Hey guys, to any of you that are back here after watching The TV Show, how do you feel about it? I Am currently watching it, making reactions/discussions, and will then proceed with making more Fallout content, like a trailer for the show, and..yes, more Fallout New Vegas related content, such as the requested "Character specific" videos.. To do that, please do give some of the new videos a chance, we try to improve with each one, any support would be very welcome, as I am trying to get serious with youtube once more!
It's so awesome to see that you've continually updated this video, its so far different from the original version from 5 years ago and it's genuinely impressive to see it get refined more and more. After so many years, getting to not only see the franchise come to life but bring back the enthusiasm of the lore that was poured into New Vegas just shows how dedicated its fanbase was. Now, when I look back at it, I understand the value of aesthetics and how they can play a functional role in inspiring curiosity about much larger themes: History, Politics, Philosophy, Economics, and pretty much all of the humanities. Even if you can't verbally describe it, those that love this game are drawn to one of these features, and that is a great reflection of how entertaining they are as subjects. Please do continue to make videos, I've enjoyed them a ton and they've inspired a great deal of interest from me to explore deeper.
The fact that none of the forecasters dialogue was ever used in promotional material was a crime against the writer of that sequence. You did it justice

It isn't just about armed conflict, its about ALL War: The obvious external, material and human costs of War, and also the internal, 'private' war that wages at home and within our controlled societies: Wars of mind, spirit, and classes; even the War of peace, which is arguably the most difficult fight of all, especially in the Mojave. "A ranger knows when it's time. Only I didn't. Somewhere along the way, something broke inside me. I couldn't find us a way out of this desert. I wrestled with it, and it took me down a dark road. I wish I could explain it to you."
There’s no such thing as peace. It requires a complete absence of conflict whatsoever. It takes effort, struggle, and opposition to exist in the universe. The very definition of conflict itself. Not just with humans, hell not just with life, but actual physical structure and presence within the universe. Which peace can’t allow. It’s a incomprehensible concept because the effort to invision the absence of conflict is impossible. Because thinking itself is conflict. It takes effort. Things like cooperation and harmony are just bi products of conflict because they require some form of effort in maintaining presence and structure as well. Which isn’t always possible. Because to accept that the universe as conflict is to accept the possibilities of all the bi products of conflict being probable.
Fallout new vegas is like one of those crazy dreams you have where you wake up and thank god it wasnt real. Makes you wonder just how close we are to this becoming a reality.
Just an added reminder of how short the development time of this game was. 18 months to come up with the concept design (it's not just a rehash of Van Buren, it's an entirely different game with a few ideas from Van Buren readapted.), tweak the game engine, create the custom assets, hand craft every square inch of the game, write more lines of dialogue than any game had ever done prior, hire some huge names to do your voice acting, design and compose audio and music, and write dialogue like this. Not to mention bug testing as best they could before shipping it out on an already broken engine. And to get absolutely NO royalties from this hard work because they were 1 point off from the critics rating on release day... Oof. These people KNOW games. Josh Sawyer and Chris Avellone are absolute legends. If you want to get into game design, look up their lectures on youtube. Sawyer has his own personal youtube channel with a handful of tidbits for game designers too.

This was done really well...I love how you actually broke the game down, the dialogue is the most essential aspect of the game, Fallout urges you to make decisive moral choices, and you showed just this. The vital depths of each character gave their perspectives on society, politics, conflict, human nature and morality. That last line "I used to be a young man once, I know what it's like to want to fight for your home, but this isn't it..." was just perfect, it shows the reality of truth.
Thank you, the meaning I put behind the video is: the conflict of humanity itself, how we humans try to push our own reality and moral code onto everything, there is this great book called, "The Denial of death" basically it talks about, how humans in fear of death, believe they live on in other ways (such as memories/the things they create, say or do) that way they never trully dissapear, they grab on to things like religion, nationality,moral codes, etc etc, it's the reason why we are willing to kill and be killed over these things, Fallout portrais that perfectly, no faction is trully good or evil, they all believe in something and live and die protecting their believes, nothing trully lasts. I've been reading that just recently, The problem of human heroics: " They [reference last sentence] earn this feeling by carving out a place in nature, by building an edifice that reflects human value...a cathedral, a family that spans three generations. The hope and belief that the things man creates in society are of lasting worth and meaning, that they outlive or outshine death and decay" pg.5. Your person of fine taste. Looking onto the old dialogue scenes with caesar in the game, the character mentions a philosophical term called "Hegelian Dialectics". I've been reading into it, and I suggest you have a look if you don't already know it, it's pretty fascinating.
All of those trials, just to figure out who you are, and what you'll become. A lap dog for squabbling children. The right hand of a self obsessed visionary. Or the hand that guides a nation.
I wish we could get a legit remaster of this game from obsidian. No matter how many times I play through it it never gets old, but even with mods I'd like to see something for the console.
@@ghost321000 I imagine that if Bethesda truly suffers a permanent down-turn in sales for their shit (Boycotts, pirates, people buying their shit second-hand), they might be desperate enough to allow Obsidian to buy the rights to the specific New Vegas IP should they desire to do so - they'd (Bethy) never sale the primary Fallout IP, unfortunately. Whether they will or not, well - that's a pointless debate; too many things to fall in place first before that's even worth the energy. Those cards falling in that order is the only way we'd get one though; Obsidian has no extended rights to develop anything Fallout related - at all, now that they've been bought, especially. The closest you'll get will be Fallout 4 New Vegas, which, while not official and thus far only planning to remaster the base game, seems more promising than nothing, I suppose.
I was skeptical at first of the song choice but I found myself really into the video within 30 seconds. Felt like I was reliving all those beautiful moments for the first time all over again. All those years that have gone and in the meantime the Fallout IP has disappeared into an empty shell. But we still have New Vegas.
Thank you! The song was a risk for sure, but I felt like I had to go through with it and take the risk.. I think it was worth it in the end. I am glad this video made you feel this way, I intended it to be this way, the video is exactly about the nostalgia, the idea of Fallout and what it was, the phylosophy behind it.. When we are young we want to prove that no matter what we will do anything to help ower family and yours but when we get order we now see that "protecting" or "serving" is just a illusion for the young and the old see it but by the time they tell us THEY tell us that they are the crazy ones and so the circle of blood keeps spinning. To note anyone who is or was serving and branch of the army or what ever know what I'm saying is that the "servis" was just there so you under stand about how they al ways say serve your nation and family and I make no insult to that just to clear that up

I've never liked that Einstein quote since you can't have a World War without sufficient tech to have a war between continents (plus I doubt even a thermonuclear war would lead to a complete technological reset, just like it hasn't in Fallout)... but that nitpicking aside, nice vid (as usual).
I feel like the general idea is that it will almost reduce humanity back to the stone age, awful way of life, no education, and the most important one..the reason I put it, he states that no matter how bad ww3 may be, there will be a ww4, which I find in common with Fallout's world and the great quote from it, - War, war never changes. But I can see what you mean too, good to see there are still a lot of people who think things through for themselves and make their old judgment. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Actually editing the lines was the easiest part but it really helps the overall video. The rhythm was really difficult however due to NV's stiff animations.

Freaking amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just now restarted my play through of Fallout New Vegas to make the ultimate hope for New Vegas. The independent one
I really like the concept that in all the fallout games that you are in fact “Playing a high stakes game”, it’s always the same. It’s men and women, scattered across the wasteland that are so powerful in their own right that they are forced to be the definitive variable that changes the tide of the battle.
Fallout New Vegas instills that existential fear that no matter you do, who you kill and help, everything will eventually crumble long after you've passed. There is no definitive good faction, and even if there was it wouldn't matter. Like it said, basic 'Human Nature' will take over. Greed, corruption...and that's the worst part. You can't change that, and you'll try to. But, you need to realize.. It's not about hate, love or revenge. It's about letting go. You need to let go.
This is so underrated and I hate that. You obviously spent a lot of time on this and the finished product was amazing. I can't stop watching just because of how good it is. You sir and/or madam have talent
DAMN this is amazing, using so much dialogue in this way really captures what makes the game what it is, and the visuals are all amazing. really feels like watching a full production movie trailer, just generally super engaging. incredible
One of my favorite parts of New Vegas was the Second Battle of Hoover Damn. Seeing that old B-29 fly overheard. Hearing those bombs fall. What sounded like the cheers of soldiers as the received air support.
Stellar!! Blew me away, amazing fx throughout the game and the video editing! Perfect song choice and use of narrative throughout a Music Video!!! Did anyone catch a list of mods used??

I really appreciate the inclusion of "Zombies" by The Cranberries. War really doesn't change - and Dolores O'Riordan (may she RIP) is right. I keep coming back to this video because to me this ios fallout right here. This is what it feels like to play the older games and I suppose that's what the newer games lack is that feeling over truly fighting for something. This is an amazing video Zombie has always been one of my favorite songs and now I've found a video of it with my favorite Fallout game. This video captures my childhood memories of fallout perfectly and just brings back the feeling I miss in fallout so thank you for giving me a small piece of that back.
This is like the trailer to a long series. From the early days of new vegas, to battle of Helios one, to first battle of hoover dam, to the couriers story, lonesome road, then finally the second battle of the dam. Love it
I like how you went as far as trying to recreate battles that happened before the game. I could of sworn I saw the battle at Helios One. Anyway what an incredible video, nearly made me shed a tear. New Vegas is such a deep philosophical game, and truly the best written game of the 2010s. Great tribute to a great game!

I'm fucking obsessed with this video, if there's one thing that the frontier mod did was show us those fights from the past. The helios one flashback was amazing. I wish we saw more large scale battles like that in New vegas

When we are young we want to prove that no matter what we will do anything to help ower family and yours but when we get order we now see that "protecting" or "serving" is just a illusion for the young and the old see it but by the time they tell us THEY tell us that they are the crazy ones and so the circle of blood keeps spinning. To note anyone who is or was serving and branch of the army or what ever know what I'm saying is that the "servis" was just there so you under stand about how they al ways say serve your nation and family and I make no insult to that just to clear that up

I've never liked that Einstein quote since you can't have a World War without sufficient tech to have a war between continents (plus I doubt even a thermonuclear war would lead to a complete technological reset, just like it hasn't in Fallout)... but that nitpicking aside, nice vid (as usual).
I feel like the general idea is that it will almost reduce humanity back to the stone age, awful way of life, no education, and the most important one..the reason I put it, he states that no matter how bad ww3 may be, there will be a ww4, which I find in common with Fallout's world and the great quote from it, - War, war never changes. But I can see what you mean too, good to see there are still a lot of people who think things through for themselves and make their old judgment. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Actually editing the lines was the easiest part but it really helps the overall video. The rhythm was really difficult however due to NV's stiff animations.

I really like the concept that in all the fallout games that you are in fact “Playing a high stakes game”, it’s always the same. It’s men and women, scattered across the wasteland that are so powerful in their own right that they are forced to be the definitive variable that changes the tide of the battle.
I kind of agree but also feel like they should at least do one game with a "hero who does not matter", like K from Blade Runner for example.

Fallout New Vegas instills that existential fear that no matter you do, who you kill and help, everything will eventually crumble long after you've passed. There is no definitive good faction, and even if there was it wouldn't matter. Like it said, basic 'Human Nature' will take over. Greed, corruption...and that's the worst part. You can't change that, and you'll try to. But, you need to realize.. It's not about hate, love or revenge. It's about letting go. You need to let go.
This is so underrated and I hate that. You obviously spent a lot of time on this and the finished product was amazing. I can't stop watching just because of how good it is. You sir and/or madam have talent

One of my favorite parts of New Vegas was the Second Battle of Hoover Damn. Seeing that old B-29 fly overheard. Hearing those bombs fall. What sounded like the cheers of soldiers as the received air support.

I really appreciate the inclusion of "Zombies" by The Cranberries. War really doesn't change - and Dolores O'Riordan (may she RIP) is right. It's been the same old fuckin' shit since the early twentieth century - young men getting sent overseas to die terrible deaths while the machine spurts out a flow of money here. Terrible.

This is an underrated glimpse at the glory of New Vegas, and your own talents to present something with emotional impact.
I keep coming back to this video because to me this ios fallout right here. This is what it feels like to play the older games and I suppose that's what the newer games lack is that feeling over truly fighting for something. This is an amazing video Zombie has always been one of my favorite songs and now I've found a video of it with my favorite Fallout game. This video captures my childhood memories of fallout perfectly and just brings back the feeling I miss in fallout so thank you for giving me a small piece of that back.

This is like the trailer to a long series. From the early days of new vegas, to battle of Helios one, to first battle of hoover dam, to the couriers story, lonesome road, then finally the second battle of the dam. Love it
I like how you went as far as trying to recreate battles that happened before the game. I could of sworn I saw the battle at Helios One. Anyway what an incredible video, nearly made me shed a tear. New Vegas is such a deep philosophical game, and truly the best written game of the 2010s. Great tribute to a great game!
