  • The New Sig P365 9mm is the same size as the Glock 43 with 6+1 mag capacity but has 10 +1. This is a Game Changer. In my opinion, Pistol Carry Perfection! Big thanks for Gun Zone Deals for sending the Pistol to the Review!

    I've had a P365 for about 2 months now. No malfunctions, trigger is superb, and definitely smoothes out a bit with use. Sootch is right...No "cons" on this one.

      @@jsparks86 Yeah. SIGs are not cheap and never have been. Even their budget pistol the SP2022 is not cheap. I shot but never got a P226 and settled on a more affordable close copy in the Astra A-100 back in the 80s.

    • @rbm6184

      @Anon He was not alone. I have seen a number of gun channels that did damage to the reputation of this pistol. It was a new design and bound to have teething problems out of the gate but no one wanted to give SIG the time or chance to refine the design. I agree the pistol should have had all the problems ironed out in R&D before they put it on the market though. The P226 was a new design in 1983 and when it came out I did not hear of any problems with it when it was a new design but that does not mean in the first year or so it did not have any. We are all aware of the P226 and the game changer it was in 1983. SIG has corrected all the problems of the P365 just like they have for all their new designs including the P320. SIG is traditionally a hammer fired pistol company, not a striker fired company so this was all new for them.

      J Rods - Hey there, I hate to pay retail for anything, but in this case I made a choice as they fly off the shelf when they do come in. I called the larger gun dealer in my area (40 miles away) the day the truck came in. They said they had one left. I purchased it over the phone, drove down after work, inspected it, walked over to their indoor shooting range and had a blast!
      I can recommend this pistol, but if you don’t want to pay retail, you may have to be very patient.
      Be SURE you get the newer version with the X-ray night sights.

    Just got back from the range. They had a 365 as a rental from a shipment of 60 or so, last week,of 365's all Gen 2. I shot a rental, they didnt charge me rent. And was IMPRESSED w its range performance. The 2nd generation Sig 'X-Ray' night sights are terrific. The front n/s post is LARGE. Can read a novel by it in the dark, lol. The trigger is WOW. Like a crisp switch. ON/OFF. BANG. Its a smooth micro gun overall. Can get a good purchase w the finger rest 10rd mag. HERE IS THE KICKER. I disassembled the gun after about 50-60 rounds including a mag of +P.and some steel cased cheapie 9mm. Did NOT SEE any of the slide wear or bbl wear or any of the weird internal wear that some youtube vids showed of the 1st generation. I looked carefully and this was a dirty rental gun. No crookeed rear beaver tail area of the grip to slide. Nothing. I may go ahead and 'pull the trigger' on one. Just know I will need a micro-compact eventually. The 10 rd mag is tight. Id go 9+1. And if using the 12 rd mags, id go 11+1.

    Hi Sootch! Long-time subscriber. Love your reviews. I recently invested in a P365. My preference is an HK P30L as my go to, but for conceal carry, I am now a believer in the P365. I have big hands and when I reload at the range with my P30, I use my trigger finger to release the mag, using the ambidextrous mag release. I would suggest reversing the mag release on the P365. It should make it a little easier. You can always switch it back if it's not convenient for you. Hope you get this. Thanks for all you do and God bless.

    Love my P365, so far about 250 rounds shot so far without any issues. Carry with 147 Federal HST ammo. Even with the 12 round magazine, i can carry in the pocket with a DeSantis Superfly holster. The 12 round mag helps with keeping your pinky on the grip. Don't balk at the price as they are well worth it. Also those on the west coast with a Sportsman's Warehouse in your city, check online for you store to see if avaible, if so you can buy online and have it shipped to your store for $499. Still have to do the background check but a great way to get one at a great price.

    I dig it I fired 2 boxes through one @ my local range this past Saturday. I definitely think it’s a incredible pistol but I don’t think I’ll be putting my g26 up and buying a 365 just yet. But honestly most days I carry my m&p 2.0 compact. I’ll probably give it a little while and see how it shakes out. Thanks for the great review Sootch00 👍🏼

    I’ve got a little over 500 rds thru mine and I’m loving it so far. I just got some 12 round mags in from Gunmag Warehouse. 12+1 in the gun with a spare 12 rounder is pretty good for this size gun.

  • @ronschramm9163
    @ronschramm9163 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    it is amazing that every couple of decades or so, we come full circle on "carry" options. It used to be (when I was a kid) mouse guns were all the rage; .32 ACP/.25 ACP/.22LR - .22Mag platforms. Then came the trend for compact versions of full-size guns (Colt Commanders, Walther P1s) in full-size calibers, then we came back to small guns (Kel-Tecs, NNA mini-guns), then we came back again to compact/sub-compact versions of larger handguns. The back to single stack, larger caliber in reduced packages. Here we are again, full-power, "higher capacity" versions of sub-compacts. I understand the desires/needs of the markets, but is just seems like the basic cycle of development constantly repeats.

    General comment from the other side of the pond, from Germany, to Sootch00 about his videos:
    In addition to your excellent comments concerning the technical details and handling of a pistol and also possible disadvantages, I would like to emphasize your language as particularly commendable. When I, as someone for whom English is not his mother tongue, have to hear sometimes the mumbling, the speaking with dialect or at lightning speed on similar American gun videos, your expressiveness and especially your articulation can be singled out as excellent. For someone like me, who speaks English quite well, it is therefore very pleasant to listen to you, as you always speak very clearly and articulated. This also makes your videos stand out from some similar ones, as I said, and I watch and HEAR them always with pleasure. Thank you!

    A thorough review as always! Thanks. I really enjoyed your hands on "how to" videos several years back, but haven't noticed any of late. I would enjoy seeing some on newer guns such as installing night sights on the PPQ SC, how to reverse mag releases on the P365 and PPQ SC. They are just not out there for the newer semi-automatics on TH-cam.

    This gun replaced my pocket gun; which was a Ruger LCP II. It's only a little bigger than the Ruger; and 10+1 rounds of 9mm, trumps 6+1 rounds of .380 ACP. I'm still keeping the Ruger, and my other single stack, sub-compact pistols; because I've invested money in upgrades to all, but the LCP II.
