- Reviewing the competition. The Team Associated 14B is a nice buggy but is it worth the price?
I have more ugrades in the mail for this buggy to level the playing field.
Out the box, its the most expensive one I bought given the fact the Rlaarlo buggy I got on steal of deal on.
Pros: the buggy is nice, its very light, perfect tires, handles great, comes brushless ready to go.
Cons: the small body pins, does not come with a battery like the typhon and rlaarlo, the range is much shorter, the transmitter could be a lot better,
Plastic differentials
Cant wait to see what it does on 3s.

Parts availability is something you should consider when buy any of these buggies😉
Your right, parts are important. But out the box, rlaarlo takes it. Its the fastest and built for 3s. Arrma got it on upgrades and parts. Team associated is the smoothest drive, with the best tires. Wish they had more upgrade parts. If the 14b cost the same as a grom it would be #1.
I can’t find no 16bl30 on Amazon for one day delivery, I got cheapo esc in my grom and I think it’s dieing, won’t output power to motor hundred percent so goes slow, I used a 3s with it when I crashed it at 40mph and since it went from full throttle to dead stop mighta burnt it up or motor gone but I got extra motors
You check the diffs?
i had the reflex 14 , it is a smooth awesome car, handles and drive better than the grom. the issues is the parts are hard to find , limited upgrades , and the battery mount is a deal breaker!
Yeah. Its smooth for sure, upgrades are limited too. I solved the battery issue. Lol. Just use velcro. Lol. Im on a hunt for metal diffs that i can retro fit in it. I know one of these chinese rcs with metal drivetrains can be modified to fit. Because this plastic stuff aint it for the long run.
Kinda hard to tell from the video but is the typhon the same size as the 14b?
yup.. only difference is the 14b has longer arms.. typhon grom sits a lil higher. but they are the same size. all three of them
does that rlaarlo have Phillips screws?

Typhon having rear diff issues for a lot of people including my wife. Her rear diff blew in less than a week running exclusively at the skatepark.
Still waiting for replacement. On back order everywhere. None to be found. 🤬
aww man, yeah that sux.. thats why i went with hot racing diff lockers in the rear. eliminate the gearing completely. in the front, I have the upgraded diffs now. my local hobby shop and a set in stock and i zoomed to go get them before someone bought them. but if you cant get the upgraded diffs go with the diff locker.. they are on ebay. 16 bucks

are the stock tires on the typhon same size as the reflex? If so are the tires closer in size to the front or rear of the buggy? And which is better for harder dirt, the reflex tires or typhon? Thanks.
Closer to the rear size of the reflex. On dirt or grass go with typhon. Smoother surface like street or carpet racing , go with reflex tires.

Yeah they will fit 12mm hex. I got them from amainhobbies.com they BSR racing 1/10 scale on road wheels. Fits like a glove.
Watch the center diff bearings, all on internet about them out of box locked up or freezing up and going bad on the 14b TA
Bearings? There are bearings in the diff or the ones on the outside by the diff cups? These little joints are new to me.. still a lot to learn. But if you ask me anything about 5th scales, now thats a different story.

not worth it bro, they are to short in the rear and springs are way to soft for the 14b
