@@adamcordell Yes it is. I talked to Scott Gordon, a locomotive engineer at Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad and Logging Museum. He said COVID-19 is the exact reason why it shut down for good.
I grew up in the PNW and was a normal volunteer and employee of the scenic railroad in Chehalis, Covid was just a cover up of the poor management and an excuse for them to use to stop running trains, Scott probably didn’t tell you the truth because he’s not trying to make MRSR look bad. Even so you don’t have to be super involved and in the know of most railroad preservation groups to see through poor management and bad business plans. The rear reason they shut down is because the operator of the railroad that bought MRSR tried to run the business like a non-profit, but they didn’t pay for the railroad in its full value and got a multi-million dollar fine by the IRS. It just so happened that Covid was shutting things down the same time this happened, and the railroad immediately took advantage of it to close the place down
No, if you are actually a train lover and know your crossings, you would know that the rails go thru the cement. And since this is on a Go Pro, you can't see it.
The clopen is in the process of being refurbished and will hopefully be back by next season. The green coaches are out of service for the time being but might be refurbished in the future.
