me and my dad did most of this to my first bmx bike. seemed like a great idea until i wanted pegs and realized i cut my axles too short lol

Once you've tightened the stem/steerer bolts you *can* remove the top-cap/bolt (and the star-nut in theory) which is only there to pre-load the headset, not for retaining the stem.
Also, when shortening a seat post it has to be inserted far enough that it's about an inch below where the top tube/seat stays join the seat tube.
Presta vs Schrader valves: Presta is lighter and requires a smaller hole in the rim but unless you're running super light-weight, narrow rims (e.g on a road bike) the hole size is not a problem these days. When Presta valves came out they were ironically called 'high pressure' valves but Schrader valves are used on MTB shocks/forks running 200PSI or more!?!

You could slice pieces out of the seat post or drill holes through the seat post and also drilling female bolts or stem bolts to hollow them out also going with a stolen thermalite seat post and drilling holes through it and shortening the post aswell as using a hollow or aluminum seat post bolt / pivotal bolt

@@AlfredoMancuso you can also drill holes in the seat if you have one that has the fabric all torn to pretty much make a diy tioga spider seat 😂 but it does work aslong as you know what you're cutting or drilling out kinda like when you gut and chop a car to reduce weight you have to know what sacrifices strength or rigidity what helps reduce weight running plastic spacers and drilling them out like a cheese grater this can go along way if you run alot of spacers
@@AlfredoMancuso the front bolts it would have been better if you drilled them out to make em hollow instead of reducing the thread count by a ton or get a different bolt made of a lighter material

I’ve never weighed my bike. Lightest ever was my 2008 Fit Series 3.5 with 99% Fit parts, Odyssey wheels and MacNeil Pegs that were super light and would slide forever I remember Mike Taylor (BSD) even had a pair as they were the lightest steel pegs at the time. But recently I got my Daily Grind Steel peg stuck on a broken axle, but I’m riding the og Merritt Steel peg up front and I have a Van Homan G-Sport Peg on the rear. I remember the actual first time I had a light bike I got KILLED at FDR overshooting a hip as I never had a bike so light. In 2002 I was riding a MacNeil Ruben frame, 36 hole Hoffman complete high roller wheels , my first flip flop hub so my first 39 tooth sprocket. But I really loved that bike to where I rode it until it was out of date, then in 2005-07 I rode a Federal Division, saved up in 07 for a FBM Deployer cracked it in a year but it was a trail frame I was 99% riding street with then 08 I got the Fit Series 3.5 , after that a T-1 Ruben, my buddies old Fit ED 21” got a BSD WZA in 2011 it gets ran over by a truck in ATX, so I’m on a FBM Anthem edition Steadfast, that breaks a bit down the line, but I got a BSD Forever Frame in 2012, it’s still being rode today by a friend, but then went back to a FBM Stairmaster haa, but in 2013 I finally got a new custom bike thanks to Robbie at Cult and Animal, then my favorite bike a Fiend Morrow V.2 last pair of og $cerbo bars gets stolen, I’m back on my BSD Forever until Matty Aquizap last year sent me his Credence/S&M last prototype of his signature Black Magic frame it’s mad long but again beggars can’t be choosers. But I honestly really want to try a Subrosa.

@AlfredoMancuso I'm looking into buying the 20" cult x Huf devotion bmx bike the Anodized Brown n orange, I seen it in the background of 1 of ur vids, but I can't find anything on it at all..no reviews, no videos speaking on it..looks the part,specs look good, I'm just trying to find an honest opinion on just how good it is or isn't, it's on sale for $450 what do u think about that bike ?

My fit TRL was 26-27lbs stock. If it came shorter than 21" it'd be a bit lighter

Might seem dumb but if you look at the gsport pegs metal core, their pretty short and pegs dont seem to snap! Could cut the metal inner core of the peg about half way or 3 quarters the way

You guys should look into getting a bandsaw
You can also cut the steerer tube and ditch that conical spacer for a low-profile one.
I brake set up weighs about a pound. A long straight cable actually ends uo heavier than a dual cable set up if done properly. But barely.
Aluminium v brake noodles weigh less than housing. Especially linear housing. You can run the bends tighter and run shorteren lengths of housing. Less housing and a few other tweaks and not needing a cable hanger helps makes up for the gyro bits. It's only a few grams lighter though. And housing dependant on the lowers.
Shorter lever bolts. Like cut em in half. Few mm off rhe axle bolts. Use a spacer and some taps to trim the axles just barely long enough for pegs. Trim the seatpost so it just barely passes the top tube junction by like half an inch.
Drill out the bb center spacer. Run one large headset spacers and drill some speed holes.

I got 4 chrome pegs, 2 chromoly hub guards, and 2 plastics with a brake at 27 lbs but I cheated with titanium stem/seat bolts.

@@AlfredoMancuso it will accelerate out from under you when you pedal it...45-15 gear and you can crank uphill on it... carbon fiber bars, frame, fork, neck, and cranks, drilled titanium hardware and a few aluminum parts... it's an amazing piece.
