Simon made a huge mistake by drinking beer during the match, he would have done much better with whiskey. On that note they should play a match where the winner of each game takes a shot just to balance out the advantage.

Thanks for the massive show!! And thats was a perfect example of how at a match at some point a psychological breakdown destroes a strong opponent. I think such thing happend to Spasskiy in his match against Fischer. And maybe a couple of times to Karpov. And almost everytime to a weaker player.

I don't know that well Jerry S. (only a bit from Curb Your Enthusiasm in 7th season). So can't say about Jerry, but I really enjoy Larry David's sense of humor both in tv show (glad they are making 9th season) and in real life.

It is unbelievable the way Simon has played some completely won endgames ruining them for no cause at all! Finegold is resourceful indeed, but not so much to hold those endgames, Simon was psyched out!
If you watch a lot of his videos, that's how he always is. He talks to his children's classes like that to and I think it is great at getting them to learn and make chess fun for them.
I hope the cultural overlap is large, though I wouldn't necessarily consider myself part of cannabis culture. I play very badly while high. I have a definite tendency to space when I'm stoned so calculation is harder to initiate, and what I have calculated, I may or may not retain a few moves on.
