not looking forward to it but you have made it less of a worry so.. Many thanks.

      In all honesty the hardest part is getting the bolt to the additional 180° after the 180Nm.
      Everything else is a wall in the park..
      Just get stuck in and you'll see what I mean.. Hope it goes well for you. 🤞🏾

      Yeah.. For sure..
      Definetly wasn't dunnwitjer hammering my thumb a few times trying to get it on.. 🤣
      Just do it.. You'll see it ain't that hard..

    Great Video ! You should always change the wheel speed senors first they are usually the culprit ....

    • @_LuisS
      @_LuisS  หลายเดือนก่อน

      True.. But this time because of the way the fault was described really led me to believe the bearing had failed and I completely ignored my rule of replacing the cheapest or easiest part first...

      Thanks. Glad you liked it. Feedback like this is always truly appreciated.
      I feel very comfortable around cars. Even this being first time I ever changed a bearing I was confident I would do it.
      Maybe that's why I come across as relaxed..

    I only ever achieved 60 degrees on my bolt and its been fine for a year now 😄. The world strongest man maybe able to get it to 180 degrees.

      I honestly not worried about it.. I'm confident it's tight. But it was a punch in the gut when I couldn't get 90°. 🤣 🤣

      Before throwing parta at it, it's always best to scan it and pinpoint the problem..
      If you haven't had it scanned it's just a waste of money because it could be any of the 4 sensors that failed.

    I just replaced mine after breaking 4 3/8 sockets. I had to get Capri Tools 30056 XZN 18mm Triple Square Bit Socket with Tamper Proof, 1/2-Inch which did the job in no time. once i had it, it took me about an hour to do both.

      With these high torque bolts just use 1/2 inch sockets to improve your chances of removing it...

    Nice work mate.
    One tip.....you need the car on the floor with the wheel on to try and get 180. It's a pain cos then you got to take wheel off again to put the cap on.
    Either way you won't get 180!

    • @_LuisS
      @_LuisS  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks..
      I know I could've done it that way but I want trying to do all that.. 🤣 🤣
      That's why I kept the jack under the suspension bit to keep it from moving.
      But it's very reassuring knowing that even after all that work I wouldn't be able to reach the 180°.
      Thanks for the tip bro..

      @@_LuisS i've seen one guy get near 180 put he used pole the length of a car on the spline.....he was lucky he never split the spline or damaged the bolt.... !

      @user-oh1ve2zz6z yeah.. I think I've seen that one too.. Breaker bar is the longest thing I had in hand. And as mentioned I really thought I would get 90. 🤦🏾‍♂️

      I would belive so.
      The beauty of VAG cars is that they all work the same way..
      But like always I suggest scanning it first. As you can see even with scanning it I swapped the hub when I just needed a sensor..

    Hi, what is your engine type and bearing size? 30 mm or 32 mm?

    • @_LuisS
      @_LuisS  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there.
      My golf has the 170bhp 2.0 engine. And the bearing size was 30mm.

    i think its 120 NM then half turn, i could be wrong, check from multipul sources

    • @_LuisS
      @_LuisS  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      180..
      Everywhere I looked said 180NM plus 90°which is the half turn you mentioned.

    • @dylan3657
      @dylan3657 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@_LuisS you look strong i see the bar bending, there is no way that bolt would turn 180 degrees. and if it ment to it must be some kind of crush design for the bearing

    • @_LuisS
      @_LuisS  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Strong-ish.. 🤣
      Bolt is meant to stretch with those torque specs.
      But in the ground and without something longer for leverage it's very difficult..
      But I thought I could do better. 😜

    Always change abs sensor and new wheel bearing. The bearing ruins the sensor

    • @_LuisS
      @_LuisS  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Turns out I didn't even need to change bearing..
      But I really should've since I was already there swap the ABS sensor too..

      @@_LuisS Yeah i just tried to change the wheel bearing but both the brake caliper bolt was seazed and the M14 bolt for the brakes were completely stuck

    • @_LuisS
      @_LuisS  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @danielfl.9347 yeah.. The caliper bolts are always tricky because the head is so small and the socket or spanner don't have enough grip.
      I normally use the 15mm on the slider pin to break it loose and then remove it with the 13mm.
      Also. The M14 should be really tight. The car needs to be jacked a good amount for you to have a good leverage to break them loose.
