    I used to link png image to bone which is pretty simple. I came across an example file made by another user and found the synfig drawn shape linked and can be moved on several different part. I didn't know what technique this is called, but you have shown it very precisely the steps linking it to the skeleton with all vertexes selected prior the action. Thanks a lot, this would save me hundreds of hours in creating parts for the character's movement.

      The advantage of using vectors shaped with skeleton-bone layer in synfig is that you can take the advantage of bones as well as vector shape morphing in your animation. And if you use them properly, you can make your animation look high quality.
      Enjoy using Synfig. 👍

    I'm starting to use this app for animations and i'm still practicing, but i'm still wondering if this app has the option of using "graphs" for the movements. Those graphs that make the movements not only straight from a keyframe to another one, it also makes it slowet or faster to make them realistic (idk much english XD) I'm still trying to figure it out somehow..... But nice tutorial anyways. You're good explaining this 👍👍👍

    it Works perfectly

    • @ManishBhartiya
      @ManishBhartiya  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It should work. The gist of the video is, create the stickman, then create a skeleton layer, link the limbs and torso to the skeleton using "link to skeleton option" and link the head's centre to the corresponding skeleton using "link to bone" option. That's it.

    Why a horizontal parent bone? Are you using a shortcut key to create child bones? When selecting "link to bone" with Ctrl A, how does Synfig know which spline belongs to which bone? Is the overlay enough for it to figure it out? Sorry, the tutorial leaves a few unanswered questions.

    • @ManishBhartiya
      @ManishBhartiya  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This tutorial assumes viewers have gone through the basics of Synfig tutorials.
      Here I'm not using any shortcut to create the child bones, as in the new Synfig v1.5.1 dev. version, creation of bones and child bones have been massively simplified.
      In the video, i didn't use "link to bone" to link all the limbs to the skeleton, rather i used "link to skeleton". "Link to skeleton" links all the vertices under the bone overlay to its corresponding bone structure.
      I hope all these answers are helpful to you.

      hello, I'm using synfig v1.4.4, which is, I know, a little older than yours, which may be the source of the problem. My spline tool does not work in the same way as yours.When you select the spline tool, you return to the canvas and draw lines; however, when I do the same thing, it creates a line and then follows the other line from the end.I attempted to draw it using another drawing software, GIMP, which made things even WORSE.Then MS Paint does not save but can be copied (I am using Windows 7 Professional), but synfig does not allow it to be pasted.

    • @ManishBhartiya
      @ManishBhartiya  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you're using the spline tool in a wrong way, as there's no difference in spline tool functionality across versions of Synfig Studio. To create a spline, you need to select the spline tool from the tool box, go to canvas and create vertices, then click on "make spline" button present at the bottom of the "tool option panel".

    why is it the quality of the animation in the preview so bad if it's a vector image? when you export, does it export in good or bad quality?

    • @ManishBhartiya
      @ManishBhartiya  ปีที่แล้ว

      When you hit the preview button, the dialog that opens has the settings to change the quality of preview. You can adjust it as per your liking.
      Similarly, when you click the render button, you'll get all the settings to control the quality of your render.

      In Synfig version 1.4.4, to use skeleton tool, you have to go to Layers>New Layer>Others>Skeleton.

    Where to get bone for that and how to draw bone?

    • @ManishBhartiya
      @ManishBhartiya  ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the version of Synfig you're using. In older versions, bones are found in Layers > New Layer > Other > Skeleton.
      In newer/dev version of Synfig, it's in the toolbox and you can select it to create bones.
