- Tadej Pogačar's Il Lombardia DOMINATION Was A TRAINING RIDE
Tadej Pogačar has finished his last race of the season with an absolute blast, won the Il Lombardia for the fourth straight time, and became the first man in 75 years to achieve this feat. With that, he matched Fausto Coppi’s record, and wrapped up the 2024 season the way he knows best. But despite his obvious domination over the peloton, his body language and reactions after the race suggested that to him, it might not have been more than a training ride. So, here’s how Pogačar destroyed everyone at the 2024 edition of Il Lombardia.

A selfless rider, kudos for pointing that out.
Majka has been stellar throughout the season, and the good news is that he has postponed retirement and extended his contract with UAE until at least the end of 2025.

Pogi's ALL UAE Team Emirates teammates are the MVP of this race.

That would be epic.
I feel like MSR will always be a stretch for him. The Poggio is a little short and there will always be a sprinter coming back in the last 2 kms. He'll need a little luck and masterful strategy from UAE. But I would love to see it!

Only one person would be able to stay with pog on these climbs on this course and that is Vingegaard.
But he isn't a one day rider.
Van art and MVdP although being great one day riders, could stay with him on a 13k 6.4% climb.
So I say if Pogacar is fit and rides this again next year it is nearly a forgone conclusion that he will win again.
His race to lose. He's young and can win 8 to 10 of them total by the end of his career. Vingo knows his ticket to fame is a couple more TDFs. Classics riders can't climb well enough. Unless a new prodigy comes up in the next few years he owns this course.
He'll likely win Il Lombardia in the rainbow jersey for the next three years (WC Kigali 2025; Montreal 2026; Haute-Savoie 2027).
Can someone else win Il Lombardia next year? The 2024 season was so different from 2024. Things change and we may never see a season like Pogi's ever again, but if Pogi has the form and no bad luck, it is hard to bet against him.
