Lol! I'm probably the only one that can go faster and enjoy this stroke the most. To me this is warm up and relaxing style. But! My peers may opine differently. Great video and I do get lost on an open pool, for sure, but I swim under a roof regularly:) strange to see such few positive comments about this style, I love it!
One thing I have yet to see in any back stroke video is about why is it so difficult to get that top side shoulder out of the water. In freestyle, your shoulders are pretty much on top of the water to start with. Getting the top side shoulder out of the water to reduce drag is fairly simple. With back stroke, your shoulders are several inches lower in the water to start with, so getting that top side shoulder out of the water for reduced drag is more difficult. A shoulder shrug/extension as you come over the top helps a little bit. As far as I am concerned, I think it also helps to use a little more body rotation with back stroke than with freestyle. Freestyle is about 35 to 40 degrees. I think back stroke should be about 45 degrees. I do breathe on every arm pull. I tried to up my tempo, and that just made me burn more O2.... I have never understood why backstrokers will finish the pull with a down ward push. If a freestyler was rotating their palm like that, it would be corrected....
Backstroke is the most difficult one among the public swimming pools. Most people think it's simple and easy. In fact, it's not common to see a good backstroker. My thought is that it's unnatural. We move straight forward or face down.
Backstroke is hard! I feel like it’s the stroke I’m underwater for the longest and it requires me to kick the most. Nothing about it is recovery for me. Free is the recovery stroke
keep it up MySwimPro !!!

This video couldn't be more helpful with the timing specially intrams are open thank's coache❤❤
Backstroke at noon on a sunny day is brutal, you need the darkest goggles possible.
Get up earlier and swim at dawn

I tried backstroke in beach swimming when rip currents were present. I was carried away quite quickly. scary.
