Always look forward to your excellent video presentations Elli. Thank you for sharing once again. Scotland has some spectacular scenery and you do it justice not just with your photography but introducing us to some great hikes (& dodgy weather 🌧️ ☀️) 👍🏻
I recently faced the same travel situation after doing the WHW with my wee pup, long, expensive train journeys as very few alternatives when travelling with animals, however on many routes Citylink has been bought over by West Coast Motors who allow pets🎉 Always check first though as it isn't always clear which routes are affected! Great video, we plan to do this next year 👍
It's great to see Otto on this adventure, and I notice that in your narrative you refer to 'we', whereas when he Isn't there you say 'I'. That's really nice and considerate. He looks like an excellent companion for you.
I did this trail in late March… a mix of warm sunshine one day, blizzards the next! Thoroughly enjoyed it though and great seeing your adventures with Otto!❤
I come from the Czech Republic and it's great to see, how you deal with such a wet weather 🤗👍👍👍. You are amazing. And also thanks for information in km 😊
Whaaaa the allure of distance vs a lovely, early, camp spot ! When you arrive at hotels do you wear some cleaner camp? shoes 😉 Lovely to see, thank you for sharing, Elli & Otto 😊
As always Elli & Otto both putting beautiful Scotland on the Map . Smiling though all kinds of weather Elli total respect young lady . Otto taking the lead as always too . Bet the coffee was good . Your films are getting better and better 👍 take care both 🌷
I thought for sure on day 1 you would camp at the spot I used in April, but you passed it. At the start of the lochan (nearest the logging site) there was wooden viewing seat where you could camp either side of the path. I was sick and ended up spending two nights there before hobbling into Callender to exit back to Stirling.
I saw it, it was the absolute perfect spot overlooking the loch, but it was quite late and there was already 2 tents pitched there. Otherwise I would have pitched there 🥰😅
Hi Elli, nice to meet you and Otto at the campsite at Strathyre. Your detour to Balquidder was definitely the better option than the one i took! all the best.
Thanks for sharing. Walked the RRW by End of April and beginning May this year. So most probably just a bit later as you did. Great to have a Rob Roy Way Video / Playlist more on YT! Gratulation for walking the Rrob Roy Way.
This is another delightful vlog of you and Otto, Elli. I half wondered if you might have stumbled across Scot (Jogle walker you met last year. His channel is Endorphins) as you passed Lochearnhead. Even though I'm 72, I play drums/percussion and have played at Lochearnhead village hall for Hogmanay. And regularly in Callander, the Blues & Jazz Festival is every October. Played Killin three times over the years but not since Covid. Anyway, always a delight seeing you and Woof. 🙂🙂
Hi Elli! Interesting! I've got that route on my list too. It's great to see you doing it. I had mentioned that I saw you on the bus from Inverness heading towards Fort William. I was on my way to the Isle of Skye to hike the trail. You surely won't miss that one! With the SWCP, it's definitely one of my best hiking experiences so far. Looking forward to the next part. Best regards, Timo
About 12 yrs ago this was my first solo hike. It is not the most beautiful hike imo, and a lot of roadwalking, but a good one to do as a first time solo because you are never far from civilisation. Finding a campspot was a bit of a search at times, esp alongside loch tay.
Yep, can totally relate…. It’s not the most scenic compared to other hikes but I actually liked it, especially the longer route through Glen Almond. It definitely has its beautiful spots too 😊
I'm always impressed by your pronunciation of place names. Well done and thanks. RRW is on my bucket list but am a bit put off by the lack of wild camping at the beginning and the amount of road walking. I'll probably start at Milngavie or get the train to Balloch and then the bus to Drymen. You and Otto are certainly eating up the miles👍
Hi just an FYI: I took the bus to Killearn and walked on through Gartness to pick up the WHW to Drymen to start RRW. Nice little walk too. There’s a campsite on the way too if you’re late starting.
@@mondo_rayYeah, I know the Drymen site and also the one slightly off the way a few Kms outside Milngavie. Problem is the first parts of the actual RRW up until Callander.
How do your feet hold up with all that tarmac you've been hiking on Elli ? Otto seems happy and contented during his travels, he's a stalwart. I love your content, you are always so positive and smiling. I think you've earned that hotel break too, enjoy.
Does it make your shoes move quicker if they have a coffee in the morning ??? lol Hello Elli and Otto, More beautiful views from Scotland and of course more rain Shitttt Otto loves his cheese strings. the way he was looking at you I thought any second now he's going to say (OK you have shown it on camera now give me the bloody thing mum) So Cute Stopping at the little hotel was a great treat for you after all them miles and nights sleeping in the tent you really deserve it. and that goes for you too Elli, Hehehe 😋✌
Did you wish you'd had a more freestanding tent on the first night when you struggled to pitch? I've just switched to a Durston and worry I'll come across a situation where I just can't get the pegs in the ground and it won't go up.
I know that it's hard to believe in the video, but actually no! I've slept in it over 150times in the UK and other parts of Europe and I always could make it work. It's definitely doable in most areas. Sometimes you might need to hike on a bit if it's not possible at all, but in all that time I only had to change pitches and look for something else maybe 3-5 times. On all other occasions, it worked. My advice would be to look up the 'little rock, big rock"-method on youtube. I had to use it in some cases when I had really rocky ground but it still went up with this method. I know it can be scary in the beginning, but so far, I've always managed to pitch it :)
Yet another great vid. Luv your positivity and smile. Enjoy so much your adventures with little Otto. stay safe, Rob (Addickted),😄
I love your positivity. ❤
Excited to see you and Otto starting another new trail. Can’t get enough of your adventures!
Aww, thank you so much!
Good to see you two back on the trail together! Nice to get some sun after all the rain. Thanks for taking us along 😊
Thank you so so much for following along :) yes, I was so happy that we finally had a bit of better weather 😅🥰
Another great episode 👏 a big hug for Otto ❤thank you for sharing ❤

Hi Ellie, the Harvey maps are just great aren't they. I took your advice with regards to a navigation app, and am finding it very useful 😀👍
Aww, that's great, happy to hear that 😊
Loving your videos Elli. I've yet to do the latter parts of the Rob Roy Way. Some day. 👍👍
Thank you so much for following along, that means so much. Really happy that you're enjoying the videos :)
Good job with the hike and the video!

Hahahaha, I wish they would do that 🤣☕️ thank you so much for always leaving funny, encouraging and kind comments! That means the world 😊😇
I did the RRW as a series of day walks over the winter using mostly public transport, finishing in April. It is a greatly under-rated hike IMHO.
Thank you so much for sharing :) That last sentence is very true in my opinion too! It's a really beautiful and interesting hike :)
What month did you hike this in? Looks like and incredible trip

Fun fact, Elli: the current Jacobite heir is the Duke of Bavaria.
Really? I didn't know that 😳 Small world! 😊
the rob roy way is rubbish for wild camping - should have done your homework
If you say so 😅 I don't think it is tbh.... I saw a lot of good spots on basically every stretch. Definitely doable 😊
