For everyone asking about the singers. I contacted Copilot, the studio behind the songs. The composer answered me: "I’m sorry, the singer asked to be uncredited on these songs. But thank you for reaching out, I’m glad you’re listening."
That's unfortunate. They did a great job though. The singer duo are an amazing part of Dishonored 2 (and Death of the Outsider). I always stop progressing through missions just to listen to them for a bit.
I was hoping they were credited, coulda sworn i know that bellowing low voice somewhere. the duo reminds me of a song guns and Ammunition by July Talk.

Priscilla's song is actually a cutscene, so this is probly the only time where you deliberately stopped during a gameplay session :)
The Dust District is hands down the best level in the game, no question. The atmosphere, the design of Paolo's bar, this song, Corvos house. It's amazing.
Corvo's house is on the overseer's side. It is in an alleyway above a plaque which says something like "Corvo Attano was born here". The only entrance to his house is by a window that is covered in wood boards.
I actualy unlocked the lock without a guide or stuff I just sat there for 2h thinking so now Im replaying as Emily to finally se it

Nah dude, Stilton manor and the clockwork mansion are the best, they are both a testament to level design. Hats off!!!

Ironic how in the game the duke was the main villain but both corvo and emily were both terrible in their jobs, after what corvo went through you would think he would push emily to be a better rules instead of sitting around and accepting silver from the duke
After playing the game for a while you see how goddamn incompetent Emily is at ruling. She's actually not a complete protagonist by any means which is probably why the coup was able to gain as much traction as it did.

So, if you save Stilton then doesn't that mean this song never gets made? Meaning, only Emily (and the Outsider) would have possibly heard this and has a memory of it?
I like to imagine a song with alternate lyrics was made. That way, the melody and composition of the song doesn't die.
I haven't saved Stilton by now, just wanted to loot as much as possible first without getting noticed. When I got to the bar, they already played the song^^ I try to keep everyone alive for low chaos
@@Zeusborn2022 I think I saved him even in a High Chaos run. Hell, I actually didn't kill any NPCs in the past. Even my psychotic Corvo knew enough that messing with time isn't a great idea.
@@Techhunter_Talon actually there's a bit of foreshadowing earlier in the game that mentioned a "cloaked figure" at the mansion and noone knows what happened so it's entirely logical for people to be killed as it's surrounded in rumors and myths

Whole game, I was expecting a level where we actually go in the mines. When we didn't I was sad. I blame this song. lol
its heavily hinted that billie lurk dlc will be in the future, with her searching for a certain assassin from dunwall, i hope we see the mines there because i expected to explore it too, however the dust district is one of my favorite zones in any game in a while

In my "For the Abbey" playthrough (aka. kill all that doesn’t follows the stricture), I went on a masacre in the Paolo's bar. I decided that instead of killing them and throwing them on a big pile like rest of the gang, I knocked them both out and sat their uncondious bodies on a near sofa. The sole survivors.

I was waiting for the guy to move to an isolated spot, didnt realise the song till then. Finally he began to move to upper floor, and i caught the song. I replayed this mission for days just to get back to this song. Borderline humourous and melancholy, though somehow catchy.
Sad thing about this song is that if you change the future to save Stillman and fix Batista it never existed.

+vidkidjoe Sorry to disappoint you bud, but it wasn't. What we saw was a trailer/sneak peek of what was very clearly high chaos. A high chaos person would kill Stillton. So for the moment its possible that they made two models Billy Lurk, one for the old timeline and one for the new one. It wouldn't be hard at all since we cannot see her face in-game.
I can put all of your arguments to rest. In Death of the Outsider, it's confirmed that there are multiple timelines. The "main" timeline has always been low chaos, Corvo was frozen in stone at the beginning of D2, Emily tranqed Stilton, saving him from his madness. Another timeline is high chaos, leading to this song.
Say what you will about the Howlers, but they sure know how to have a good time.
Didn't feel good scaring the singers just to get at Paolo.... but the game has achievements for siding with either of two factions in that mission.

Is it me or does this sound off? The music is louder than the lyrics and the instruments seem to be...either desynced or for a different song. I can barely hear the lyrics.
No the instruments are a bit louder then they appear in game especially when people are normally talking trough it since the game lowers it automatically to favor (any kind) of speech. They are in sync btw. And sometimes the instruments don't even trigger (in game) i noticed (it can be very directional too).
Any way to increase the sound of the lyrics? :/
It's a good song, but the instruments overpower the lyrics.
That is the beauty in it. This songs are to depict a duo of amateur street musicians, who lives and play in very precarious situation. So the music is not supposed to have a perfect timing, level and tuning, also it´s a exotic world from our point of view. I think they made a incredible job composing this beautiful songs but representing the exotic atmosphere and their limited conditions. Also the lyrics are incredible in the history context of the game and demonstrate a great knowledge by this simple and humble artists.
It's just incredibly beautiful, especially in game. There are a man and a woman dancing a slow dance hugging each other tightly and it creates such a huge contrast to how dark and unfair the world is in the game. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it but it feel like such a sweet moment of two lovers sharing a moment with each other in the midst of a war with the overseers and the coup of Dunwall.
There are a lot of cool and amazing moments in the game but the tenderness of this one and the song just really stuck out to me as something really special.

Recently in an interview we found that it was made by the band of the Director Raphael Colantonio but isn't credited anywhere
They should have used different tracks depending on your chaos level. Imagine the chills if this song played when high chaos Emily takes down Byrne or the Duke.

Stop time eliminated all other listeners?
You either have to be standing next to them or zoom in on them with your lense to hear the instruments. Faulty in-game sound. You can be on the ledge right above them and only hear their voices, but if you move down to the street level or cross over to the opposite awning and get near them, you'll hear the music as well as the voices.
Just be careful not to let Paolo see you.
