i finger dance so much sometimes i try to fc and in the end i’m just busting out silly moves and getting misses…but i’m having too much fun to care :’D
As a thumb player append is so SCARY😅 i tried append once and trying to control 4 fingers is pretty impossible but i cleared it anyways (with a healer team obviously)
also really good key tip!! if youre on an ipad or iphone always turn on guided access, this eliminates the risk of accidentally swiping out of your game when playing around with play styles
My favorite Append chart has to be Lagtrain. I love how it follows the original MV and that it’s not a hard to learn chart. I was able to full combo it after quite a bit of time.
As a tablet player I actually defaulted to using my middle fingers and now find it hard to incorporate my indexes lol. It's so frustrating to have to learn new techniques after fc'ing 300+ charts in the way I've been playing thus far, but hopefully it'll pay off and make me enjoy append too.
10:18 billiam breaking it down. Thanks for the advice as usual now I will continue to avoid Append for a while, and when I do start attempting Append I'll have to finger out how to fit my four fingers on my phone comfortably because getting an iPad just for pjsk is not worth it. Plus I'm broke half the time but I try to ignore that.
Idk if anyone has mentioned this yet, but AMARA (The Great Intelligence) is really good for learning how to use multiple fingers, especially in the beginning and end of the map. I would probably only recommend going to it after the other songs he mentioned, though.
Ever since append released to jp last year, ive been practicing in sonolus from time to time and got acquainted with the mechanics, so when 3rd anniv released, i went straight into append. Charts i played were bad apple, flyway and cinema, which is my favorite chart
OMG TYSM NOW I UNDERSTAND HOW THEY CAN DO THAT KIND OF THING😭😭🙏🙏. Pretty new player here so I didn't know much about game mechanics in pjsk. Always mesmerize me seeing those hand movements like HOW??!
Append maps are so fun and creative but they're really hard to do if you're mainly a thumb player and not used to 4 finger. At least you can't fail the map so even if you can't clear it you can still admire the beautiful beatmap design.
Hello! I recommend if you want to practice append or using multiple fingers, I recommend playing rhythm plus on a mobile device! It’s a computer game originally so that means that the notes will be more than two most of the time!
How to play append 1. Hold on, this song has a new difficulty? 2. Play the Lv.28 one 3. Wondering how I only barely survived the song despite having full combo on couples of Lv.30
I'm an index only player since 2021 and I can play many 31s and a few 32s pretty comfortably but because I've gotten so used to only indexing I'm having a very hard time getting used to literally any other finger 😭 it's really embarrassing ngl but I'll make sure to make use of your tips even if my middle fingers don't wanna cooperate with me.
I've cleared like 5 lv 32's, and FC'd like 3 lv 28 songs as a thumbs only player, and lv 26 append vampire admittedly kinda humbled me 💀 don't get me wrong, I was multi fingering, but seeing myself get a game over on a song level I can full combo like it's nothing is insane 💀
knowing all the ways you can manipulate flicks makes them so much smoother. i already implemented swiping to left/right instead of doing a real flick motion everytime and it makes them so much more consistent. i can already use 8 fingers and change what ever i want since i have heavy vsrg background, but i still struggle with getting adjusted to tapping on touch screen(no springs and the input lag, cant root yourself into a key and you can drift outside the playfield etc). for some reason when ever i use multiple fingers on a longnotes i always get a miss tho :(. i guess you need to put multiple fingers before the LN is activated and not while its active? i dont fully get how longnotes work in this game.
for tricky long notes i usually place multiple fingers down right when they start. i'm not sure if that answered your question or not, but it should start to make a bit more sense after you keep practicing.
YESSS i dont play appends the best, i cant even fc the easiest one, especially because i used to always play with my thumbs and re-learning now, but they are so much fun!!!!
Ive been struggling a ton with learning append because I lack dexterity in my right hand as opposed to my left (I played a woodwind instrument for a few years lol), but I've gotten significantly better since the update first dropped last year. I mostly struggle with crosshands tbh, but I try to play Becoming Potatoes and Cinema append once a day at least to improve at what I suck at :3
I have a tip for those who struggle hitting three notes at a time: use one hand(three fingers together ) to hit them so that you won’t missclick the notes behind. Many good players don’t do it cuz they can combine with both hands easily but as a new player it works really well!!
As a thumb player I am TERRIFIED by append but I have made it my mission to beat at least the vampire on append I can beat about thirty’s on thumb and I can beat up to about twenty sevens on finger so hopefully I can beat append charts with practice EDIT: I just beat tell your world on append it’s a start I guess
my phone is so sht it wont register if i wanted to do all 4 fingers simultaniously even though ive turned off every multiple finger gestures on my android phone 😭
Lots of this tips are very useful in the video! As for someone who's never used more than two of their thumbs its pretty new to me to use index, middle finger, etc it's hard! I use to play on index but not anymore, I've been trying to practice with one finger being index and the other being middle, I'm not very sure if its a good way to try using different fingers and get out of my comfort zone of using just thumbs?
for now, since you're transitioning out of thumbs, i'd say it's viable for the time being in terms of getting more comfortable, but personally i find that it could also be better to develop index first and then slowly start incorporating your middle fingers. definitely take it slow at first, there's always going to be a bit of a weird transition period when switching out of thumbs. good luck!
@@TempestStation1 But you won't get very far. At most you will be able to clear levels of difficulty 32. Higher up the space that a phone gives falls short.
I play with thumbs on regular and when append dropped, I immediately jumped to it and I did vampire append (lv 26) and multifungering. Currently trying to do gehenna (append 30). Maybe I'll try your tip on multifingering regular charts. I feel like append difficulty levels low key feel more difficult than their non-append counterparts, but it's probably because I'm not fully adjusted yet combined with the fact they only had and still have as of when I'm writing this like 13 append charts, and only 3 of those are sub lv 30
ipad thumb player here! ive been trying to learn index+middle for the past 2 weeks and still struggling real bad just bc of control since i can still easily read my diff 31+ songs just cant tap like normal ;-;
I use an ipad and I have been struggling with append because my hands are pretty small. I feel like I am moving them all over the place. I hope I can get used to it!
I tried to play experts with 4 fingers but it was harder to just train on append when you are forced to use all for.. cuz i will do everything with intuition on expert and forget about middle fingers
I wonder is it only me that start playing with middle finger than my index finger? I’m a master rank player, I could play with 3-4 fingers but it start with awkardness
"Start using your middle finger!" Me, a phone player: oh yeah i can do that, there should be room for them "Try using your ring fingers for support!" Me: Oh hell naw
When your middle fingers are naturally curved (yes my middle fingers look like « ) » not « | » ) and even tho you’re a tapping expert and it was super easy to incorporate your middle fingers, when you follow trace notes your game doesn’t detect them for a solid frame and makes you lose your fc 😭😭😭
I wish there were more lower level append songs out on global. There's only one level 24 song and then it jumps to only one level 26 song and then after that it jumps to one 28, one 29, then 30+s which is too high! I want more to practise! :/
Do you have any suggestions for notes like at 10:04 the ones that are just taps really close to eachother? I can never get through those without losing my combo.
do you mean something like the ending for melt (master)? it's mainly just turning your attention toward focusing on the music. see if you can practice with that in mind. maybe also see if turning off sound effects can make a difference, as it helps with focusing on the music more.
those are finger sleeves, they help with touch registration and also improve the feel on the touchscreen. they can also help prevent your device from sliding around.
10:17 wow, what beautiful fingering!!
*proceeds to touch the iPad screen in horrific ways*
*_wow.. how beautiful.._*
the finger dancing looks so fun
i finger dance so much
sometimes i try to fc and in the end i’m just busting out silly moves and getting misses…but i’m having too much fun to care :’D
*breaking
As a thumb player append is so SCARY😅 i tried append once and trying to control 4 fingers is pretty impossible but i cleared it anyways (with a healer team obviously)
same o my gosh
Me for real!! The only one I cleared was my fav one and maybe the last one I will do.
also really good key tip!!
if youre on an ipad or iphone always turn on guided access, this eliminates the risk of accidentally swiping out of your game when playing around with play styles
Additional tip, you can also just turn off 4/5 finger gestures in the iOS settings app
and if no one knew that we would ned guided access when we do 4 flick notes at the same time or just swipe out
Finding out that trace notes are new after starting just a day ago is an interesting experience indeed
As a local thumb player, im checking this out with great interest, i can do just fine with hands is just getting coordination on which one to use
thissss its like having to relearn how to play
Can finally see those kinds of tutorials now that EN got an update and full combo is now possible-
My favorite Append chart has to be Lagtrain. I love how it follows the original MV and that it’s not a hard to learn chart. I was able to full combo it after quite a bit of time.

Wait you guys JUST started using your middles?
@@starpeep5769thats what im wondering lol
ME TOO IM STRUGGLING SO HARD IT FEELS WEIRD USING INDEX AT ALL. HOW THE HELL DO I DO IT
😭
omg same. i just started using my ring finger instead lol i find it much easier than using my index finger...
3:42 I highly suggest last score master for practicing 4 fingers on stairs and even 5 fingers just for the 5 note stair in the mid part
Idk why I watched this video, since I already play with 4 fingers because I used to be a 4k play before pjsk but this video is a good tutorial.
10:18 billiam breaking it down.
Thanks for the advice as usual now I will continue to avoid Append for a while, and when I do start attempting Append I'll have to finger out how to fit my four fingers on my phone comfortably because getting an iPad just for pjsk is not worth it. The best tutorial I fr need
I’ve been having so much fun with append because the fingering is just to much cooler than normal charts amd crosshands are just so fun to pull out
thank you SO much for this video the double hand thing is so freaking helpful
Idk if anyone has mentioned this yet, but AMARA (The Great Intelligence) is really good for learning how to use multiple fingers, especially in the beginning and end of the map. I would probably only recommend going to it after the other songs he mentioned, though.
You can also use sonolus as practice, the song will still go on even when you're at 0 life :3
Thank GOD i used to play like those 4-6 lanes rhythm games on a keyboard. It helped me get used to append faster
lowkey i think if you can do it future eve master is a great chart to learn multiple fingers; that and teo mas helped me the most!
i chart i used to play in preparation to append coming out was last score because of its pattern. its honestly helped me alot
Ever since append released to jp last year, ive been practicing in sonolus from time to time and got acquainted with the mechanics, so when 3rd anniv released, i went straight into append. Charts i played were bad apple, flyway and cinema, which is my favorite chart

Amazing video! I'll have to use tape, because playing append with thumbs is definitely not an option
Append maps are so fun and creative but they're really hard to do if you're mainly a thumb player and not used to 4 finger. At least you can't fail the map so even if you can't clear it you can still admire the beautiful beatmap design.
I finally figured out how to fix append on my phone and this video showed up. I will definitely do some of the stuff here
Otome dissection on master is another good one for learning to use 4 fingers.
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO I NEEDED THIS!!! 🙏🙏🙏
wish i had an ipad to fool around like that 😛 also tysm!! your advice really helped open some doors for me

i love you billiam TYSM FOR THIS🙏🙏🙏
my phone is so sht it wont register if i wanted to do all 4 fingers simultaniously even though ive turned off every multiple finger gestures on my android phone 😭
I have the same problem. 🙂
appends are literally impossible
(for me)
Same, whenever I do 3+ slides it just doesn't register at all
The only problem is my phone doesn't respond to 3 or more fingers😭😭APPEND charts are straight up impossible for me to play at that point TT
ahh.. what device are you using?
Wait what i thought ur fingers were cut off
I’m still tryna master my left middle finger since it doesn’t work as smoothly as the others

No waaayy…. I found your video and saw that you are the same guy named “billiam” on my in-game friends list………
Ofc i insta suscribed
To me i try to play with middle finger for 1 month just to get a muscle memory it was weird on the beginning but its get better as the time goes on
id be so good at append if my phone didn't fly to the side when i swipe
machine gun poem great for using different fingers
append is really just freestyle mania ☺️
ipad thumb player here! ive been trying to learn index+middle for the past 2 weeks and still struggling real bad just bc of control since i can still easily read my diff 31+ songs just cant tap like normal ;-;
I've just been playing the easiest append charts to practice haha...play it till u make it yeaaaaa
me, a thumb player who plays on my phone: mmm interesting
Looks so easy, but it's still so hard
i only play with middle finger (and sometimes ring finger when i feel comfortable) 😭😭😭😭 i know i'm crazy lmao
Also: disable 3 fingering screenshot
Trust me
Disabling that would make append 100000 times easier
finally append difficulty
I use an ipad and I have been struggling with append because my hands are pretty small. I feel like I am moving them all over the place. I hope I can get used to it!
Problem for me: I swipe, it brings me to the home screen😭
guided access
I tried to play experts with 4 fingers but it was harder to just train on append when you are forced to use all for.. cuz i will do everything with intuition on expert and forget about middle fingers
3:43 me starts thinking lag train for reference
as a thumb player who plays master and expert with thumbs. I'm fucked
4:50 Cases where you run into trouble with fingering.
With skinny sliders, for some reason I always get early goods when releasing despite not even releasing sometimes when using 2 fingers
When I played cinema append, I had a hard time doing the flicks and stuff.
playing with more than my index fingers with long ass nails is not a fun experience 😭i think ill wait until whenever they're short to try this out
I wonder is it only me that start playing with middle finger than my index finger? I’m a master rank player, I could play with 3-4 fingers but it start with awkardness
At least they have something to help mobile players 😮💨
"Start using your middle finger!"
Me, a phone player: oh yeah i can do that, there should be room for them
"Try using your ring fingers for support!"
Me: Oh hell naw
The inly append i can do (normally being a thumbplayer) is shoujo rei 💔💔💔

my ring finger wont cooperate 😭 i can use my index and middles easily but my rings just freeze
for sure, it's definitely tough to utilize the ring fingers. i think they're the weakest finger on the hand so it makes sense.
I wish there were more lower level append songs out on global. There's only one level 24 song and then it jumps to only one level 26 song and then after that it jumps to one 28, one 29, then 30+s which is too high! I want more to practise! :/
So I kinda play with my middle finger (main) and I use 4 fingers too I don’t know if that affects how I play
10:21 I KEEP LAUGHING AT THIS MY HUMOR IS SO BAD
Talk in cooked I usually use my middle finger to play instead of my index finger
WAIT THEY ADDED BAD APPLE
I can use my right middle finger but not my left one
I used to play with middle fingers so I kinda mastered both index and middle finger now, using them together won’t be a problem.. right ?
you should be okay 👍
10:57 you've got to be kidding
I also dk why am I watching this. I don't play project sekai. I play ensemble stars. With my thumbs. 👍🏻
Crying in thumbs 😢😢😢
This seems so impossible 😅
It's like watching experienced Osu players
