Only difference for me is Silvia told me that the CPxtra needs to be decanted, so she sent me a bunch of the Bullard Bass Shot glasses. Otherwise, I do it the same way as you do and have always been super happy with the results.
I think its more of a feel thing that you deveop for yourself but I like to set mine high enough to move the thread carriage. I also want it low enough to move the guide some when I'm doing final alignment.
