wonder hussy, wonderhussie, wonder hussie, wonder hussey, wonderhussey
Wonder is such a joy. Coming from DESERTLESS Cape Cod Mass. I love the desert stories she tells. Wonder is truly a NATIONAL TREASURE!!!
She surely is 💖🇺🇲👍
I can't stop thinking about the hot springs oasis north of Las Vegas you showed several weeks ago. It was so beautiful and peaceful that it enchanted me. It was the one that had the little endangered fish in it.
Sarah you have a great singing voice . Thanks for showing us around these places 😊
Pioneers walked nearly the whole way across the country. The wagons were for their farming tools and household things and food for the journey.
1:35 Ah yes, Lake Manley. I remember it well. Fred, Barney, Bam Bam, Pebbles and I used to fish for corbina on its tranquil waters while pterosaurs glided overhead and a random T-rex prowled the shore looking for smaller therapods to munch on. Yes, those were the days. That cabin you explored is all that remains of our hunting camp. Seems like only yesterday.
"Our Lady of the Mohave Desert" Just wanted to say I really enjoyed the rustic framing and artistic effort put into that, awesome!
I love your visits to so many interesting locations, from the coast to the desert. I live vicariously through you!
Julia I agree with you wholeheartedly., I live the same way. But I really chose this place to comment because it's close to the top of the list. As I went through the list to add a comment, it is bottomless. I wanted to tell ms. Hussy (I love her name) that you can tell a saltcedar, or tamarack just by putting a few leaves,(needles) in your mouth. They are pleasantly salty. I grew up with them. I feel communion with her followers.
That stone cabin is amazing and to look out those portals and imagine the view they had !
There’s one very similar out in the El Paso mountains, overlooking Last Chance Canyon up a side canyon where people still live !
Hey Sarah, I be watching your videos now for over two years. I enjoy the adventure and informative information you bring to this channel. Thanks see you down the road.
She does a great job and makes it fun, I haven't seen everything she does, but will as I go along, im 75 over the years I've been to lot of places dhe goes but learned from her experiences, I would wish she would take a few more precautions I do worry about her well fare, she says she doesn't believe in God but I pray for her anyway
I was thinking exactly the same thing Wonderhussy; WHO DOES THAT?!
Please, don't ever sell out to the media at large. You're so talented, quirky, funny, knowledgeable, and so fun to watch, and I would hate to think of the common media controlling your non conformist, and free spirited style. It never ceases to amaze me how you gained such a wide knowledge of music which I myself am also a connoisseur of, but am 60, and I think you may have more knowledge than myself. Shite, I actually just turned 61, but that's old age for ya. 🤣👍✌💚
Happy 61st birthday, Tom! 🎂
Yes Tom Happy birthday 🎂 🥳
@@jolenecreech7648 Thank you, just need to make it to 62 now. 😁
@@phyllismcmullen7910 Thank you, and a Happy Birthday to you also, and Jolene when your days come.👍✌
@@TOM-C. Haha 😆. No sweat! You got this!
Excellent documentary, welk done Sarah! Thanks!
Thank you so much sis wonderhussy for sharing this awesome desert Salt Hill it is so beautiful magical thank you so much for sharing this have a great day and be safe sincerely Suszie🌞💜💜💞💞😻
Great video, my friend and I went there and he stayed with the car while I walked down to the water. Did not know there was more to see farther down. Someday I’ll take the whole hike.
I have never gone that far back there. I just stopped at the water. Can't wait to check it all out next time.
2 a.m here in Ohio.. Just your regular insomniac counting down how many hrs of sleep I would get If I fell asleep RIGHT NOW b4 I gotta wake up for work.. and I'll prob keep doing that until I realize it's now down to 2-3 hrs of sleep. So thanks WH you've just made the nightly countdown a lil more entertaining.
Your always entertaining and amazing to watch... Keep it up desert girl !
Thanks Sarah! I live Nevada through you :)
Two thumbs way up on this little excursion.
It's been a long time since I went through the the Mohave desert. But it had recently rained there and the entire desert was covered with flowers. Hard to believe how many animals live there. Especially owls that hunt all the rats. Thanks for the videos.
These kinds of videos are the best, the history and exploring and just seeing you walking is great. 👍❤🇺🇸
agree!
Wow....new Shades.....love em
You singing "Water" brought back memories of my youth. My mom loved that song. But while you were singing, I couldn't help but notice all the freaking dern off-road tire tracks. Seeing those made me both sad and angry. Some people are so stupid. The deserts have sufficient areas for them to off-road with out them tearing up otherwise, pristine areas and playing at being a wild west shoot em up gunslinger on their steeds of rubber and steel while shooting up everything in sight. That totally makes me so mad. They could care less about the damage they create. It ruins the beauty of being in the desert. Those people will never learn and when it's all gone, they will be first to complain.
I love what you do and what you can by showing people the simple, harsh beauty of the desert. Your videos are outstanding and make me home sick to be in the desert again. Thank you for all you do!
It's a small minority of the off roaders.
Every group - no matter what group it is, will have a few aholes.
Sarah what amazing place Salt Creek Hills plus your knowledge of the Hills I ❤️ ❤️❤️ I also enjoy your adventures with your beautiful smile and up beat on how you present the video👍👍❤️❤️❤️
Sarah one of your best videos really enjoyed every second of it . Keep them coming lady your a pleasure to watch thanks 😊
Another excellent adventure, love the history of the old rock houses. P.S. Where is your water?
Be safe little sister.
Really enjoyed your videos thanks for taking us through the history of the mofiho desert
I remember that song, but you left out the best part - “He’s a Devil not a Man, and he spreads
the burning sand for Water”. Kudos for the lilting refrain though - “Water….water….”. I vaguely
recall its use in an advertising campaign for something, some montage or barrage of mirage.
Just came across ur channel. I love you. You are so much fun. My brother loved Nevada and I never understood why. Watching u I kinda get it now. He live in Fernley. And my family used to live in Bodie along time ago. Thank u for the fun
Thank you WH .Very professionally presented . Informative , interesting , and entertaining !!!!
Thanks for sharing.. Warmed me up just knowing to were someplace warmer than here.
So Lovely to watch you walk us back though the history of this harsh and rugged buity, and give a rebirth to those past brave addventiutists, your video
Is like watering the desert
it blooms once again.
Great stuff. Love you and your video edutainment.
Wonderhussy, I know it's been challenging for you to bring us content in the midst of all the turmoil and life changes you are dealing lately, and throw in ONE pandemic and you have the unenviable task of getting real creative with your immediate surroundings in the "valley of death" and let me just say... you fucking own the ability to keep your followers engaged! I for one am so appreciative of the effort you are making to keep things interesting. I am not a youtuber and I have no editing experience but I know from watching many of you guys that editing is one huge time consuming PITA! please know that at least one of your followers would tune in to your channel if all you did was sit down for dinner and talk about your day. Yes you are that much fun! please accept my gratitude for making a lonely old retired navy man a little less lonely and bored. 😘
Absolutely !!! Thanks Hussy!
Hey WH - we have a few oasis here in the Anza Borrego desert - Palm Canyon is particularly lush with lots of palms and pools, but there are others.
Oh it's lovely 😍
Beautiful...
I love your videos
Very COOL Thank you Wonder Hussy💕💕💕💕💕
Loved your video presentation!!
Thank you for the tour.
Sarah thanks for the adventurous camera work and your research about the Salt Creek Hills. Keep the tours a posting.
Hi "Our Lady Of The Mojave Desert" (smiles & hug) In my opinion ("which don't amount 2 much") I thought this was one of the best videos ever. Un...huh. That green mirage winding through that desert was what "Stories Of The West" were made of. And, U Pretty Woman captured it ALL in voice & video. (wink)
"THANK YOU SARAH JANE" for enlightening me on Tamarisk trees & LIFE. (hug)
GOD BLESSES ALL.
Wonderhussy, you are full of wonder. Intellectual, with a huge dose of curiosity! It's so much fun tagging along with you on your adventures. Thank you so much for everything you do!
Surprised nobody else was there. Your pretty Brave to go it alone.
I think most of the positive comments about your videos express my same sentiments you sure know how to keep your audience intrigued and entertained. Nothing boring about you.
I was just out there a week ago and drove past this area without stopping. I’ll definitely do the hike next time.
I love to follow your adventure in the Mojave! ThomyT
Here in Oklahoma they also have a Cedar tree eradication program for the same reason……. they suck up tons of water.
You are amazing at making videos! All the history rocks. It is part of why we love you.
The salt creek hills certainly had some history behind it. Nice walking tour and content SJ!☝️👆👍🙂😎
I love you're pumping these out and I hope you get a wonder...ful check for Christmas. We will view as much as possible. Happy Thanksgiving, you are on our thankful list 🥰✌
Shes got a lot of work to do on that death valley compound - time to get to work.
@@csmith2535 😊😊👍
Your a gem Wonderhussy!!
great video wh.. best wishes and good look..
This was a great history video Salt Lake Valley it was a little salty am a old Salt pun 😜
Wonderful and beautiful presentation! I found it very calming. Thank you
I'd love to sit down with you and watch every western movie ever made
Great video! I remember when I lived at Edwards AFB for 3 years, loved the mohave desert.
OK Wonderhussy sang a song from the 'Sons of the Pioneers'. As if she wasn't super cool enough already.
Yeah,she's great ain't she!
Has she been to pioneer town?
I still have the original release on vinyl !
@@jeffpalmer5502 one of those round things? With the little tiny grooves?
I knew the family of " The Sons Of The Pioneers in Majestic in Orange County ca. They built a log cabin & we came upon it hicking in the 70s frying on Good L.S.D. we met some of the family. Hidden waaay back in the hills .Trabuco Canyon would be a starting place...or Cooks Corner .
Good stuff...keep it going !
The mine great it to keep the stuff in the mine and of cores keep us from falling in. You are crazy girl.
Love exploring places like this so it's nice to do it vicariously thru your vids until I can get back out there myself
I am surprised that you didn’t mention how the burros have left evidence of their use of the water hole. I walked that same trail a week before you and saw the same bullet riddled sign - so cool to see what I saw then, now on your video.
You were sooo close to a geocache at the ‘cabin’.
Entertaining vid. I dig when you sing!, it brightens my day.
What a cool place!
Wonderhussy, you are the Florence Henderson of the Mojave Desert . . . Lol 😂
Imagine looking out the big windows and seeing blue sky. I know right? But i hate chemtrails. No one knows why they do it. Watch your videos all the time Sarah you're the best!
the "North American Cholo" is known to leave his chicken scratch marks on everything it touches
Dogs have to piss on everything to mark their territory.
Very cool. Back in the pioneer days if you missed a water hole you were pretty much done.
You def glowing with happiness! You make Death Valley a better place!
Great vid! Bobcats are uber shy in fact.... you rarely see them even if you live in a place that is loaded with them. But pumas (mountain lion) can be dangerous. Thanks for highlighting the destruction of our wetlands.
Thank you!
They had to have the Salt Cedars for firewood.
Cool Water song is also on Marty Robbins Gunfighter/Trail Songs album. Source of Big Iron, heard in Fallout game.
Love the new glasses Sarah Jane.
So cool, Wonderhussy! I think there’s a Silurian dry lake bed nearby. (And I think I passed the sign for this location on my way there!) I had NO IDEA I was so close to this cool spot! Thanks for adding another place to my list of places to see. :-)
Gotta love those late night drops. my fave channel
You live near by I guess. But ...there's a cabin here in the Mohave desert near me in Golden Valley & has a spring with GOOD WATER not nasty water. Built in 1899 tucked in the hills here near OATMAN arizona.
I remembered that the Mormons traveled through here from Utah and started a settlement in the valley that is now San Bernardino so I did some research. They bought an existing 35,000 acre ranch in the early 1850's. There also was a mission in the area from the 1820's, so if that is the oldest building in San berdo county it had to be built over 200 years ago. About 30 years ago I was hanging out by the store in Tecopa when some unlucky guy who was parked across the street at the triangle came out of the store to find a huge branch broke off a salt cedar tree and totaled his car...
Right there at that parking area I found a green crystal covered rock that weighs as much as a bowling ball and is about as big. Coolest rock I found. But it appeared someone had unearthed it and brought it to the spot where I had found it. Very cool spot
Oh where oh where is kitty today, so SarahJane, hows kitty doing , please update us!
🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥The SWAMP COOLER took the kitty video down, it’s erased🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥
I love your glasses. On the walk up there it was like watching a movie in a movie through them.
Need update on sweet kitty ! I hope ur not abusing it anymore !
Thank you for yet another awesome video ❤️
I have been following some of your video when time permits. Its been awhile since I have been there and before I have a video camera but I would like you to see "Scotty's Castle". When we were their, it had just been taken over by the Nation Park Service for a couple of years. Interest story behind it and be sure to see the rifle hole by the back door. In the early years, it was hydro powered. You might call it the Hurst Castle of Death Valley. It had been closed for a while due to a FLOOD. Are they kidding me. A flood in Death Valley.
Flash floods are not uncommon in the desert, that "castle" is near a wash
Another great video, don't know how you do it all by yourself.
Amazing place and commentary !thank you stay safe
Big horn sheep , badgers , and bobcats , OH My ♥
...what about the venomous ducks , any venomous ducks there ? 😀
Very interesting, nice views
There is a huge aquafore under Death Valley, with rare fish. Only a handful of select divers go there regularly to check up and research the Aquafore. It is literally locked with a gate on the ground. Check it out?
Do a look see along the Borax Trail up through through the Avowat Mountains. Interesting piece of our Mojave history.
Hey WH. Check out the Amargosa Vole project in Shoshone. The voles live in these wetlands so as you could imagine they’re hecka endangered. Cute little guys tho.
Wow Sarah! That was an amazingly interesting educational and fun to watch experience to share; as usual!
I love what you do . From Wyo
Thanks wonder woman.
Your rendition of 'Water' was amazing. I haven't heard that song in years.
Your the best WH. Keep on adventuring 👍.
I love it when you sing !
Great explore...and right in your "back yard"(8-). Nice bit of history too. And folks in the comments explained about those salt cedar trees. But like some other species, those who
brought them over here from elsewhere didn't know at the time what a mess they'd become. Anyway, thanks for a great video, Wonderhussy..and thanks to the other viewers for
the added data.
Yes to add insult to injury on the Colorado River they "had some bugs accidentally released " that would only eat tamerisik and stop at a certain latitude. Sure they will! They killed the trees ok but it takes a while for the Cottonwood trees to come back and all the creatures that live alongside the river left or died. You can check this out.
Thank You for the education of the area , Your editing of your video is very good , also you are a Beautiful Woman . Thank You
What a location
