John, since I discovered your channel last year, I have grown to enjoy every one of your posts. You are such a friendly, likable, self-deprecating guy. Watching your channel is like hanging out with a good buddy. Not to mention the fact, your sense of humor catches me off guard with the hilarious memes you use to illustrate your narrative. Thanks for the entertainment and education.
Those screwdrivers are cool watching your channel has made me an avid collector of vintage tools I’m a mechanic anyway so I love tools now I have so many projects to restore it’s crazy lol
I'm with you seeing a dermatologist. I had a spot on my left ear, the same place my dad had skin cancer, and an inflamed hair folical behind my right ear. Doc took both, and the ear was clean, but the hair folical was basal cell carcinoma. It was a full cubic centimeter and growing against my skull. A month later, they took the 10 mm margin around the incision, and it fortunately came back clean. Now I get to be fully inspected yearly by the dermatologist, yay. I guess it's worth it if I get a few more years.
They found a Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer tumor on my tongue and did the same thing. They took a big chunk. Ate very little, too painful. Lost 12 pounds right quick.
My screwdriver collection went from 215 from the "How many Screwdrivers are enough?" video to 310 today (all USA Craftsman additions). I blame you John! My wife thinks I'm crazy..she's probably right. Those red handled screwdrivers look very tempting. 😁
This was a great tutorial! I enjoyed every minute of it but I have to say those screwdrivers were really nice. I am going to look them up. Thanks for sharing this.
Fantastic episode Scout! I’m old enough to remember when pumps only went up to .99 9/10 and when gas got over a dollar every station had to change their pumps. Guess they thought gas would never get that high. Friend’s father owned a service station and said it was a big expense back in the day. Thanks! 🇺🇸
I would never skip the intro!!! its like ignoring a friend when you get together. How did you align the tips? did you use the Dake? did you grind them into spec.? was it Scoutcrafter Magic? I look forward to coming home from work every MWF to watch your videos! Thank you for sharing your time with us!!
Patrick! Once I removed the half round tensioning bar the dividers came together nicely. I believe the keeper was pushing the dividers out of alignment. 😃👍
You are not ridiculous .... You are .... uh .... tool prioritized inhancedmented. Ya, that's it! Good job on those road rash dividers. I always enjoy your show, ScoutCrafter and I would never skip ahead. All the best.
Well, I bought a set, just what I needed….now to find a way to get to the UPS guy before he delivers them and my wife finds out….geez Scout, you really know how to spice up my life!
What a great show you took a 10 dollar set of dividers and made them look like a set Starrett made. And yes growing up I was burnt to a crisp all summer long. Those screwdrivers 🪛 are beautiful Thank you for sharing your talents with all of us.
Great video ScoutCrafter! Hope all went well with the dermatologist. The picture you showed of a diner at 2:23 is the Rock-Cola Cafe in Indianapolis, it’s one of my Dad’s favorite restaurants. They don’t make their own root beer like the place you visited but do make a chocolate “soda” similar to Yoo-hoo, called Choc-cola.
Liked and could relate to almost every aspect of todays video, especially the sunburn segment. Just like you, I always spent the first day of vacation getting blistered and then several days suffering and peeling! Seemed to be part of the summer vacation scenario. I'm also a big fan of hole-in-the wall diners and little family-run restaurants. That one looked great. The tune-up of the dividers was super....really improved them. Looking forward to the leatherwork show. Keep up your gibberish. It's what makes your show so real!
I went to Harbor Freight yesterday to buy a new #2 Phillips screwdriver and on sale was a 12 piece set of cushion grip screwdrivers for only $5.99, and they're not half bad, that's about 49 cents each ! Someone once said you can never have too many screwdrivers (:
Don't cut yourself short we all like your gibberish. Dammit now I had to buy those screwdrivers and I have more than five people need.! you really did a great job on those dividers. Great video thank you and take care.
Great job on those Dividers! The screwdrivers look like lollipops! That's why they tug at our hearts! We all have things we can't resist! Stuff that looks like candy is top of the list! For me it's the old musical instruments! Tough to find for 27 bucks, though!
Back in the 60's and 70's my dad used to make his own sun lotion - vegetable oil and vinegar. He always had an excellent tan. His mam and dad owned a fish and chips shop so he had a ready supply of the ingredients.😂
The re-do on that junk tool was wonderful. It is amazing that someone actually would offer it for sale. Growing up I would sunburn several times a year. Who known how many times and if it was deadly I should not be alive now but then again I drank out of a germ filled garden hose every day too.
A 50's Diner? Did they have SPAM and eggs on the menu, a grilled cheese sandwich or the "Blue Plate Special"? For readers that don't know, that was using a casserole with succotash and a dinner roll. After "Supper" you went to the Gulf gas station removing your gas cap (that was a red shop rag) filling the tank with Ethyl gas (20 cents a gallon) and put some in the Folgers Coffee can to use washing car parts at your buddy's place later.
The golden years are wonderful for doctors. I have my dermatologist too for a few years. The dividers, without you they would definitely be in the garbage can. You put a hundred dollar saddle on a ten dollar horse. Your pride in workman ship prevails again. I like your screwdriver set, I cannot justify another set nor have room for them in my tool boxes. As always enjoyed your show. Thank you
Fantastic episode scout !! Loved every second, those dividers sure came out nice ! The screwdriver set is most definitely a “looking” set , far too nice to actually use
I have to stop watching your videos (lol Never) but I am getting tired of buying stuff I don't need because you maybe the best salesman on youtube. I do love the Work pro utility knives, thanks, The dividers are in the mail.
I love the gibberish, keep it up, I’ll listen all day long. The dividers came out beautiful, excellent job. The screw drivers are very nice looking and what a marketing strategy they have, hhmmm, do I dare go on line and take a look, there might be a set in my shop before long, what maniac doesn’t like screw drivers by the dozens? 😮😊😂 thanks for the video, good show today, enjoyed it, gibberish and all.😊
Ridiculous or not you crack me up John, my wife asked what I was laughing at when I was watching your pictures about sun-burn - we've all been there - "lobsterville" ! What a shame that it has become necessary to finish tools off yourself, the woodworker Paul Sellers recommends certain affordable tools as being like a kit that you can finish off - following his advice I bough a sliding bevel which was pretty average, but by time I'd softened the edges, polished the brass and sanded and re-finished the stock it was as good as any 5 times the price ! That S/D set is £31 here, I think they must use the exchange rate the wrong way round !
Wreath episode John, I will send you a photo of my two vintage gas pumps. This best job I ever had as a kid was working two summers in a Mid Continent gas station 1954 -1955 . C
Great episode today! I did what my Spanish friends at work did and used a layer or two of cotton and a big brim hat for sunblock. Best sunblock you dont have to buy. Long sleeves are hot however you dont feel the sun cooking your skin and my coworkers would water down their clothes from time to time. Theres many nuances to how we survived our day but I never got sun burn using their method. Love the $10 forty dollar dividers 😂!
I like to hear your stories before the project - when we spoke last week I had to go to the dermatologist for something I don’t remember if I told you about that- A friend of mine has a few of those Original Gas Pumps ⛽️in his double Car garage which is also his workshop but he put a separated wall up so all his Gas - Oil- Vintage Signs-old toys etc… so it doesn’t get dusty . Next time I go there I have to take some pictures and send them to you 🤜🏼🤛🏼 thanks for the video Johnny ttyl
How can you remember how many times you got sunburned! Hope your exam went well. I hate those urges of wanting something when you really don’t need it. Seems wanting is more than half the fun. Enjoy 😊
In the 60's where I lived there was a large Basque community. They never sunburned but would put iodine in baby oil to achieve a particular skin tone. I thought :why not?". Needless to say that my Scot/German paleness not only burned, but the skin tone color was not desirable either. 🥵 I never skip past your "gibberish". I love the rants and monologues, because they are entertaining and you are spot on with your viewpoints.
You are nailing it SC! I've been looking at dividers, as I went to use mine a couple of weeks ago, and discovered they'd been damaged by riding 100,000 plus miles in the bottom of my toolbox in the back of my truck. So I go looking, and I'm steamed to see that to get comparable now I'm looking at $75!!! Geeze, I better start taking better care of my stuff! And those screwdrivers! I love 'em! My GF just got me a new set of Craftsman for Christmas (which look exactly like the good old ones from the 70's, but I suspect they are not, we will find out) so I better not buy those...but what a great deal!
Great video. Glad you mentiond dermatology, young people also have skin problems these things have to be talked about. As for the screwdrivers, the pleasure is in the having. Remember me in your will😇
Great job on the dividers! Cool screwdrivers too. That little devil is talking in my ear now. 😆 If you’re not considered a little ridiculous, are you even doing it right? Take care 🤣👍🏼
I’m so pale I burn under a 30 watt bulb. My half Italian mate watched me burn and turn red in under a half hour sitting at a bar on Brighton pier years ago. He still talks about it now😂. I have a lot of hats.
I love sarsparilla! I travel from my home in Virginia to my old Navy buddies house in Florida just to go to the local flea market, which sells Sarsparilla! Worth the trip.
Fun video. Thanks. I have that same pair of dividers/compass from HF. Thanks to you, I might try to clean them up so I won't feel so bad putting them in the drawer with the B&S, Starrett and Craftsman dividers and calipers that were my father's.
John are you kidding! Who would ever skip ahead 4 1/2 minutes of your video. There would have to be something wrong between your ears to do that! Lol. I usually watch your videos twice. ✌🇺🇸
The dividers cleaned up very well. Nice job. I do love the screwdriver set. If I were starting out I would have to get this set. I am doing my best to exercise control............. Dave.
As always great show and SC you never talk jibberish. They screwdrivers look great, but, I do not need anymore screwdrivers _ hammers, that's a different story!
Wow it's been a long time since I've seen something finished that poorly...........I've been getting many fine tools from the Orient lately from one of the discount sites that's been having crazy good sales of all kinds of stuff for $1.99 and really impressed with the quality of most of the stuff I've been getting....Just one example is a set of 4 centering hinge drill bits for $1.99 and I couldn't believe how nicely machined & finished they were.
I got the 6” and 12” at harbor freight for less than Amazon. They are handy to have great price to value and they even have a loop for a pencil so it can double as a compass
Not ridiculous at all, I love tools, especially older, well made tools and I have doubles, triples and quadruples of everything. Whu? because I like them,; good enough reason for me.
My favorite gas pumps were the Sunoco pumps with the different grades of fuel that you could choose..they were from the sixties with the top grade fuel being Sunoco 260..
Don’t worry about being “ridiculous”… All us old Veterans are ridiculous for giving our country a blank check to cash in our lives if needed…. I wouldn’t want it any other way!!! The old Army Scout
I remember as a child (it must've been in the 90's) refusing sun block. I had blisters all over my face the next day. I felt horrible. My parents even went home a day earlier from vacation, to make it worse. Though now again I agree, I don't trust anything they promote heavily!
Great show! Loved the diner! I am a redhead - I spent most of my youth sunburned! I see nothing ridiculous or maniacal about you, but I see it in others! I understand the attraction to those red/orange screwdrivers. Thanks for the show! How is Pipes?
When I first started driving the bus back in the mid eighties a stunning Redhead got on the bus, her eyes were emerald green. Like a young Maureen O’Hara. Only saw her once but never forgot her. 😃👍
I checked out the screwdriver set. And see that R'DEER has a bunch of interesting stuff. I've bought two or three things you mentioned over the years. I was sorely tempted for a few. But I have screwdrivers. Just not as nice.
I love the opening discussion. Well done on the dividers. I love that set of screwdrivers. How is the quality? They look a bit like a set at Harbor Freight. I, too am a sucker for buying tools. My wife usually says something more tools?
I am a huge fan of the gibberish. Please keep being ridiculous. Off to order the screwdrivers. Looks like they will make great ScoutCrafter approved gifts.
When I was in my 20’s, I would look at the list of diseases on the medical forms and not know what half of the diseases were and only a few diseases applied to me. Now, I know over 90% of the diseases and have about half of the diseases.
Did you say skip the gibberish???... Your stories are The reason I look forward to every Monday Wednesday and Friday!!
Thanks so much Mike! 😃👍
Are those dividers the beginning of a series, “Restoration and Improvement of Modern Items “? Love to see that.
There's a great idea. I would watch that series.
I could not resist. I ordered those screwdrivers that I surely don't need.
Those screwdrivers are cool watching your channel has made me an avid collector of vintage tools I’m a mechanic anyway so I love tools now I have so many projects to restore it’s crazy lol

I didn't look away, I just ordered those screwdrivers, and now hold you responsible. Nice going!!!!!!!
arrghhh i did too.
You can’t blame ScoutCrafter. You were warned!
Fantastic episode Scout! I’m old enough to remember when pumps only went up to .99 9/10 and when gas got over a dollar every station had to change their pumps. 😂👍
Well, I bought a set, just what I needed….now to find a way to get to the UPS guy before he delivers them and my wife finds out….geez Scout, you really know how to spice up my life!
😂😂😂 John- We need to attend the Tool Addicts Meeting.

Thank you for sharing your talents with all of us.
Nothing is more humbling than a trip to the dermatologist!! It's worth it melanoma is no joke.
Can't skip the Gibberish, that's the best part of the video!!☻

Awesome! I love seeing new tools modified. That extra work makes such a difference. Great stuff. Cheers
Boy, John, what a nice job on those dividers! BTW, I never skip your commentaries, they are the BEST parts of each presentation. Love your show!

Stupid... "like eatin' bad blowfish". I'm still chuckling over that one. 🙂 Thanks for another entertaining video. Yours are the best!
Screwdriver set - go for it. Awesome. Dont need any more but like you I am ordering a set. Except I wont be telling anyone 🙂🙂
I have to stop watching your videos (lol Never) but I am getting tired of buying stuff I don't need because you maybe the best salesman on youtube. I do love the Work pro utility knives, thanks, The dividers are in the mail.
She sounds more like a wife than a girl friend...lol... Love that old diner/restaurant.. See you Fri...
I made a wooden display holder for my favorite screwdrivers, every time I walk by them they shine back at me under the cellar lights.
I love the gibberish, keep it up, I’ll listen all day long. The dividers came out beautiful, excellent job. With a little elbow grease you can have a respectable tool collection that would be cost prohibitive. 😃👍
Wreath episode John, I will send you a photo of my two vintage gas pumps. This best job I ever had as a kid was working two summers in a Mid Continent gas station 1954 -1955 .

John, if R’Deer couldn’t sell these red clear-handled screwdrivers to you, well there would be no hope for them! 🤣
😂😂😂
you should buy more of those Chinese Dividers fix and resell
I like to hear your stories before the project - when we spoke last week I had to go to the dermatologist for something I don’t remember if I told you about that- A friend of mine has a few of those Original Gas Pumps ⛽️in his double Car garage which is also his workshop but he put a separated wall up so all his Gas - Oil- Vintage Signs-old toys etc… so it doesn’t get dusty . Al- You’re too young for a dermatologist! 😃👍
Heyco makes a nice screwdriver set. Very affordable. They are a German company, and the handles are emerald green(acetate).
Beautiful makeove John. And as you say, 'you only live once' - if they give you a little unadulterated pleasure go ahead and enjoy your scewdrivers.
How can you remember how many times you got sunburned! Hope your exam went well. I hate those urges of wanting something when you really don’t need it. Seems wanting is more than half the fun. Enjoy 😊
Sgt Fury and his Howling commandos. I used to read those along with Sgt Rock and The Haunted Tank 😂
In the 60's where I lived there was a large Basque community. They never sunburned but would put iodine in baby oil to achieve a particular skin tone. I thought :why not?". I love watching cheaply made/finished tools turned into a great usable form! Nice!
Fantastic job on the dividers Jon. Lovely screwdrivers as well buddy stay out the Sun🤣👍

Great video. Glad you mentiond dermatology, young people also have skin problems these things have to be talked about. As for the screwdrivers, the pleasure is in the having. Remember me in your will😇
I remember years ago we had Acne, the rich kids went to a dermatologist and the rest of us bought Clearasil. 😂👍

The dividers turned out great! It was an all a round great show today! Thank You for sharing!!
Quite the Mosh! I thought it was Monday again
Those screwdrivers are nice. Wasn't expecting that type of quality. 👍🇺🇲👊
Oil used to come in glass containers.. My father would only get engine oil in a can. He thought the glass bottles might just be filled with used oil.
When are we gonna see the Scoutmasters tool box in all its glory?😊
I’ll take another side of gibberish to go. Yea I like that dinner too !
That Diner looks like my kind of place Mr. John! Good Stuff Brother!
What sort of maniac doesn t already have a set or two of orange handheld screwdrivers ... On the shelf next to the flight recorder box .. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Say hello to the owner of another set of screwdrivers I don’t need! Couldn’t resist and love the color.😂
It’s a little more orange than the camera shows but just beautiful! 😃👍
you did good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!your my brother !!!!!!
John are you kidding! Who would ever skip ahead 4 1/2 minutes of your video. There would have to be something wrong between your ears to do that! Lol. I usually watch your videos twice. ✌🇺🇸
I'm ridiculous too lol
Awesome screwdrivers!
Love the screwdrivers 👍 and I do the same thing with lanterns obviously but you really wowed me on making an excellent fix on those dividers 😮
The dividers cleaned up very well. Nice job.
I do love the screwdriver set. If I were starting out I would have to get this set. I am doing my best to exercise control.............
Dave.
wow one of you best videos Thanks Ed Loretto Ontario Canada
OK john saved in my to buy list on Amazon. Love the handles.
As always great show and SC you never talk jibberish.
They screwdrivers look great, but, I do not need anymore screwdrivers _ hammers, that's a different story!
always love the gibberish...
Sites like Ali express, banggood and more are eliminating the middleman and the deals are beyond incredible.
I live in OK, been to the Route 66 museum a few times, never knew that was the largest pump. Guess I should pay more attention next time I go back.
AA Meeting:
"Hello, my name is John - and I am a tool o' holic".
Yes!!! After the meeting we could have a swap meet! 🫣😂👍
Perfect opportunity to use the Dake
Nice screwdrivers, Now I need to get a set. Thanks.
The Screwdrivers Just got delivered to my house 2/9/24
Good way to improve on some cheap divider's and like the red handles and the gift they was was also nice and good business
Beautiful screwdrivers.
I got the 6” and 12” at harbor freight for less than Amazon. They are handy to have great price to value and they even have a loop for a pencil so it can double as a compass

Hi John. Great video again. 👍👍❤...
I remember as a child (it must've been in the 90's) refusing sun block. I had blisters all over my face the next day. I felt horrible. My parents even went home a day earlier from vacation, to make it worse. Though now again I agree, I don't trust anything they promote heavily!
Too much sun is really bad- however I never trusted sunblock. My dad was a lifeguard and they used to put Zinc Oxide on his nose. 😃👍
Great show! Loved the diner! I am a redhead - I spent most of my youth sunburned! I see nothing ridiculous or maniacal about you, but I see it in others! I understand the attraction to those red/orange screwdrivers. Thanks for the show! How is Pipes?

Would love to see you do some leather work! I got a pair of cheap dividers from Harbor Freight and they weren't too bad for China made!
I have a few Asian Dividers and they are very nice! 😃👍
I checked out the screwdriver set. And see that R'DEER has a bunch of interesting stuff. I've bought two or three things you mentioned over the years. I was sorely tempted for a few. But I have screwdrivers. Just not as nice.
That's some pretty communadium there.
Great show John
Translucent Red and Green give them a professional look
The dividers look great now!
I love the opening discussion. Well done on the dividers. I love that set of screwdrivers. How is the quality? They look a bit like a set at Harbor Freight. I, too am a sucker for buying tools. My wife usually says something more tools?
Paul- They seem like decent quality, not fantastic but it’s hard to find the old school design that I like. The real test is how the tips hold up. 😃👍
Hi John great purchase 👍👍👍
Can't wait to see what you will Show us next week with these dewiders
I am a huge fan of the gibberish. Please keep being ridiculous. Off to order the screwdrivers. Looks like they will make great ScoutCrafter approved gifts.
The screwdrivers are great.
When I was in my 20’s, I would look at the list of diseases on the medical forms and not know what half of the diseases were and only a few diseases applied to me. Now, I know over 90% of the diseases and have about half of the diseases.
😂😂😂. That was the best thing about being young! We were bulletproof! 😂👍
Darn you, John now I need a new set of screwdrivers. Do you have stock in Amazon? Lol.
