    It’s crazy to think how much they care about the cleanliness in schools but cleaning the desks everyday and mopping the floors with bleach at the end of the day but then neglect the playground where every kid goes everyday. I’m quite set on the playground being where the kids pick up all the illnesses they get 🤒

    • @PartridgeExteriorCleaning

      so true, its just budget issues, they cant really get the caretaker to do it as it needs specialist equipment so they have to pay larger amounts of money to get it done

      @@PartridgeExteriorCleaning Yes, it's crazy the contrast in under-funded schools. The irony is that they *WANT* to do what other schools are doing. They want to provide more for the students, but how can you do everything truly needed when you're buying your own classroom supplies and taking on counselor roles without being one? Schools are often stuck with choices of having to compromise and often after living a certain way for so long, it's more like going through the motions. I'm glad they were able to have you come and do a job that several teachers would struggle with (by not having the time or knowledge on how to clean the various surfaces.)

    As a janitor, I often find myself wishing for a pressure washer at work. Obviously, it would be useless for my normal duties in the restrooms and break rooms, but when the cleaning equipment itself needs cleaned, it REALLY needs cleaned. Chemicals, washcloths, and brushes aren't always enough.

      My primary school never even had to clean the playground because they had covers above it and we're in Australia anyway, so it never got mouldy or anything. Floor was a bunch of bark on top of a bunch of dirt that was somehow always wet (the "bark" was wood chips btw, kind of soft, not splintery, wasn't actually tree bark) so it didn't get covered in dirt and shite. It did get very spidery in all of the little crevices of the equipment though.

    I’ve seen wood structures that were pressure-washed to literally look brand new.
    I also wonder if oxidation (yellowing) of clear plastic (*windows) can be reversed using 10/20/40 volume (hair color developer) hydrogen peroxide and a magic evader.
    Thank you for the work you do on children’s playgrounds.

      @MsDesignDiva 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know right! Deep cleaning like this twice a year, regular maintenance cleaning once a month minimum. Kids are little germ factories, that's just the reality, what with everyone being so terrified of all germs now due to covid, regular cleaning needs to be a thing.

      I understand that you're coming from a place of care, but too much cleaning/not enough eaely exposure to germs/bacteria has been linked to cancer in children. Nature is a subtle balance and too much meddling can be detrimental. A good cleaning is still a great thing though, makes everything looks better and last longer.

    I find pressure washing to be soothing, and effective. I work in healthcare, but i remember, the day i started at the walk in 24/7 clinic, and entered the bathroom. Asked when the last time it had been deep cleaned and the boss had no idea. I offered to come in on a day off and get the bathrooms done.
    Started with dark red brick colored tile, and grey grout.
    Ended with PINK tile and WHITE grout.
    The clinic had been operating for over 15 years, and the boss had bought the place, and he said the tile had been dark red when he bought it.
    and he had paying a cleaning service to come in a clean the bathrooms for years, no one thought to say anything about a deep clean.

    Those kids have awesome playground equipment!
    The weirdest thing we had was something that looked like a birdcage that you could stand in and on the bottom of it was springs.
    At my elementary school we were sometimes not allowed to play on a metal spiral slide or on a plastic tire swing. Sometimes we weren't allowed to play on the spiderweb (that metal dome-like structure that you can climb all over).
