I have yet to use the senior citizen discount, I just never think to ask for it. I just celebrated my 62 birthday on July 4th. I prefer seeing some movies at the IMAX theater, I saw Midway and Hacksaw Ridge 2 times each. My kids loved the drive in movies when they were young. I would back my truck into a spot at the back row, and we would sit in the bed. I am looking forward to taking my granddaughter to the drive in a few years from now. Beautiful job on the tow truck 🛻

Nice job as always John. A saying you might like from us metal workers is "Keep it as long as you can for as long as you can". It makes working on a part much easier if you have something to hold on to and don't cut it off until you absolutely have to

John, I know what you mean about the movies, and all the extras, we are fortunate to have a vintage cinema in the town from 1931, it's true it's seen better days, and also that when there are dual viewings you can hear the other film during quiet phases, but it's ours and it's still quite cheap !
The truck came out great, from a time where you still needed some imagination to play !
Beautiful blue skies there, we're back to windy and changeable !

A "geezer discount" is great. I save 10% on my groceries on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I saw Planet of the Apes in 1968 in a theater in Stamford. The end was a shock. Hubley made very realistic cap guns in the 1950s. I got a similar wrecker in 1954. It had a hand cranked winch and a two legged boom. It is one of the few toys that I still have. The other is a Hubley Navy metal model plane. My uncle gave it to me and said that it was a model of the plane that he flew in the Pacific in WWII.
Very nice job. Good Video. Two weeks to Zagray. Good Luck, Rick

You did a wonderful job on the truck, Scout. The boom came out excellent. My wife and I enjoy going to the theatre. We plan which show time, usually the earliest and strategically choose our seating, which is typically the last row in the middle or near a handicapped seating, depending on how the theatre is designed.

Welcome to the ranks of us senior citizens! One of the few benefits of getting old is the senior citizen discount. I also have not been to a movie in a theater for a long time. It's just not the same. I miss the days when my brother and I would spend all afternoon at the movies when the weather wasn't nice. They would run continuous double features with cartoons and short films in between, and you could sit wherever you wanted.

When I was 50 my niece was getting married. I decided to buy a new suit since the one I had was almost 20 years old and had been bought at Sears. My wife and I walked over to Kohls and found one that fit and looked good (to us anyway). When we went to pay for it, the cashier gave us the senior discount. My wife asked how old did you have to be for the discount because she wasn’t yet 60. The cashier pointed to me and my wife added “ He’s younger than I am”. The cashier needed a manager to remove the discount and was reluctant to call the manager over so I got my first senior discount.

Nice job on the Hubley John. I really liked your boom better than the stock one. Hey, I just wanted to tell you that movie popcorn was actually a deal.....here in Nor Cal the biggest popcorn at the movies was $11.75 last time we were there, which has been a year or so. But here's your pro tip (LOL): if you get the biggest one, they give free refills, so we always get a refill when going out the door after the movie, because movie popcorn is still great the next day! (We put it in a big ziploc and it keeps fresh quite a while).

Hi John, hope you had a great 4th celebration. You did an amazing job on that truck. I’ve watched a lot of U-Tube videos that restore Tonka Trucks. It’s great to see these toys come back to life. Your job is right up there. The boom came out great and good tips. In the industry that’s called “Order of Operation”. Great job as always. Hope it isn’t as hot in your neck of the woods as it is here. Heat index about 110. I wanted to get come cleanup in my steel building shop, but 115 in there when I opened the overhead door and that made it a like better. I went out and bought a pedestal fan. I picked up some socket organizers. I bought at Harbor Freight US General rolling tool box and am trying to fill it so I have an Identical set of tools in my garage shop and my steel
”Fabrication Shop”. I’ll start filling up the socket organizer tomorrow. Thanks for another great video. Always love seeing Old Glory to end thing off right.

When they took the big screen as well as the old interior design and stuffed 3 or 4 in that was to much. Have you tried any high build primer or primer filler? Nothing like a good Scout Crafter video to get me all fired up...
The movie thing did it for me.. After the 10 dollar bag of popcorn I was seeing red... And then picking your seat by computer, that did it..
I haven't been to the movies in probably about 10-15 yrs.. I think I went and saw The Passion ... I see lots has changed since then..
Btw, that truck restoration turned out beautiful.. How did the tires come out?

The hot water really helped then some 50/50 mineral oil and Vaseline helped.

That was a wonderful restoration, like the new color and the boom. I, always, liked Tootsie Toys of that era. How was the movie? Was it full? How was the popcorn, get a refill? Did you like your seat?

Popcorn is best freshly popped. This popcorn was made within the month. 🫣😂👍

OMG Scoutcrafter. I had to listen to these stories out of my dad about how he could take a girl to a movie in 1951 with $5.00 in his pocket, get the tickets, buy popcorn, and still have money left over! 😵‍💫😡 Meanwhile if I went to a theatre with five bucks, and then asked the gal with me to pay the rest; I'm quite sure a second date would be out of the question! 🤣

If I go to the movie theater and the guy behind me starts coughing on the back of my neck. I have to go back to lobby and purchase a different seat?

Ten dollars for popcorn, a drink and ticket. Why are people staying home and streaming or buying the movie outright watching in the comfort of their own home…very curious. Nice work on the truck!

Okay Tool Brothers I'm gonna let you in on my Free Tool Honey Hole, go over to TwoSaw Acres and write "Enter Me" on his latest video, he's giving away a box of 7 tools next week. I've already won 5 tools in 4 wins from that channel so I just wanted to give others a chance but I am entering again too.
Movie food was always crazy expensive so 10 Bucks isn't too surprising in today's economy. I just buy the 2 pound bags for a couple of bucks, pop my own and pirate movies. 😂🤣
