Thank you Peter. The scenery is really very beautiful out there, Days Four and Five in particular rank as the very most spectacular

Some of the best natural pointing I've seen on screen in a while. Seems so easy when an 11 hour day of climbing and descending is compressed into 10 minutes.

And yet my analytics suggests some people don't have the attention span to sit through what you correctly point out is already a heavily compressed timeframe. A little bit of 'gee, it's still going' and accepting that is to me kind of the character of that day!

Another excellent episode. Day three was spectacular with the lichen in the rainforest and your choice of music! Felt like the Lord of the Rings. I'm looking forward to episode 3!

That rainforest was very beautiful for sure. Glad you enjoyed this episode, as luck would have it, episode 3 is out now as well!

Fabulous! You made the descent down the Ironbound's look easier than it was I think! I loved Little Deadman's Bay, we spent a rest day there, bathed and did some clothes washing. You do a wonderful job of capturing it all, looking forward to the next episode.

Damn... I really didn't want to make it look too easy as it was quite slow going!
Yeah, Little Deadmans is a great campsite. We saw a largish group that had a zero day there too and I can understand it!

Lol, that exit from the tent at the beginning had me laughing. What was your pack weight ?

    • @thelongwaysbetter

Came to about 15 kg all up, but I was also hauling 4.5 kgs of camera gear which is quite a lot of extra weight to be carrying

If you were to do the walk again what extra items would you take and what would you leave behind. What is you advice to anyone wanting to do this walk?

That’s a very good question and I’m thinking of doing a gear list for this and the hike I’m currently on given the gear list is mostly the same. I’d say the umbrella while very useful for the first two days was a hindrance thereafter, so maybe not so useful for the South Coast Track, but then it has been my best piece of kit on the hike I’m currently on (the Cape to Cape, which has a lot more low heath and beach walking with no shade). I’m happy with my Lifestraw bottles but maybe something lighter as an alternative would be good but otherwise I’m pretty happy with most of my gear choices
