Timingchameleon Last I knew, he had actually died from the Legacy virus. But, I think due to an event called Necrosha X, they brought him, and a lot of other heroes and villains back to life. Not 100% sure though, I haven't gotten that far in the comics.

And by the end of the story line -- one in which the Black Queen of the Hellfire Club resurrected these dead mutants in order to sacrifice them in a magic ritual that would give her God-like powers -- most of them, including Pyro, returned to their graves.
Pyro is my favorite Chen villian in the movies. Because his story and transformation was so perfectly played out. Love this character and his on screen verison.
I always thought Pyro had a unique spin on "fire powers". He actually has the true definition of pyrokinesis. Too bad he was killed off in the comics & another of my favs from the Brotherhood, the Blob was depowered. I hope they both return to form in the comics. I hope to see these two characters in the MCU, but done right this time around.

I think that Pyro would initially humiliate the Torch by turning his own flames against him. Then in a rematch, pyro would discover Johnny Storm's lesser known powers; the ability to Absorb heat! Johnny would snuff out any existing fires by absorbing the heat and stopping them, then, without flaming on, beat the crap out of Pyro with his bare hands. It would be a real twist on his powers....

Has Marvel ever given Pyro the ability to create it? I know in the movies Magneto teases the possibility of helping him achieve that ability, but it never happened. I think it would be a pretty good story arch.
I kinda think he's an omega because basically, he can shape and create anything just by using fire and that his flames are so strong that it could even overcome rain.
