    for anyone that is having trouble at making your emissions glow on the cubes, just enable screen space reflections in the evee menu. i had the same problem and i know what it feels like when you get stuck on an awesome tutorial

    Really enjoyed this tutorial. I loved the combination of texture shaders and geometry nodes! Also loving the Realtime Materials Addon. I use it in nearly every project I create. Keep up the great work! As always, I can't wait to see what you come up with next.

    Not to disctract from the core idea of geometry nodes, but I was thinking/wondering about geometry nodes and Mandelbulb 3D?

    Wow, talk about being at the right place, at the right time! Very nice job! I am an Uber noob at this, but this is exactly what I need for a business presentation at work. Can you still select individual cubes and manipulate them manually before you export it? Thank you for putting this out there. Appreciate what you do. 👍

    This is super cool! Thanks for sharing! What's the reasoning behind using two planes with geometry nodes? This can all be done on the single plane/set of geometry nodes, then all your controls are in one place. On the "wires" I just added another transform node after the combine geometry node (before the mesh to curve) then I am able to move the "wires" with the geometry nodes. I guess having each set of geo nodes on a separate mesh helps keep things organized.

    If you think your emissions are not bright like in the video at around 9:38 , switch on bloom in the rendering setting and you should be good to go :)

    I'm thinking of maybe combining this with your rotating building tutorial so I make an actual city and make the camera fly by it but also make the buildings "dance" up and down and make their position somewhat more random, like not a square grid but I need to understand a bit more stuff for that

  • @maxym93
    @maxym93 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you, great tutorial! I'm confused though since my "tubes" for some reason remain visible all the time... Would that be because of texture material or geometry nodes set up?

  • @gordonbrinkmann

    How does setting the grid size to 10 m scale by 5? You remove the original 2×2 m plane in Geometry Nodes and use a grid, which is 1×1 m - so it's like scaling by 10. Apart from that, setting absolute values in meters doesn't have to be in any relation to any original plane (or default grid) size, since you are entering the dimensions, you are not doing a scaling by factor.

    My animation is really fast for some reason, is there a way to slow things down? Also the moving blocks slow down as it nears the end of the animation, until the blocks don't move at all in the end, which doesn't make the loop I want.
    EDIT: I managed to slow down the animation by decreasing the W value. But the speed of the moving blocks are still slowing down towards the end, causing it to not loop since it's fast in the beginning, but slows down..

    Hey, enjoyed this tutorial (once I downloaded the latest blender version...doh) and picked up some amazing info, thank you!. Just have one problem, hoping you can answer easily...I am not getting any reflections on the buildings from the glowing lines. At first I thought it was because I was using Eevee (switched to cycles and all was reflected) but then realised you are using Eevee too so perplexed once again. Using M1 macBook Pro running Monterey and latest blender.
