“make ghost“ “move to enemy base” “enemy can't even see them” ”launch nuke” “wasted 5000 mineral because the first nuke killed all other ghosts” “sees random nuke, dont even know who launched it“
You should play another round as Zerg and use the overlord strat where you spawn so many overlords that your opponent can't see the screen, then drop all the units into their base.
LowkoTV turn autocast of build nuke off, easier that way. btw you missed the upgrade to give your BC Shields and the diamondback is broke it just makes a cyclone. love the video cant wait for the Protoss one.
cringy sexist loser. zombiegrub, Gyuri, Hajinsun, smix, livibee and many others know 10 times more about starcraft than your dumm ass will ever understand about anything
Don't battlecruisers drop command centres in the actual lore? It should be like a little city in the sky. Way bigger than that at least. Also, the nuke should cover the entire map.
Yeah Battlecruisers should be way bigger, look to the Heart of the Swarm intro cinematic for reference, at the end a battlecruiser starts falling down through the cloud layer to crash into the planet, and it's fucking MASSIVE. But this mod is pretty great anyways, because if Battlecruisers, Leviathans and Motherships were 100% to scale, they would take up the entire map.
it is, but if the game was a little more realistic (in the SC universe) Protoss units would be HUGE like the spear of adun, carriers and Motherships. They can easily destroy planets in the lore terran units are almost nothing compared to protoss ones (the only victories terran has have is when engaging a small group of them with brutal firepower and way larger numbers). The protoss only lost vs the zerg becuase the endless numbers of them, so terran precence is actually not a factor at all (except the queen of blades Goku wanna be part). In game just Stim/A-move FTW, it can even destroy carriers / battle cruisers somehow.
+Luis Fernando I don't think so. If you go back and rewatch the wraiths blowing the sci v up, compare the wraiths to normal fighter planes today, and then scale up. Then run a comparison to the BC in Brood War opening cin and you get that the BC should be easily as large as if not larger than the sci v.
***** yea the Spear of Adun is fucking bigger then the moon but it not big enough to defeat the Death Star 2.0 even thou they change the name in to StarKiller
12:06 "5 minutes peace?" that tilted me a bit given the fact you harassed your opponent with multiple nukes in succession decimating what little supply he had. It's like breaking someone's legs and then complaining if they break yours in turn.
What I remember, in HotS campain was a loading screen that shows Hyperior and leviathan side to side. And the Hyperior is so tiny next to it. Leviathan could play with battlecruisers as with toy car.
Judging by some cutscenes where cruisers are giabtatic leviathans would be so massive that they could successfully take on the death star Or they aren't actually that big it just looks like that
A nuke's a nuke, regardless of destructive yield. A nuclear weapon is defined as "An explosive device whose destructive potential derives from the release of energy that accompanies the splitting or combining of atomic nuclei." Hence, its size and yield is irrelevant, if it does the above, its a nuke. Of course, weapons that don't do this are dubbed "Conventional Weapons" and use chemical energy instead. Although, WMDs outside of nuclear weapons are not classed as conventional weapons, but that's an aside for this topic. While, as you said, nukes can be meant to take out cities (Or similar high value targets), those are "Strategic Nuclear Weapons" which are used strictly against an enemy's interior, due to their massive yields. In RTSs, nukes are generally "Tactical Nuclear Weapons" (Bar Supreme Commander but, that's another beast entirely), which are nuclear weapons of a suitable size to be deployed on a battlefield where friendly forces are operating. As said by Magni56, tactical nuclear weapons, in comparison to other nuclear weapons of both classes, can range from "Tiny" yields to rather "Substantial" yields; obviously "Tiny" and "Substantial" are strictly for comparison to other nuclear weapons of both classes. Comparing any nuke to any conventional explosive will show that even a "Tiny" nuke is devastating in terms of destructive power. The sheer power of nuclear weapons becomes mindboggling, despite how easy it is to read a number and a descriptor (Tone, kilotonne, megatonne, etc).Well...that was more than expected. Anyhow, the most likely reason for RTSs using tactical weapons (Outside of balance, considering lore reasons only), is likely because friendly forces are operating in the area and need to work around such a weapon. Obviously using a strategic weapon prevents the deployment of friendly forces to the area due to its sheer blast yield.
1 kiloton would still make it 100 times larger than a MOAB, and thus quite a bit larger than the explosion seen in the video. I'd say the explosion there seems to be between the size of a regular mk84B and a BLU-82, thus equal to about 6 metric tons of TNT.
Well canon-wise The Terrans all nerfed their own nukes after destroying Korhal with them. Now they only use tactical nukes which are indeed very small, both in their physical size (There are models about as big a a 1 litre bottle) and in the radius of their explosion (about a quarter of a mile, which is STILL half a mile in diameter though). So enough to take out a few blocks for sure, but not the kind of weapons we think of when we hear 'nukes'. However the nukes here seem to be much larger than that, and given their size should probably cover most if not all of the map. They might be larger though to carry more Rocket Fuel since the SC nukes need to work on a multitude of planets, some with very high levels of Gravity, and the actual warheads could be much smaller than it looks.
"That Medivac is huge!" Well yeah. It's bigger than a Dropship which was more or less able to drop down a whole platoon of troops with a couple tanks or so.
This here is the first video from lowko that I watched. I even watched it on the release day for some reason. And since then I've been watching lowko every day lol
it is so much nicer to play in real scale, it gives you a feeling of a real battlefield and real unities down there, like in cinematics where you have the infantry and battleships warping out over them
This mod has since been updated, and the Battlecruiser is still insane, especially when fully upgraded. Max weapons and armor, plus the special armor and weapon upgrades, and it can also be equipped with an energy shield. Also, upgrading your marines with plasma guns really increases their power.
And this is why gameplay isn't realistic lore-wise! If it was, you'd get this! xD By the way lowko, great video & I'm looking forward to protoss but you missed the merc compound units. Maybe you could make it P vs. T and have your opponent make them and show them to you?
The SCVs seem to be too big, if I recall correctly they are mentioned as being about twelve feet tall, while the marines in armour come to about seven feet. Asides from that, great video and mod.
actually think about it this way,a marine cost 50 minerals that were used to construct the suit and weapon for the marine. A SCV mines 5 quality of minerals each time, which is one patch of mineral SCV hold during the return animation. Therefore about 10 patches of mineral SCV hold can fully consturct one suit and weapon for a marine. If a SCV is only twelve feet tall, there is no way 10 patches of those minerals can consturct a suit of armor and weapon for the marine , let alone using 80 patches of those to construct a battlecruiser. A SCV has to be much bigger than average marine or suited human in order to construct armor in few patches of the mineral they held
@@shizelee8251 Man, it's almost as if the game isn't actually to scale. The books and background material literally state that the SCV is just over twelve feet tall.
i remember the time when i watched the first cinematic from heart of the swarm and saw the battle cruiser crash to the ground. And now... after seeing this, it...just looks right XD
In Starcraft, Terran marines were actually tiny cause of graphical limitations back then (using sprite sheets instead). Also, it's the perspective that makes buildings and large units seem small; which is intentional because it makes the game playable.
I kinda wish that Blizzard would make a game in the SC universe that is what Renegade was for the C&C universe. A First Person Shooter where you could enter pretty much any of the buildings and drive pretty much any and all vehicles.
This makes me realize how lucky we are to have a balanced SC2. Seeing how easily it could have been a disaster like most other RTS games reaaaally makes me appreciate the one we have.
You know, I hate to be that guy, but I'm pretty sure if this were realistic the battle cruiser would be the size of the map and the nuke the size of about 10 maps at the very least. We're only talking like... tactical nuke there though.
CzarPeppers since this is literally hypothetical, in my head, battle cruisers were probably meant to be about the size of those in Star Wars and would literally cover the entire map like you said...a banshee would be somewhere around the size of an x wing and one could imagine the HUGE scale of a battle cruiser
Tactical nukes... Does people not realize they probably wouldn't use massive fucking strategic nukes in these scenarios? Unless they're nuking from space, they'd be using tactical nuclear warheads instead. There are "medium sized" nuclear warheads that are launched by artillery and there's even smaller nukes launched from recoilless rifles, launching the nuke about 2 kilometers.
if I remember correctly, the Minotaur battlecruisers are around 1-1.5 km. the Behemoth are around 2 km, and btw, the spear of Adun is around 74 km long.
Still doesn't make any sense that a marine can damage a battlecruiser. Certain units should be practically invulnerable to certain units' fire. Like a battlecruiser and thor being invulnerable to small weapons.
Yeah marines shouldnt be able to damage cruisers but do you know how big the gauss rifle is? And they also have ap bullets, explosive bullets. So marines damaging thors and other large units make sense.
I must admit, I have no interest whatsoever in serious starcraft 2 gameplay, but these videos of mods you keep making are fantastic, good job man. Captured me for a game I don't even play.
I do wish that you had did a slight review of each unit, showing us their stats/abilities same w/ buildings. Lot of APM when I'd prefer you just had your partner hold off on attacking and we got to see what changed.
Klaus Kleber They can have some kind of a podiums to land with their wings on and then the pilots come out with a ladder or even an elevator or anything.
The spaztic click-happiness of hardcore Starcraft players befuddles me. You don't need to click the destination five times to order your troops to go there.
Etterra every single decent sc players do that. Since in a high level game the speed of the game is so fast, u need to speed up ur apm since start or u won't have the rhythm for later. If u watch professional or high rank players play, they have 150 plus apm at the very start when they only have drone/scv/probe
Kinda goofed. SCVs are big yea but not THAT big. They are only slightly bigger than a marine in power armor. Not 400%|+ bigger. Ghost +Spect should be smaller than the marines. Much smaller. Not just slightly. ( Most of the units are not scaled like it should be but :P ) But that is nitpick theater..
SCVs are pretty big though They are almost as tall as a two-story building. They have to be so they can assemble the Terran building more easily. Ghosts are maybe two feet shorter than a marine at most. I mean we see Tychus in full Powered armour throughout the entire Terran Campaign, and he's not that much bigger than Raynor (who is huge tbf).
This is my first ever video to reach 1 million views. Thank you so much for watching.

AplJack "Nuke it from orbit... it's the only way to be sure"

I guess I can only play private or custom matches with it though.
literally rolling around laughing, i couldnt breathe
“make ghost“

“enemy can't even see them”

It's a moving bunker?!

How to troll your opponent 101: Move a battlecruiser in front of them and they can't see $hit. xD
Lowko went full Gandhi with these nukes against everyone including himself and he didn't notice haha
The medivac is clearly not the correct scale.
indeed, it should be able to fit into a BC´s hangar
Also they should be a bit smaller I think than a normal dropship and by going off of Starcraft ghost, it isn't that large.
i think the medivac is fine, considering it has to be able to pick up tanks. if anything, the battlecruiser is still WAY too small.
1wing1 yep, battlecruiser is literally a floating city
Niko
Yeah I mean in Media Blitz for example you can see a BC towering over the skyline.
Sci vessels should actually be larger than BCs based on canon. The one we see in the Zerg cutscene in SC1 is enormous.
it is, but if the game was a little more realistic (in the SC universe) Protoss units would be HUGE like the spear of adun, carriers and Motherships. yeah they nerfed air units to 1/3 because they filled the whole map in the original mod

If BCs are built on starports shouldn't these buildings be huge as well?
Only mini BC in starport
I do wish that you had did a slight review of each unit, showing us their stats/abilities same w/ buildings. Lot of APM when I'd prefer you just had your partner hold off on attacking and we got to see what changed.
Where is gorgon? We need gorgon!
"Say hello to my little friend!"
is what you should have said as you sent in the battlecruiser
Have you ever wondered how the hell Wraiths land?
Dr.RubberFace Maybe like the TIE Fighters? Attach themselfes somehow to special rails mounted on the ceiling.
Maybe they're not built to be landed.
Klaus Kleber They can have some kind of a podiums to land with their wings on and then the pilots come out with a ladder or even an elevator or anything.
Xariel Beautylove +1
***** "You know.. The best starfighter in the fleet is, yours truly."
lowko's expressions in this videos are priceless xD
Can you play the campaign with this mod?
That Goofy Laugh and reaction at 2:45 was pretty hilarious lol.
+Lam Tran - Any proof of what you're saying? Has anyone made a video where they test it by any chance?
It's like when you're jogging and you have to stop for a red light, you continue to jog on the spot to mantain rythm.
If they played BW beforehand then it's most likely an old habit.
Sharpie473 agreed playing bw it would be out of repetition, pun may or may not be included
Damn... so badass... that nuke... and the whole game looks so much realistic in that scale hehe
This makes me realize how bad the game would be if it wanted to use a realistic scale.
I repectfuly disagree
For an old mod it looks really cool. I would love to see something like this fleshed out lol
Wow this is the coolest mod. That Battlecruiser thou
Does SCV doesn't count in total unit?
PleaseBeHappy SCVs take .25 supply each
Is it only apply on Co-op multiplayer? Because my campaign doesn't have that luxury.... I think...
in real games, scvs take 1, like a marine. Only this specific non-official mod makes the svcs take less supply
The Udder races! That's the diablo franchise yo...
Kinda goofed. SCVs are big yea but not THAT big. They are only slightly bigger than a marine in power armor. Not 400%|+ bigger. Ghost +Spect should be smaller than the marines. Much smaller. Not just slightly.
( Most of the units are not scaled like it should be but :P )
But that is nitpick theater..
SCVs are pretty big though
They are almost as tall as a two-story building.
They have to be so they can assemble the Terran building more easily.
Ghosts are maybe two feet shorter than a marine at most.
I mean we see Tychus in full Powered armour throughout the entire Terran Campaign, and he's not that much bigger than Raynor (who is huge tbf).
They're like twice as tall as a hard suit
