I had this weird thing with a girl. I asked her out when i was 16. Am kind of a wimp, no style, no haircut, acne ridden face. Naturally i got rejected. She was super nice about it, and i didn't think much. All i thought was "i needed to improve to win over this girl". I still wanted her. My second to last year in high school, i completely transformed. Built some muscle, revamped my hair, cleaned my face, and found my style. By the end of that year, i had genuinely improved so much, i thought maybe she'll say yes. But i did decide to take my IT graduation exam one year before high school ends, as it would lighten my schedule during my last year. It went super well, by the time i got the results i was already on vacation with my friends. Was feeling incredible. I thought "I'm gonna work on myself this whole summer and when i go back to school, i'll ask her out to prom". Last year of school begins, turns out i was a little late. Most people already had their prom partners, including her. I was like "aight, it is what it is". But i was still so emotionally tied to those images i dreamt up of us laying down on the beach in peace. It bothered me so much. I've made so much progress and became so much better since i got rejected, i asked her out yesterday. "sUrELy i'M sO MucH bEtTeR nOw, aNd sHE onLy rEjeCteD mE fOr pRoM cuZ sHe hAs A pRoM pArTnEr aLreAdY". I'm 18 now, a completely different guy compared to last time. Looks better, feels better, infinitely more confident. Got rejected again. Since it's her last year aswell, she thought she wouldn't be able to fit a relationship into her life and needs to focus on the exams. I felt defeated. Like my 1,5 years of progress meant nothing. But at the end of the day, i just kinda had to let her go. I feel a bit empty. All my friends have girlfriends, and i'm jealous. I worked so hard, yet i'm the only one who didn't find my high school sweetheart. I was so laser focused on this idea of companionship that i'd fallen behind a bit on my studies. Now that i know she's out of reach, i know that i'm not gonna get a girl in high school. I need to study, pass my exams and hope that i'll have better luck in university.
Although i'm not entirely sure about how i feel right now, the thing i do know is that it's better to get rejected than it is to infect your mind with a relationship that doesn't exist. Stay strong fellas. Thank you Jak.

You need to keep in mind that some girls just aren’t meant for you. Shit you could’ve made the absolute most amount of progress someone could theoretically make mentally, physically, and emotionally, and she still would say no because she isn’t the one for you. It’s not meant to be.

Similar experience. Had a girl last year in freshman, and man was she special. I met her in biology and I kind of just clicked with her. Well, at this point it's been a week or two since I've met her and me being me I had feelings for her. Well, one day I'm at school and biology class rolls around. At this point I'm walking down the hall almost at my turn and all I can think about is how much I'm excited to see her. So I get there and we are talking like usual when she pulls a note card out and writes "I have something serious to talk to you about." And she usually jokes around like this so I reply jokingly. After some words she asks me if I like her. I freak out and say no (horrible mistake lol.) Fast forward to the end of the year she meets one of my at the time friends who I don't get along with anymore and long story short they like each other and start dating. Still are too. But something unusual happened. This year earlier during my sophomore year she texts me asking why I never told her I liker her when she asked, and I told her the truth and then tells me she felt the same. And surprisingly still does. Which is kind of weird but whatever. Now, she has been doing a lot of questionable things and I recently got in a bit of drama including me and them which has no pretty much ended.

Recently, I was thinking about this subject a bit, which made me feel off, kind of like how you felt, but a bit different. Dude, I can't thank you enough for this. Im a junior in highschool, and ive been seeing all the people around me start getting girlfriends and boyfriends and dating and all that stuff. My younger sister has a boyfriend. All of it has made my self esteem tank. I feel im worthless because i dont have a girl. But i understand that only time can tell if im ready to get a girl. I feel you, i was with a girl for 6 months. The relationship began really quickly just a week after we made acquaintance, i realized the relation was toxic too late because of different issues she had with her mental health.
I broke up with her it was really painful both for her and me, but in the end i know i made the good choice because i was really sad with her.
All that to say know the person before getting in a relationship it will really help solidify your decision, don't rush.

Makes it to highschool, addicted, started working out and started playing sports found out I was bad at any sport I tried out for. 12 months later after working out I found out basketball was the sport still heavily addicted to such a disgusting bad habit. finally resassuring myself this isn't good for me and I should stop, failing countless times with my recent max being 1 week. Dude, I just want to say thank you so much for this video. I use to do stuff like you did. I use to talk to girls online that i didn't even know about things that i shouldn't be talking about and I only quit a few months ago so I'm still recovering from my stupid choices. after watching this video, I feel infinitely better and somehow i don't even feel the urge to go back on that path. about a month ago, i was a the movie theater and after the movie was over, i saw one of my friends walk out with a girl and for the rest of the week i felt like crap. but honestly after watching this video and seeing that pretty much the same thing happened to you i feel much less alone and i know that i'm gonna get through this. This feels so personal. For some time now, I've wanted a girlfriend, but it's been very hard since, firstly; I go to a male private school with no girls, meaning that I haven't had much chance to interact with many, and secondly; I'm a very socially awkward, wimpy, and lonely kid who doesn't have many close friends. I only really have a group that I sit around but who don't invite me to catch up outside of school. On top of that, I feel like I have a distant relationship with my family, where we have differing ideologies and contrasts in ideas, though, I'm unsure if it's simply puberty which is making me feel like that or if it's a legitimately weak relationship.
But going back to the topic at hand, I sometimes hear my "friends" talk about their girlfriends as well as other friends they have who are girls, and since they appear to have far better social and emotional wellbeing, I believe that a girlfriend will help me out of this slump in my life. After enough time of nothing, I've started to desperately want a girlfriend even more. So much so that I've had phases of having imaginary girlfriends of fictional characters as well as fantasising myself with celebrities that I admire, but these haven't really helped. I've somewhat told my counsellor about my lack of friends, and they've mentioned how it'll get better when I go to University and be with people who share interests, since I'm very unique and distant like that, though, that's still 2 years of loneliness, which I always hope to diminish with a girlfriend.
Though, I've noticed that I'm unsure whether I deserve a girlfriend or not. After reflection, it feels like I never blame myself for my loneliness and always use life's circumstances as a reason, along with how I feel like I need to improve. However, it feels like that my anti-social skills can be fixed with better social relationships. Case-in-point, a girlfriend. But it also feels like I'm not going to get a girlfriend unless I improve my social skills.

So while they at 15 would still have been underdeveloped mentally, they had probably been working for multiple years at that point. The average 18 year old 100 years ago probably had twice the level of maturity of the 18 year old in a 1st world country today

Jak Pigott. After all this worry, thoughts and urges, all these toxic thoughts, my mind snapped at 4:50pm and I felt like I've lived a new life. My tears flowed down my face, I felt like God gave a miracle. I've never felt such happiness in a long time.

Me and this girl have been liking each other for about 4 years when all of the sudden her spark went out, she didn’t like me she didn’t even want to talk to me. I am now depressed because not too long ago my mom had a miscarriage, I am overweight, and I feel like my friends leave me out , like I will say hi they would say hi then leave to talk to another friend I have even just started a conversation but they end it shortly after to talk to someone else, and now this. I have been fighting for the past 4 months feeling alone. I have started working out and I am trying to strengthen my friendships, I am hoping this video will help me get over this girl.

Man, jak, how did you do it? Like, you found that motivation and just managed to get it. You struggled, but you managed to get over your lust. I've been addicted for 3½ years and have been in therapy for 3 of them and still haven't managed to improve (im 17 btw, 18 in October). Maybe it's my reason. Maybe it's because I like it more than I'd admit, and maybe it's because I don't want to give up on content that has some sexual jokes and stuff bit are ultimately harmless, and maybe it's because I don't want to have to give up stuff in order to do it. Either way I have been stuck, and I hate myself for it. I pretend I have a way bigger ego than I really do to come off as charming, which I did before this too, it's kinda just to be funny. But I think that now is when I have really covered up self hatred. I hate how stuck I am, I hate that I don't feel bad about it, and I hate that I can't even face it head on. Hey Jak, I’m here in Australia too, in the year below you, going into year 11. I’m doing most the top subjects ATAR subjects, not sure if it’s the exact same where you are, but I’m doing 6 ATAR here (spec maths, methods, chemistry, physics, economics and literature), and have talked to a lot of my teachers about how to prepare these holidays. They’ve said the most important thing is not studying, that’s for the next two years, and that the priority is being refreshed, and coming in rejuvenated and ready. I’ve got work I’ll be doing (working out and copywriting) but I was just wondering outside of that, how do you actually properly “rest” to be refreshed, without just wasting time (which isn’t refreshing at all)

Aye bro I’m in the exact same position as you but I’m doing the regular subjects, general math, pe, health, business, and English.
The key to resting is doing activities that produce less dopamine or stimulate you less than your work.
So playing a real intense video game probably isn’t the best example of resting, however, something like yoga, walking, reading or meditating are less stimulating meaning your brain can rest and refresh.

Wow this was a deep video! I can relate to this when I was in High School and now that I am in college I am striving to put more into practice of good habits! But it goes to show that it takes work and dedication to have meaningful relationships and that we have to truly view people as our brothers and sisters. After that, it naturally gets easier.

Amazing video man. I would say to work on that autofocus. Try to switch to manual. The last thing you need is to deter people from your helpful content. It's not that much of a turn-off for me but it can be for others. I just want to make sure more people get to experience your content to its fullest :)

I had mostly long distance relationships and its taught me a lot about the mentality and how it works n such, but for me experience is what matters not preferably physical but mental experience so that they are mature n in the same or similar position iam which in turn gives a opportunity to offer growth to each other…
not gonna lie i had a friend that was a girl sinse kinder garden (now im in 7th grade) and i told her we need to break up and that was because i saw that she was not gonna be loyal and she just made me degrade with her. because of her i got into gaming i even spent money in that game she was telling me that theres enough time so i shouldn't start so early (to improve myself)
so i broke up with her and i dont even regret it at all now i learned a lot more things i feel in general a whole lot better
