@@MUSiC-world-20986 He's got that Rod Stewart voice, and he's a multi-instrumentalist well versed in piano, lead, and bass guitars - some of which were never removed from the demos he brought to the band. For example, Roger plays all the guitars in the "Ride The Wild Wind" demo except the solo. Mad respect to a consummate professional and talent!
It's always a sobering thought to remember that there are 4 musicians on this stage. There's not an army of backing singers. There's 4 singers. It's drum/bass/lead guitar/piano. And the sound is so tight. And huge.
Last night I was watching this and when the guitar solo started one of my 5 month old kittens came running in and jumped in my lap. He was purring like a motorboat. His ears were oriented to my speakers. Apparently he likes Brian May's guitar sound and playing.
Rover was one of the best drummers ever❣️he was so cute too and had that awesome high voice that blended perfectly with Freddie, Brian May and John s. You gotta love Queen❤
I saw him three times !! i once found a backstage pass on the ground in Dallas 1982 but the 1980 Game Tour show in Dallas Reunion Arena was one for all ages !!
This Performance is a masterpiece, the perfect example of making hit song better, he turned a soft sang song into a booming anthem, one of my all time favorites, his passion is unmatched ❤️
Not true. Roger sang around A4 here. Which Freddie also sang quite a lot in this performance, in the first verse Freddie also sang a Bb4, which is a semitone higher then A4. The highest note on this performance is Freddie with two G#5, that is almost one full octave higher then the A4.
The drummer is Roger Taylor, he also plays guitarr and piano as well, and he is amazing singer, go listen to his solo stuff, or his singing with Queen, maybe famous "I'm in love with my car" live at the same show in Montreal!

1:16 I just love the look to camera as if to say "Prepare yourself" 12:30 Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), Roger Taylor (drums, vocals) and John Deacon (bass). Roger is responsible for a lot of the higher harmonies you hear, especially on Bohemian Rhapsody, as you probably saw in the movie
Amazing reaction, and I have to say, it's refreshing to see someone paying atention to the band, not only Freddie (even if Freddie was more than great, Queen would have failed if any of the four were missing from this, because all of them played an integral part on its success). So, I'll put some more information for you: The drummer, Roger Meddows Taylor, was "Queen's secret weapon", like someone else commented here (I'm on the mobile, so, I'm sorry, I'm not closing this to look for the name, but I liked it, it fits his role pretty well). He has this super high voice, and his falsettos are fabulous. Even today, as an old man, he still has this amazing high raspy voice, even if the falsettos are now lost (his smoking sadly did it). He still has a voice of an angel, and his drumming and guitar playing is a work in its own. And his songwiting is wonderful, he made many great Queen songs. Oh, and just a little trivia, his guitar collection is actually the biggest of the entire band (even Brian, the guitarrist himself, can't match its sheer numbers. I did read they're still competing over it, by the way). John Richard Deacon is a wonderful bassist, a great songwriter (he didn't write as many as Freddie and Brian, but almost all his songs became successful hits) and basically is the typical shy "normal person" on such a band as Queen. However, he was the one behind almost every important decision of the band. He was normally the calm part who decided the winner on a fight, or could totally stop the band on their tracks if he sensed something wouldn't work. He's a financist at heart and even today, retired as he is, John still takes care of the band's finances. He also invented the amp both he and Brian use, the Deacy Amp, and it's actually one of the best amps on the market today (after many years, with John's blessings, Brian let some specialists open and restore it, and patented the mark on John's name). His only frustration is, according to him, "he couldn't sing" (people used to suggest he could get some lessons from Freddie, and his answer was "it's even worse if it's him, I can't start comparing to that!"). By the way, that's actually a lie, he has an adorably uplifiing singing voice, as we can see in some very special momments where he actually won against his shyness and sang alongside the band... or the rare instances when the mic on his side was accidently left on. The guitarrist, Brian Harold May, has an unique guitar playing skill, like his handmade guitar and his amazing and endless songwritting skill. He also plays a tons of different string instrumments, like the harp of Love Of My Life and he also plays piano as well (Freddie loved it, because Brian could get to the piano in shows for Freddie to "play the audience"). However, he's a wonderful singer too. Even when Freddie and Roger smoked to get the "raspy" tinge to their voices, so desired in a "rockstar voice", Brian totally refused to do it (his dad smoked himself to death, he never smoke and was very against it since forever). So, his defiance mainted his voice clear as a crystal. He has a wonderful soft voice, lower than the others, very tuned (to the point of, without meaning to, completely exposing Luciano Pavarotti's semitunes when they sang together), but he can raise it almost as much as Freddie and Roger could, and the 3 of them worked on harmonies perfectly. If Freddie's throat wasn't good during a show (a problem he always had), Brian and Roger could always get the vocals for as long as needed for him to recover and get to it again. On Live Aid, Freddie was advised by medics to not perform, and now we know, all 3 were ready to get to the mics for him at any momment (even Mr-I-can't-sing-John-Deacon sang on Radio Ga Ga and made the song's choir even more uplifting). Freddie didn't need it, but they were ready just in case. That's one of the wonderful things about Queen. They always acted as a single unit, they protect each other even today, and are always ready to stop everything to help eachother. For example, remember when I said John was behind Queen's financial decisions? The entire band actually broke contract with Trident when they refused to pay John (his just married wife was pregnant and he tried to buy a home for their family, just to discover he wasn't paid a single cent, even being one of the most successful musicians at that time). The band broke relationships with Norman Shefield when he dared to suggest they could just replace Brian when he was dying on hepatitis, and continue touring America without him, and refused to treat him in America to boost, even when he was swimming on the band's money and with a shiny new car (actually putting Brian's life at risk, because the band had to endure a looong fly back to London for him to receive the first medical care, an aditional time that almost cost him his arm and his life). And they totally obliterated every single person who slurred Freddie and his memory (including some very close friends). That's what true friendship looks like.
The drumming is what first got me hooked on this song!! I love the beat! Freddy was on another planet, level, however you want to say it. Truly angelic and powerful voice. Great reaction Bisc.
Both Roger on drums and Brian May on lead guitar are still touring as Queen and going strong well into their seventies...check out Queen Official for some amazing solo works. Rest In Paradise beautiful Freddie 🥁🎸👑🎤🎹❤️
Legend has it that the reason he carried the microphone on the pole was because one day he went to grab the mic off of the stand and accidentally pulled the whole pole out with it, and immediately realized it made a great show prop. Queen - a band of geniuses. Drummer is the great Roger Taylor.
so glad you recognized roger taylor's(the drummer) vocals. so many people react to this and only see Freddie. Roger has to harmonize with one of the greatest vocalist of all time and he not only holds his own but stands out. brian may is no joke on the vocals as well. there is no backing vocalist or band its just the 4 members of Queen, the greatest band ever. And i say that with them not being my favorite band(GnR). but their diversity and skill level is unmatched
What is almost never commented on is that when Freddie holds onto the word "Lord" (6:04 in this reaction), the feedback from Brian's guitar is in tune with the vocals, thus providing another 'voice'. To have that sort of control to produce that is quite remarkable. This is just another example of the complex and rich sound just the four of them made live.
In all honesty every member of the band were epic in their own right. Put them together and you have extraordinary. Even quiet John. He was an amazing base player, but is very unassuming and quiet, but boy could he play. They all had the best of the best skills. I loved queen. Still do. Freddy may be gone, but never forgotten. ❤❤❤
Isn’t Freddie amazing?? And kudos to Brian, Roger, & John for being the great musicians & songwriters that they are!! BRAVO!! Somebody To Love is my favorite song! Freddie had commented it was his favorite song, too! In every live version Queen adds “secret sauce” … Yummy goodness!! 👑
I love YOU for Loving QUEEN ! I am 62 and discovered them in my early teens. And had all their albums on Vinyl. Sadly lost now. But I spent NOT Hours or days Listening to their Music BUT WEEK AFTER WEEK. All my Fam thought I was crazy and Feddie was wierd. NOW `WE` ALL realise he was SO SPECIAL. SO SO VERY VERY VERY MUCH MISSED. There will NEVER Be another FREDDIE xxx R.I.P. you queer s.o.b.
Same concert, DRAGON ATTACK. Every band member has a shining moment in the spotlight . The lyrics will seem cryptic but reflect their time in Munich with its wild club life and intense studio time with Reinhold "Mack", their producer. Freddie's alpha persona is center stage. The studio version is a gloriously extended version for the ears.
Aaawwww… then you (almost) would have to be my age. The first time I saw them live was at the (RIP) Rainbow Theatre in London 1974. I was sixteen at the time and that concert was the first time I travelled abroad (from Sweden) just to watch a rock concert. Took a cheap inside shared cabin on the ferry from Denmark, slept at a really, really cheap hotel and loved every minute 😉😁👍
11:00 not only his own guitar solo, but it was played on his own guitar. Back when they were starting out, he didn't have money to buy a guitar so he and his dad built one out of a very old fireplace mantel, motorbike springs and his mom's knitting needle back in 1964. He uses the same guitar on stage for most songs even today ( plus some replicas in case the strings break on the real one, which will be used for one or two songs until his tech restrings it backstage. )
Freddie said in an interview that somebody to love was his fav song. The entire gig in Montreal 1981 was amazing, Freddie simply a monster. Suggest you Dragon attack from that gig
If you wanna see more of Roger Taylor the drummer, i suggest you to react to "Killer Queen & I'm in love with my Car Live at Montreal" Which Roger singing and Drumming there in the second song in that video. Also "In the lap Of the gods Live" but not the Revisited Version, his falsetto will blow your mind away. Thank you
I think this is the best performance I've ever seen, hands down. 1981, no auto-tunning, no fancy tech making it sound good, just a historical concert. PLUS, your rolling Rs just kill me❤️
Now that I've been subscribed for a few months, I have to say your ears are getting a lot better at picking the music apart and identifying certain things. Kudos.
@@lukaz3883 Freddie Mercury - wrote Bohemian Rhapsody Brian May - wrote We Will Rock You Roger Taylor - wrote Radio Ga Ga John Deacon - wrote Another One Bites The Dust
The only thing better than this is seeing them live in concert…I’m glad I grew up with Queen…One of the best groups and artists ever🤘 Great reaction, even better taste…
This performance IS perfection. But you can not believe everything in the movie. It misrepresented a LOT of things. Timeline was not close to being correct or even possible. Great reaction! Check out “Love of My Life”, “Another One Bites the Dust” and “Save Me” from this concert in Montreal. Also “Under Pressure” live at Wembley. And “In My Defence”, which is a Freddie solo. They’re all awesome. Queen never gave a bad performance.
This is how you perform live. Queen were the complete package, better than The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin etc. With Freddie at the helm they were just awesome. Gotta love Roger Taylor (my inspiration to learn drums) as drumming & singing is a hard thing to do but he nailed it perfection. Queen are simply the GOAT rock band.
👏👏👏 This is one of the greatest live performances ever. Roger Taylor is the drummer and he is one of the best singing drummers. You forgot to mention John Deacon the bass player, who was (retired in 97) a great musician, but his persona was really shy, he was greatful for playing in the band, although he was the band's secret weapon, he wrote e.g the Another One Bites The Dust. Please, check out the Dragon Attack at Montreal 81.
The most impressive thing to me is that they are jamming live on stage and are always so in sync that they get somewhere. For most it’s already difficult enough to reproduce the studio song live but to go somewhere with spontaneous with it is amazing.
Another iconic performance by Queen , which already took the spot down in a music history books 🤘🤘🤘 Brian May ( electric guitar) John Deacon ( bass guitar ) Roger Taylor ( drums) Freddie Mercury ( vocals , piano) all four of them are one big musical and fashionable god 🤘🤘🤘🤘 such a great reaction by you Busscite 😁😁🤘🤘 can you please make a reaction of Queen song called Dragon Attack , live in Milton Keynes in 1982 😁
Consider for a moment, that the lyrics can be taken two different ways. Freddie could be asking for "somebody to love", looking for a partner. Considering he was bisexual and a rock star, it was a struggle to find anyone to share a true moment or emotion with. But then consider also that he struggled with serious issues of depression, self esteem, and self-doubt. He could be asking if "anybody can find ME, somebody to love". Doubting that he is worthy of anyone loving him, asking if anyone could find him worthy of being loved. I've loved this song for years, but that new way of looking t it has brought it even close to my heart, as someone who also struggles with depression.
It's funny how their performance is so well tuned that even small problems don't get noticed. It seems that no reaction video seems to notice that Freddie's impromptu audience interaction is actually about Brian having some trouble with his guitar. You can see Brian walking to his guitar technician and when Freddie sees that, he starts to entertain the audience and buy some time. You can also see him checking on Brian and as he returns, Freddie moves on with the song. So well executed that no-one seems to realise what happened...
You're wrong. That's not what happened. Brian knew that Freddie was beginning his part of the song where he interacts with the audience and kind of freestyles a little. So he knew he had time to go tweak the guitar a little bit because he must have noticed the sound was a little off. All he did was take advantage of a minute he had. Freddie was doing that either way.
I like your accent...my wife is colombian..she has one too....this band one of the biggest in the world...freddy could have sang opera if he didnt join this band....his voice amazing indeed.
This is easily one of the top 10 love songs ever. Another one on that list would be "Nothing Compares 2 U". The original is by Prince but it has two covers that are especially amazing and well known (Sinead O'Connor and Chris Cornell - SiriusXM). Would be cool see a triple reaction :O
Hi love your reactions..actually this song was written by Freddie as a tribute to Aretha Franklin..he had hoped that she might sing it some day..it has a real gospel feel to it.🤩
This as all of their songs, in my opinion, are better live. I was them on this tour, for the Game album, in September of 1980 at Madison Square Garden. I also saw them again at the Garden in 1982. I strongly request you react to another song from this show. It's called "Save Me", it was a new song off the Game album, in fact the very last track. You won't be disappointed, trust me young lady. I've recommended it to other reactors and it blew their minds. A little Queen trivia each member, Freddie, Brian, Roger and John, all have at least one #1 hit.
I went to the eagles concert to watch 6 guys standing still singing beautifully direstraits same thing but Fred oh boy I wish I could've been at one of his concerts it would've been well worth the money to watch him strut across the stage for 2 hours
Of course none of us have seen every live act that ever was. But surely Queen must be one of the best, if not the best. I understand they had the best equipment money could buy, and the best sound technicians. Obviously. But still. It remains a mystery how four guys could reproduce this music live, and leave the audience feeling they just heard the best version of all the songs. It has a lot to do with three of them being excellent vocalists. But mostly it is to do with their musicianship and how extraordinarily well they played together. Add Freddie’s unsurpassed showmanship, and you have a show for the ages.
The Greatest Front man and band in the history of music people will still be talking about and listening to queen and freddie in another 100 years probably the only band and lead singer that actually sounded better live with no Autotune or any other post production effect... just pure raw talent from the entire band.
No question regarding Queen. Do check out live recordings of other bands though because there's a ton of classic rock bands who outperformed their recordings on a regular basis.
Roger is a Rock n Roll BADDASS! I still listen to all his solo albums. Still, another one you’d be impressed with the harmonies in their Studio albums. Your gonna wonder why you robbed yourself of their studio work! WHOLE DIFFERENT ANIMAL!!!
Great performance choice and great reaction. Bisscute - at some points it was like you were making love to the music 😊 your whole body was involved. That's how a really great singer, rhythm and song can touch you, and Freddie had that passion and yes, a seductive energy and charisma. The whole band created a complete sensual experience for the mind, eyes, ears and body here! A rare thing to find these days and no drum machines, no auto-tune, just pure talent! I'm glad to have grown up with great music and bands like this to form my youth, and so pleased to see younger generations feeling the same excitement and joy from the experience too! 🤩

And you just don't get 'used' to that amazing voice. At least I'm still blown away after many years of listening.
I Love Freddie on piano, too!!!!!! 😊😊😊
By far my favorite Queen song. Freddie Mercury was amazing! I can't even accurately articulate how many emotions this song makes me feel.
Thanks for react, Biss🤘🔥
PLUS, your rolling Rs just kill me❤️
I loved it when you said, "he's playing the crowd". Freddie himself, admitted that his favorite instrument, was the crowd.🎶
And he is so good at it too
You smiled the whole way through. Everyone does. Many fantastic performances from this show.
I've seen a lot of reactions to this video but you're the first person I've heard about all the work of the whole band.
Now that I've been subscribed for a few months, I have to say your ears are getting a lot better at picking the music apart and identifying certain things. Kudos.
It is fascinating that musicians of such high talents have been together. We will not see such excellence again.
Watching you get right into the rhythm you have now joined what we used to call the headbangers.
All four members of the band has wrote a number 1 song.. That's rare and impressive. Thank you for this amazing reaction
Which members wrote what?
very rare and very impressive, don't know if any other band outside of the Beatles achieved that fact.
@@lukaz3883
Freddie Mercury - wrote Bohemian Rhapsody
Brian May - wrote We Will Rock You
Roger Taylor - wrote Radio Ga Ga
John Deacon - wrote Another One Bites The Dust
@@m1co294 For example Deacon wrote You're My Best Friend and I Want To Break Free.
Freddies stage presence and the way he works a crowd is legendary and Brian can make that gee-tar sang
A little bit of respect to John Deacon on the bass. He and the Drummer worked together like a clockwork.
The only thing better than this is seeing them live in concert…I’m glad I grew up with Queen…One of the best groups and artists ever🤘
Great reaction, even better taste…
Impressive performance live !!! any day you feel down , play Queen you won't go wrong !!!
Freddie was a master entertainer his vocals were amazing one of the greatest performers ever. RIP
This is a true masterful performance. And Roger ROCKS.
I love Roger's voice, try "Under pressure" Wembley 1981, Freddie and Roger rock 💜
Love watching your reactions and the pure joy you get out of the songs I grew up listening to
Thank you for sharing
Thank you for being here ❤️
i was in the crowd for that show. fun fact, the price of the ticket was $15.00. The drummer has one song, '' im in love with my car'' great song too
Queen was my first concert!!!! I was in the 5th grade. Never been to a better one since. new subscriber now.
Thank you so much ❤️
The greatest rock band ever!
Another iconic performance by Queen , which already took the spot down in a music history books 🤘🤘🤘 Brian May ( electric guitar) John Deacon ( bass guitar ) Roger Taylor ( drums) Freddie Mercury ( vocals , piano) all four of them are one big musical and fashionable god 🤘🤘🤘🤘 such a great reaction by you Busscite 😁😁🤘🤘 can you please make a reaction of Queen song called Dragon Attack , live in Milton Keynes in 1982 😁
Great performance by a great band!
They were always communicating with each other in that way.
Thank you for pointing that out. I see it now that you said it.
That’s amazing! Never noticed that, thanks for pointing it out.
Thanks for pointing out. You are very sharp
The way this young lady rolls her ‘Rs’ is beautiful
Hahaha I get that a lot
This is easily one of the top 10 love songs ever. Another one on that list would be "Nothing Compares 2 U". The original is by Prince but it has two covers that are especially amazing and well known (Sinead O'Connor and Chris Cornell - SiriusXM). Would be cool see a triple reaction :O
Love your reaction! Queen definitely makes you feel their music. Love when people get into it lol
1 Special cut from the drummer in tribute to Freddie is called "Old Friends"; I'm sure you'd love hearing his tribute
Hi love your reactions..actually this song was written by Freddie as a tribute to Aretha Franklin..he had hoped that she might sing it some day..it has a real gospel feel to it.🤩
Definitely on my totem of all-time favorites! Awesome reaction. I will always enjoy it, haha. Cheers! 🤘🏼
Thank you ❤️
Queen was an amazing group! Brian May is noted for being one of the best guitarists ever. And Roger! So talented
Freddie was the greatest showman in Rock history.
Listen to "save me" same performance you won't be disappointed
My fave song ❤️❤️❤️
Nice reaction! Now you have to hear "i want it all"
Greatest front man in the history of rock!
He is one of a kind that’s for sure ❤️
I went to the eagles concert to watch 6 guys standing still singing beautifully direstraits same thing but Fred oh boy I wish I could've been at one of his concerts it would've been well worth the money to watch him strut across the stage for 2 hours
This is just about as good as it gets. The perfect live performance
Add Freddie’s unsurpassed showmanship, and you have a show for the ages.
best band ever in the uk for me still listen to them regular
The Greatest Front man and band in the history of music people will still be talking about and listening to queen and freddie in another 100 years probably the only band and lead singer that actually sounded better live with no Autotune or any other post production effect... just pure raw talent from the entire band.
No question regarding Queen. Do check out live recordings of other bands though because there's a ton of classic rock bands who outperformed their recordings on a regular basis.
This is why we love LIVE music:)
If you're impressed by Freddie's vocals, you must watch his performance in opera singing with the song "Barcelona" in duet with Montserrat Caballe.
George Michael version at Freddy tribute concert is amazing too
The only person to ever come close...
Roger is a Rock n Roll BADDASS! I still listen to all his solo albums. Still, another one you’d be impressed with the harmonies in their Studio albums. Your gonna wonder why you robbed yourself of their studio work! WHOLE DIFFERENT ANIMAL!!!
At lasttt bisscute.. i hope u will enjoy this. This is music at its finest specifically this performance. This is how music should sounds like 😘
Great performance choice and great reaction.
I really enjoyed your passion for great music and phenomenal musicians!!!
I'm so glad you spoke about Roger Taylor. Everyone always focuses on Freddie, but Taylor has such an incredible voice himself.
Да, это выступление одно из любимейших! Ещё можете посмотреть Dragon Attack также из Montreal 81. И White queen Hammersmith 75! Вы прекрасны!!!
