Thanks for sharing this. One thing: I don't know what you mean by "this might not be the right way" as I've done multiple searches here on TH-cam for how to do a two/multiple thread colour wrap and can't find a single video showing how to do it "correctly", let alone how to even do it at all. Yours is the only one I've found. All the other videos are on how to do trim bands with a main thread color but there's nothing on how to use multiple thread colours. Again, much thanks. I'll be doing this on my future rod builds.
Thanks. I tend to mention that disclaimer in most of the vids as some people tend to get upset when you claim to have the "best" or "right" way of doing things. Just trying to save myself from receiving some snarky comments ;)
Sorry for the delay - missed your question somehow - its just a quick way to hold the cut thread tight till you have a few wraps on the new thread to secure the tag end to. You could cut, tape the tag end down or try and hold it till you can get a few wraps down but the loop method is quicker & cleaner for me to do.
@@voodoorods8009Just found this tutorial and although I only build a few rods a year for myself and family, I find this simple trick to be amazingly helpful! Thanks for posting. Much appreciated!!!
First time watching this site...not sure of the benefits of this type of wrap...I'll watch again. You got to the point and easy to follow. Thanks.
Exactly what I need. This is slick! Thank you
Thank you sir. Great explanation

Thank You Sir, this has worked great for me.
Thanks for this man. great explanation
I enjoyed the video. I have a question though, what’s the reason for making a loop in the thread, then pulling it out?

I assume you end the purple wrap as normal with a pull through?
