Team Associated Reflex 14b on 3s

- I had been wanting to put a motor that can handle 3s in the reflex 14b. So I stuck a dynamite 4500kv motor in. (DYN4830) Nothing crazy but it really come alive on 3s. Temps did get a little hot so i would recommend gearing down if you try it out. I think I have a 16 tooth on there. For some reason youtube would not let me put the last 30 seconds of filming in where i was getting temps. The motor was at about 180 and the ESC was at 142 Fahrenheit.

Nice build. I went with a QUICRUN 2435 SL G2 4500kv for my Carisma GTB, it is a close equivalent of the DYN4830 but I like Hobbywing quality. I have the dynamite in my mini 8ight so I'll compare. Can't wait to build it 😍 cheers!

Stock reedy can handle 3s, just swap esc
Good tip, I went for the Castle Creations Micro 2.
So have you figured out a solution for the spur always stripping. I changed my motor and esc but don’t get much time with it before the Spurs stripped.
That motor mount isnt the best. I left my mesh a little less tight than usual to give some wiggle room if the motor shifted during bashing. And make sure your bearings are good along the center driveshaft

Are those 1 18 ruckus tires on the back? Did you put foams in them? yeah I had 2 of those fuze motors in 6000kv, both snaped the shaft, too long too narrow dia. Nice build and video.
Those are actually some no name tires that I got from buying a 1/16 slash on eBay. They remind me of bad trenchers

There both cool cars but I have had a lot of issues with the mini 8ight over the years. I have probably rebuilt both diffs at least twice. No issues with reflex so far. It is just a little smaller than the mini 8ight tho

nice video. i've been upgrading parts on mine recently. i put in the metal diff gears on the front and rear and rebuilt the center diff as well

Where did you find metals diff gears would love I get some for mine . I haven't had a problem with my diff gears yet but I still would like to upgrade, the problem I have the most is the motor seems to get loose I don't know why and that makes my spure gear get stripped smh. Also looking for better servo but I can't seem to find any upgradeds

The stock motor has a 2,3mm shaft. The Dynamite has a 2mm shaft. Did you use the original gear with the dynamite?
I did. I don’t remember any issues with that
Man I've had 2 of those dynamite esc and motor combos burn up on 3s. Horizon told me I shouldn't run it on 3s in my mini 8ight t. They did warranty it but they said only once just because it does say 3s on the esc
yeah I have had one of those motors go out on me too. I just happened to have this one laying around. The temps got real hot so we'll see They need to just put 2s on those things. Bash on.
@@bretrishelrc9789 I went with the velineon set up out of a 1/16 erevo on my mini 8ight t and that thing flys on 3s now. It actually beat my kraton in a drag race. I will say the kraton was catching up but its hard to find enough room at those speeds.

I have seen all your videos about this little gem! I want to buy this, but this is my first RC and I have a newbie question. Why doesn't this accept 3s Lipo's out of the box? The stock ESC has a label on its side that says 2S - 3S, so should it not be compatible? Is the 2s limitation on the motor? Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated... any of you TH-cam viewers - I don't know who else to ask!
Yes 2s is the limit’ on the stock setup but you can run 3 on it if your careful with temps.
The limit is technically on the motor.
Stock esc actually won’t run on 3 I think sry

Yes I did ur technically not supposed to run 3s but it’s watch motor temps and You will be ok.

No it wasn’t. But the stock is a 4500kv and the one running was a dynamite 4500kv.
Stock pinion and spur gears?
Stock spur but I think the pinion was 1 or 2 more teeth than stock. I actually need to do a revisit on this video I had the wires backwards on the motor.
Seems weak. I've got mine on 3s and it just wants to wheelstand constantly. I did put a 2845 motor in though.
I later realized I had 2 motor wires backward and the throttle switched so it was running I’m backwards. I should prob just take this down
Was slow on 2s and 3s. I thought radio throttle adjust was turned down. My son has this car.
You got a dodgy one thats only half speed for standard.

@@celticsoldia you know what, it seems to scream in reverse had me shaking my head. I think you just helped me figure it out. I was wondering if the motor was shot because it came out of a mini-8 that i couldnt remember if it had problems or not. Thanks for noticing
