Man, what an emotional and heavy song! 😢What I heard was despair over a life filled with bad beginnings, some bad choices and emotional pain but that change is possible and necessary. It requires taking that first step to change your path but also having guidance and people that support you along the way. Thank you for sharing your own personal experiences and thoughts with us. You never know whose life you may change by doing such.

May I suggest "Broken Window Serenade" by Whiskey Myers (album version). Its not as deep as this song, but a great story song with a sad plot that many small town people have experienced.
