I have built hundreds of models on this and I have ordeered none of them, I always just take a screenshot. It's really fun building them but they are a bit too expensive to order them all )-:
Nate, I'm sure you already know but Hero Forge added the option for transparent plastic! You can make things like spells, gems, glass, and the like see through!
The advantage here is you can create your miniature exactly as you envision it. It’s completely custom. You are not paying for a miniature. You are paying for a company to bring your own custom vision for your character into physical reality. These tools cost money, and each miniature they produce is specific to the vision of the individual creator.
@@WASD20 Wait... we can custom? 🤔 (sarcasm) Actually my vision have not cancer, nor my web browser. Like I said, there is a HUGE difference between what is on screen and the real miniature. Yes the tools cost money, but in fact it's the customer who pays for them in the end... so he might want something qualitative, don't you think? But still, I pay for a tiny custom _miniature_ and if the _miniature_ I receive is bad, no matter the custom, I can't enjoy it. $20 for a custom pose on a _miniature_ worse than a D&D Wizkids pre-coated hurts... but *_$40_* for a tiny _miniature_ that you have to *repaint* because it's grained as hell... how about no. 😕
Well, it’s not just a pose here. It’s every minute detail. And the details actually show up quite well. I have not had any quality issues, and I don’t get special treatment because they were sponsor. This is one I ordered on my own last year. th-cam.com/video/wl2dGxrNWCM/w-d-xo.html
so cool!, interface is easy to use and understand, options are amazing! could get lost for hours on this! fantastic creative program - lets you produce such amazing custom minis
Yes yes absolutely yes I’ve been using hero forge for ALL of my main characters for my fantasy game and now that the 2.0 released AND there’s a SALE going on now, I will most definitely be buying at the very least FOUR of my characters this month.
I actually use hero forge for VTT minis. Even going as far as to bring them into photoshop, drawing over them with some line art, to help them match the style of my other tokens
It's a great tool. Keep in mind, if you design any character in Hero Forge, then Hero Forge owns that design. So if you want to use it to get images of characters for any commercial use, you can run into legal issues. So be very careful if you use it in a DMs Guild product, an OGL product, a paid DM gig, a livestream, etc. Check with a lawyer before using any character design you build on Hero Forge.
I use a program called Rhino 3D to scale my characters. I don’t know if anyone else out there uses this program or any other program that can do this? Just curious 🧐
I’ve made at least 150 models on this, I’ve been using it since it was made. I can definitely say you’d be better off using this instead of anything else.
Only been using hero forge a week now made a squirrel folk barbarian/fighter dog and cat person (duo) a robot tiefling my active d&d characters Burnzbunz (tiefling wizard) Honey Pie (chef: wizbard) some old OCs from my hobby of writing: human and non human versions of the 3 sisters. the entire 4 in my merc squad plus a new robot to round it out (U-99: Maz, Al, Doris, Sayvo, Droid) then there is... a dragonkin-beastman otter (debating if look is correct). a chill lizard merchant ... myself. yeah. Think i may have a new addiction. need to figure out which ones to buy first... and figure out how to do so without going broke.
Pretty much humanoid things, but definitely some monstrous species. It’s free, so can take a look for yourself! They just did add some insect creatures. I think they have centaurs too.
I can see the appeal of using this tool. Personally I just dont like the bulky and oversized weaponry and armour. I understand it has to be larger for printing. But eh. Just my opinion I guess.
None of the color printed minis that I've seen from other people that have ordered from HF look that detailed and nice. They mostly look faded and stubby. I suggest to get the stl. file and print them elsewhere.
If HEROFORGE would sell their stls for $1 or $2 each they would clean out. Most people doing patreon/MMF for stls would stop, and would just start designing their own minies to 3d print, but as is, they are way to expensive so they get just a tiny fraction of what they could be getting, they need to think walmart of stls, and look how large walmart is.
Hi my brother is a huge fan of yours. His name is Logan and he's 14. Every day for he has to play d&d and he loves it. He loves your videos and watches them all the time. I know this is a big favor to ask, but could you give his a shoutout in your next video? It would mean the world to him.
they send out such amazing prints to their sponsors and then send everyone else pure trash. My order looked disgusting and there was almost no definition to it at all...
Downvote because Sound. There's something like watching your video before uploading and deciding "Thats good or not?". If you're serious with this you probably listened on headphones and thought "Yeah, I hear it, thats okay". Please, reconsider. If you can't mix/master there's a simple 'over-the-thumb'-rule for TH-cam. Aim for roughly around -8db with no peaks above that (Limiter) so a constant sound-loudness/strength is given. Usually you master music-tracks for around -12db but TH-cam seems to be... strange, as usual. dB? -dB? That? Look in your general audio-mastering-tools like the open source program "Audacity". There you can see the typical green-yellow-red lights that measure dB (dezibel). The main problem with many content creators is that they, unbeknownst to them often enough, blast your eardrums out because they were on around -20db and you pump up the video only to run another video that mastered audio perfectly. Great at nights... Another tip is 'clip-microphone' if your other solution(s) aren't good enough for your situation. Put it on your shirt and boom, you are heard as if you would stand right next to somebody. Thanks for your content and stay crunchy.
Watch out! You’ll loose a full weekend to messing around in heroforge. More addictive than a game of Civilisation.
Truth!
Yes
I've litteraly threw away entire days on it
First part is true, but I'm not sure about the second part
I've never played DnD, but love messing around on this ahah
The transparent background screenshot is really neat!
Right!? Super useful. Could even see myself using it for random video thumbnails.
Finally a well done Heroforge video where it shows the creating process and the figure afterward! Awesome work, mate!
Thanks!
I have like over 300 models on here, you could say I'm a bit addicted. lol
Lol!!
@Wrathful Coma omg that's genius! And expensive. Sheesh
Same

same here.. I’m waiting to see if I can scrape together the funds to order a couple of my favorite models 😅
Had no idea about all these updates! Thanks Nate!
I used to play around with hero forge for ages. It can keep you entertained for a LONG time.
I genuinely have no idea why your channel isn't more popular. I am 100% clueless.
I feel the same wat

Yes! Super cool!
Waiting on 3 more to come in this week. The new additions are limitless! Much appreciated Nate as always!
My brother told me about hero forge today. It's so cool! I spent 4 hours nerding out on it. Really fun, I completely recommend it.
Very cool I'll check it out. I think I would use it for decor as well.
Cool video. I love the updates. It's been awhile since I checked out Heroforge.
I love using Heroforge as a reference tool for art because I can play with lighting and poses and things.
Hero Forge is awesome on the web but when it comes to reality, it's very very expensive and the result is more equal to a $5 miniature.

WOW, they have gotten alot better. Going to have to try this out

You sold me in the first minute

Love Hero Forge! My new Wood Elf Rogue, Taris Rask, is coming in today! Can’t wait to get home and see him!
Awesome!
Did you like the way he turned out
Yea, I've been using Heroforge for a few years now. Backed the Kickstarter for colour figures as well. Fantastic service.
i recently made my pirate parrot on here, twas awesome. im a bit sad that you can only have two colours on the wings, but its understandable :D
I agree, it's an amazing tool. Wish I had a 3d printer though! Thanks for the video!
sweet, not what i was expecting. thanks for the review

Proud two-time Kickstarter backer.

Love your vids keep up the good work.👍
Dude I love this I defiantly want to check this out
looks great! Excited to try it out.
Just cleared out my backlog of minis thanks to the sale
Great review.
Now what type of tool or site would you recommend if I wanted to create ‘animated’ characters, as opposed to 3D style miniatures?
I’ve made at least 150 models on this, I’ve been using it since it was made. I can definitely say you’d be better off using this instead of anything else.
Have they changed the user agreement or are they still claiming copyright on everything you create using their tools?
No idea!
Hell yeah bro paint
Thats acctually a good deal
What color theme was your dwarf?
Im tryna copy it
Not sure, sorry! My son actually madevv Vh that one. :)
Just bought two. 😁
You ROCK man !!
Great vid, Nate! Also, what's your take on Tasha's Cauldron of Everything?

i love this character creator! looks great and everything is amazing! but when you order your figure, it’s kinda misleading...
What's the limitations on it? Can it do monsters or just humanoid things?

i havnt seen a map video in a while
Uh, The video before this one? Two weeks ago. :)
@@WASD20 youtube notifications are a bit iffy :|
I’ve probably created over twenty characters on Hero Forge. Too bad I can’t afford any of them.
Is this just to make mini figures or is it mini figures for certain games?
Really could be for any game. Seems like the creators mostly have in mind tabletop RPGs.
This would be very good if you are terrible at drawing and you are making a TBRPG character
None of the color printed minis that I've seen from other people that have ordered from HF look that detailed and nice. They mostly look faded and stubby. I suggest to get the stl. file and print them elsewhere.
hi nate
Hi
Lol I was just making a character, and than this came out
Desktop heros is cheaper and is just as good!
I have spent so many hours on this thing.
I got my girlfriend addicted to this recently, she says she already has a dozen or so in only a few days.
Its still too rubbery VS my resin
So expensive
