I don’t know if you picked up on it in this song, but shows Danny’s amazing lyricism. At the end of Cocaine and Abel he says everything is fine and has an album called everything is fine and in this song he has the lyric “goddamn the man that says everything gonna be fine”.
We have all been there, we have all had our struggles. I know I’ve been there but I’m glad you are still here. Amigo has another amazing song called the Dreamer. Definitely worth checking out. You are amazing for being there for others, for strangers. If we all helped our fellow human even just by listening, the world would be a better place.

I'm such a fan of Amigo the Devil, Danny is just a master at his craft. I've seen him live three times and will see him again in about 3 weeks. His live performances are powerful.

This guy is a strait up Bard!! Just like the last song from him we heard,his music hits to the quick. His vocal style makes you think he is gonna be cheerful but he is so real. He reminds me of Oliver Anthony where he can sing about anything and you perk up and listen because you know he is gonna "preach" to you. Great song.

You know a great singer/songwriter when their lyrics are poetry that bring tears. I definitely know first hand the sentiment he's singing about, but even if someone didn't, those lyrics paint the picture.

I don't really react to lyrics in songs when listening to them initially, but you describing this..I understood everything you were talking about and when you said "when someone tells you it's gonna be fine and you just wanna freak out on them" that's when it really hit. thank you for reacting and helping me understand how much this song really means to me now.

Amigo the Devil is one of my favorite artists and will be seeing him live again the end of this month. If you ever get a chance to see him live go do it!!! It is an amazing experience. This song every time I hear it gives me chills. I have been in that same exact place in points in my life and have finally found a healthier and better place. For many years it was a struggle and his music has been there for me thru it all.

Glad you discovered him. Danny is an absolute gem of a human who portrays our darkness so eloquently and bluntly. He's the real deal. If you ever get the chance to see him live, do yourself a favor. You will not be disappointed. He takes time to mingle with the audience and take pictures with them, like an old friend. I aspire to be like him as a person.

@@TheWolffAndTheMelody yeah, I think that's because he's opening for Flogging Molly. I love them, but he's definitely one of the best shows I've ever seen. I will never forget that first night I saw him.
Once you see him live, you'll understand.
I recommend 'Hell and You', 'One Kind of People', and "If I'm Crazy'. The latter being a montage of what you expect from at a show, and a glimpse into who he is.
For your sake, sir,I truly hope you get to go see him.

The line “I can’t stand waking up, and nobody knows it…“ always gives me chills as it makes me feel as “seen“ as any other line I’ve ever heard in music or film. He’s the person who said everything is fine- at the end of Cocaine and Abel which also took you apart. Stronger than Dead is more hopeful if you like. Hungover in Jonestown is dark and funny.
Also, he’s also touring with Bridge City Sinners and Frank Turner. They be at Rams Head in Baltimore in may, it will be an amazing show
You should see him and give him a hug sometime. I know from personal experience, he gives the greatest hugs. I missed an Amigo the Devil show in 2018 because I had attempted self forever sleep. My brother went and got a copy of the album Everything is Fine, signed with his well wishes and the track "Stronger Than Dead" was circled on the back.
I also love the lines "The notes are all scribbled in pencil, without really knowing what I'm trying to write, something about 'Goddamn the man who said 'Everything's gonna be fine' " I think it was kind of a jab at himself, as the album that came out before "Born Against" was titled "Everything is Fine."
