Makes sense too given its post apocalyptic setting, could have sourced those weapons from all over. Plus the gun runners made brand new firearms in New Vegas. Also those ncr shock troops are sic. Definitely could see someone modding some ncr troops to be op in melee and small guns. This is the cannon depiction of the battle for helios one for all I care, it's just so good.

I have used Anti Material Rifles in new Vegas with exp bullets against death claws to great effect. rangers would be absolutely devastating with Exp rounds.
The NCR really was using very good tactics, normally energy weapons or emp and electrified weapons should be used against power armor but they obviously don’t have enough so they made use of rather effective military strategies. The snipers did their job by picking off the support troops that did the reloading and stuff while also targeting vulnerable weak points on the powered armored soldiers which I really liked to see. The missiles on the other hand is how I expected power armor to be taken down, troops distract the power armored soldiers while heavy weapons took them down one by one, there is a reason power armor alone never won America the resource wars because if a bunch of troopers without energy weapons could defeat the brotherhood then a full Chinese army armed with their tech can easily match American power armor, I could easily imagine Chinese dragoons using emp grenades or something to jump power armored soldiers before throwing some plasma or pulse grenades to kill them. (Also, how strong are NCR heavy troopers anyway? Apparently their armor are not powered and the soldiers are carrying the whole suit with their own strength on top of their heavy weapons)
@@alastairward2774 Yes, PA is easily countered, it's not some special armored steel, sure in a post apocalyptic world against pipe pistols it might be effective and impressive when you are the only one wearing it. But, WW2 happened in the Fallout universe so so early AT weapons like Panzerfausts and Bazooka's would eat Power Armor for breakfast.
From a tactical standpoint, i really like the fact that the NCR is portrayed to focus their fire on the Brotherhood Knights. Because the Paladins with the powerarmor might be largely impervious, they can't hold the entire line without screening troops, because then they will get encircled and the powerarmor has vulnerable joints. So the NCR is thinning out the field first so they can deploy their heavy weapons teams with less risk of them being taken out. Does that cost horrendous casualties because they are fighting a essentially partly mechanized force with only infantry with no support from mortars? Yes. But they do have a strategy.
The game we really wanted instead of 76. Im an Enclave reformer in my heart, but boy do I weep for my fellow Americans across the southwest when i see this. If you ever had the inclination, a 1st battle of Hoover Dam would be incredible my guy
@@leafy126.5I'm not saying the lore touches in 76 aren't nice, but they made the game on a bad premise anyways. They'd experimented on a multiplayer experience with the engine since the community had been asking for co-op for years, then they scrapped that idea for 4, and just shoved out 76 in a short turnaround because they felt they needed to get SOMETHING out at the time, and they had the bones for a multiplayer experience as it was. It was barely even a full game for years because of that. I'd have taken a more "big battles" focused game

@@warsmith5849 Nah, Bitter Springs happened the next year, the timeline _does_ match up for Boone to have fought here. (He would've been 21, that's old enough to have enlisted and made it through Selection to be assigned to 1st Recon). Thing is, there's _no_ love lost between the Brotherhood and NCR, Boone wouldn't have guilt killing other soldiers, especially ones who overmatch his side so much. He wouldn't be as traumatized as what happened at Bitter Springs.
I realized something while watching this. Even after the annihilation of society, we still war against each other. When playing FONV, I picked my side and won the game for that side. Now, I realize, it's just part of the endless cycle of war and death. What an amazing game. Modern ones don't have those deeper implications, afaik.

To think of the hell that would have been wrought upon the earth, had they just worked together. The Mojave would be a much different place. You’ve got support by fire/overwatch positions. As well as rocket teams. Plus those badass NCR berserkers are fucking gnarly.
You get this exact battle happened in the lore, right?? the same way with the Bos getting nearly annihilated with only a handful of survivors entirely.
Both these factions faced the likes of the Master and his Super Mutants and the West Coast Enclave, Raiders, and carved out California from the ashes of the nuclear holocaust. Under different circumstances they could have forged an alliance of might and steel. That was always painful to find out, (as someone that played the OG Fallout and 2 )in New Vegas, was that they went to war with another. It goes as they say though, War never changes.
still impressive for me how strong ncr actually is like they are one if not the biggest faction on the wasteland and managed to defeat the Legion,BoS,Enclave and much more
I'd like to imagine, in a time in the near future where the NCR clears all the way to the Mississippi, and the minutemen take all of new England, the south and majority of the eastern sea border: that the two would actually work in tangent with one another, since they have the same goals and it would both prove to strength each other's forces and economies, if and when the minutemen get to the point like the NCR

This video is slowly redirecting my political compass back to democracy…the power of individuals becoming one can overcome any obstacle. This is also real footage of my imagination when I was playing with my toy soldiers
Fantastic animation. Only thing I would change, is that when the NCR charge past the sandbags around halfway through, if there were a stronger distinction in the sandbags or general scenery between the two frontlines, then you would be able to see the changing of the battlefield easier. ATM, both sets of sandbags and defensive lines look similar, so when the NCR boys move up, it looks like they're in the same frontlines.
This is like watching the Charge of the Light Brigade with a Henry Mancini soundtrack. The music hits different in battle Edit: btw, this video is AWESOME!!
Even if this battle is only 50% accurate as it's depicted, the victory was a lot more costly for the NCR than many of its fanboys try to portray. It was a vicious battle.

This is so well done. The integration of fallout NV and 4 assets blend well despite how different the games were.
This is up there with Astartes in terms of direction and composition as far as I'm concerned. It also perfectly nails the atmosphere and "vibe" of the lore. Sodaz is killing it, and GW are fools for sending him a c&d
Much better that they didn't. Otherwise we wouldn't have had this MASTERPIECE!
That was without the Rangers. Basically that's just the NCR grunts, the Rangers with Anti-Material rifles make short work of power armour.
The Sodaz hasn't finish Sunburst yet. The inclusion of Rangers into this animation has been teased.
I have used Anti Material Rifles in new Vegas with exp bullets against death claws to great effect. rangers would be absolutely devastating with Exp rounds.
Well there could be a sequel, in which sentry bots show up and Rangers show up
@@Rakso641 This isn't the full animation, Sodaz hasn't posted the full one yet, just clips, which were used for this video
I imagine a headshot on power armour with an AM rifle would turn the helmet into a fragmentation device
"how strong are the NCR heavy troopers"? Drugs.
In Fallout 4 mention is made of the Chinese countering armoured suits with grenade launchers.
The republic stands!
The NCR having “Bearserkers” is so fitting I’m not sure why they don’t have something like that in the actual game
Wasn’t big brain to do that
Limited by hardware
This just proves how badass the brotherhood and NCR are, it doesn't matter who you like

If you ever had the inclination, a 1st battle of Hoover Dam would be incredible my guy
i personally like the direction bethesda is going lorewise with 76. The mothman cults, cryptids and scorched are great additions.
@@MrMogwaiMan The release was terrible, but if you can play fallout 76 accepting the fact that its not an RPG, its an MMO, then youll have fun.

Now, I realize, it's just part of the endless cycle of war and death. What an amazing game. Modern ones don't have those deeper implications, afaik.
2:03 was that Boone?
Hope so...
More like an ncr commander I think🤔
I think it is.
I believe it is actually supposed to be Boone. I believe the Brotherhood with the unique face paint is also supposed to be Senior Paladin Hardin. They definitely tried to make elder Elijah at the beginning and make him look a bit more presentable compared to his later appearance.
It looks a lot better than the shit that was shown on the TV show.
It can be seen here that these two groups are very well organized and trained, as well as armed and they have tactics
This whole video makes me wonder if McNamara was at the battle of Helios One or if he was just kicking back in Hidden Valley? Absolutely fucking sick animation. Like holy FUCK. I am having a rough day and this uplifted it for sure.
I think he's in the video. In the full clips from Sodaz, one of the BOS Paladins identifies himself as "H.P." when giving orders. If that stands for Head Paladin, then that must be McNamara.
Yeah, the one with the red stripes is MacNamara who you can see at 3:36

To think of the hell that would have been wrought upon the earth, had they just worked together. The Mojave would be a much different place. Lots of awesome research done here! you’ve got details like assistant gunners carrying ammo and directing fire for any soldier with a an MG or mini gun. You’ve got support by fire/overwatch positions. As well as rocket teams. Plus those badass NCR berserkers are fucking gnarly.
Man the Cannon NCR could've been really awesome
You get this exact battle happened in the lore, right?? the same way with the Bos getting nearly annihilated with only a handful of survivors entirely.
What the battle of hoover dam was meant to be like
Both these factions faced the likes of the Master and his Super Mutants and the West Coast Enclave, Raiders, and carved out California from the ashes of the nuclear holocaust. Under different circumstances they could have forged an alliance of might and steel. That was always painful to find out, (as someone that played the OG Fallout and 2 )in New Vegas, was that they went to war with another. It goes as they say though, War never changes.
Sodaz is simply the best. Loved the use of the Mamas and the Papas track.
''Oi! you cant deploy WWI taktics in a post nuklear wasteland!''
The NCR: hold my Sunset Sarsaparilla!
Build Mass with Sass!!!
still impressive for me how strong ncr actually is like they are one if not the biggest faction on the wasteland and managed to defeat the Legion,BoS,Enclave and much more
I'd like to imagine, in a time in the near future where the NCR clears all the way to the Mississippi, and the minutemen take all of new England, the south and majority of the eastern sea border: that the two would actually work in tangent with one another, since they have the same goals and it would both prove to strength each other's forces and economies, if and when the minutemen get to the point like the NCR
Can we take a moment to appriciate the NCR Heavy Troopers at 2:30 who basically inject themselves with Psycho and rush the enemy, taking out robots and being furious despite having no power armor, Idc if they are on chems, that takes guts.

The Brotherhood of Steel may have powerful weapons and armor but the NCR does not have powerful weapons or many powerful armors but it has the PEOPLE!
bravo! great montage about a great artwork of sodaz!
This is hard af, I love it!!!
This is like watching the Charge of the Light Brigade with a Henry Mancini soundtrack. The music hits different in battle
Edit: btw, this video is AWESOME!!
Even if this battle is only 50% accurate as it's depicted, the victory was a lot more costly for the NCR than many of its fanboys try to portray. It was a vicious battle.
