- On the first of September 2023, Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad launched operations for the first time since the pandemic. Now, with a newfound energy and dedicated volunteers, they're back to bringing tourism to the town of Elbe, and joy to riders and enthusiasts alike. Enjoy!

Happy to see them running again. I used to check it out every once in a while because my family had a cabin in Ashford. Hope they run sometime when i can visit from out of state.

I'm so glad to see this railroad back in running condition! My first ride there was behind their 2-8-2 #5 in July 2000.

Great video of the start of thier opening run. Love the sound of the whistle echoing off the foot hills and all the trees.
My special needs son is overjoyed 😂 to hear that the Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad is up and running again. He hopes that #17, HK Porter #5, Hiesler #91, Shay #11, Climax #10, and the Willamette will all be restored to operation, but he doesn't want that to be wishful thinking he wants it to be a reality! He also recommends FMW Solutions for help in the restorations because restoring steam locomotives is one of their primary functions.
