    I picked my Diablo 125 up yesterday and absolutely love it. I’m 49 years old and hold a full motorcycle license. I just haven’t owned a motorcycle in about 17 years. I got the Diablo just until my confidence is back up and it was a great decision.

    At the motorbike show today (Sunday), I was speaking to a guy at lexmoto, and I mentioned I’d seen spicy reviewing them (nothing bad said against spicy at all)
    and then he said yeah we actually have the scooter here that he borrowed, and i don’t know why but I found it cool, and sitting on it I was like wow, I’m sitting on a bike Spicy110 tested and took off-road, tiny bit star struck but none the less, it was awesome.

    I had a Titan previously and got involved in a hit and run unfortunately destroying my bike (all been resolved now) now I’ve ended up with a Diablo and it’s brilliant very reliable, surprisingly fast for a ped and sounds quite nice, very impressed with my Diablo, looked brilliant in the red too!

    I am a huge scooter fan. SYM Crox 125. Just love the CVT gearbox and the fun factor a scooter has. Have had all types of geared bikes and will choose a scooter for my commute every day. Light and nimble, cheap on fuel and maintenance and easy to park anywhere. Couldn’t ask for more.

    I was really disappointed with you Spicy110. I was really hoping for the intro to be done with this bike just for the lols.
    I personally think the bike looks great.
    The low power would bother me now I'm on a big bike but for a first bike, you could easily get by for a few years.
    I had a lexmoto for 5 years and it only had issues towards the end because I didn't maintain it. First serviced year 4 and then a few more times in year 5.
    I sold it to someone in town and see it scooting about still all the time.

    Nice one Mr Spicy, can't see why people insist on bitching about Chinese bikes, they are what they are, cheap little bikes. As you say, any bike can get problems from time to time, I had a Honda CX500 years ago which blew the ceramic water pump bearing every 6 months and was £200+ to fix every time. Apart from that it was reliable, but the same can be said for Japanese and Chinese bikes as well. Sure the metal might not be the same quality, I see plenty of rusty 1 year old Chinese bikes around Devon, but hey, ..... they're still in daily use! Almost at 60,000, not long now buddy!

      @ Derp which Ducati do you have, or rather which Ducati did you own that was unreliable?
      i think you have NEVER owned or even ridden a Ducati, so what in fact you are doing is regurgitating something some bloke once told you about some thing neither of you know anything about.
      The true nature of Ducati's and Ducati owners is that the bikes are the most beautiful to look at, amongst the fastest and best handling and the sweetest sounding of any manufacturer.
      The owners of Ducati's love them for their styling and finesse. For their power handling and sheer rideability.
      I've owned my 916 for 12 years, and it has never had any problems. It is ridden daily and apart from a regular routine service costs no more than the fuel I put in it.
      Now, which model of Ducati did you have that was unreliable?

    don't mean any disrespect.......you always talk about lexmoto being so good and it's not worth putting extra cash too for the Japanese options. I had a lexmoto adrenaline from new and spent more time pushing it than riding, I got the yzfr 125 which is double the price but is so much better to ride, more reliable and a lot faster. every one I know that's had a lexmoto had nothing but problems with them including this scooter. just don't get how you say all the lexmoto bikes you test are really good yet this isn't the case. I don't mean to come across like a dick that's don't my intention

    • @spicy110

      +mick forte I found my chinise bike to be reliable over the 7 years I owned one, when I review lexmoto bikes I have had it for 1-3 months before I make a review. I'm just giving my opinion on how I have found them. Some bikes get issue and the same can be said for the larger brands just less often. But at over twice the price they should! But for me 4k plus on a 125cc bike is ridiculous!!

    • @mrcaboosevg6089
      @mrcaboosevg6089 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My adrenaline was very bad build quality, un do a nut and it will de thread, well mine did. I bought a brand new lexmoto adrenaline 2017 plate last year, it wasn't good . Yes it looks great that's about it i'm afraid in my opinion, sold it after just 4 months, it kept cutting out, not even the mechanic could work out why, the idle was fine, new engine etc , electrics all good, still this big problem.It's a bit of a false economy. Go for one of the big 4 second hand or brand new if you are rich

    you should test ride a honda pcx not many decent reviews but they are amazing imo.. I've had a geared 125 before and just bought the pcx last week and its soo much more comfy and quicker around town whereas i found the amount of changing gear up and down on a geared 125 is ridiculous and inefficient..pcx= just pull throttle and i leave 600s behind from lights up to 30mph. s

As much as I hated cagers. I had to get myself a car just because it was more practicle for me. but you better believe when I hear a bike I move over miles and give a nod still haha

    • @UnknownProdrive
      @UnknownProdrive 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Drizzle I cannot imagine what you've been through. But the fact that you are still strong and staying positive shows great strength of character. Amazing courage you show. Your experience shows again how vulnerable we are as bikers. It could happen to anyone and does. We often pay with our lives due to others. I hope your getting better with time and that one day you maybe on two wheels again. If you weren't at fault I imagine that some money is due your way. Although money is no real recompense for your injuries.
      I hope the person who hit you has learned a very hard lesson.
      I hope your recovery continues to go well.
      All the best sir.

    Considering Chinese bikes get a bad rep (although they are massively improving) Lexmoto are arguably one of the better manufacturers. Their bikes tend to be good quality to be fair. I had a Lexmoto Street and it was brilliant, only issue I ever had really was valve adjustment anything else was general wear and tear. Sprockets, chain, oil filters etc etc
    Scooters though, i am very ignorant with, i absolutely hate them. I just cannot take them seriously.

    I'm looking into getting my first bike soon. Went to a dealer and they suggested the KTM RC125, it's £3000 but it's something I need for work. Apparently it tops out at around 70 on flats which is the max speed in the UK anyway. So definitely looking into it as an option, they also suggested a Yamaha, but there's no real difference apparently and KTM tend to have better after sales support.
    Any thoughts Spicy? I will need to reach speeds of 50mph or so as part of my journey would take me via a motorway bypass (or I can add 15 minutes and skip that bypass sticking to local roads).

    • @ketchup4618
      @ketchup4618 ปีที่แล้ว

      I own a Diablo and it is perfect for what you need - tops out around 60 mph for me (65 down a hill). Only problem is the motorway as I believe (don’t quote me) that you can’t ride 125cc on a motorway. Again, I believe that is true but I could be completely wrong.

    Just remember: If you've got a full car license, it already entitles you to ride 50cc scooters. So there is the option of ultra cheap £500 scooters from places like learnerlegal.com. For city riding they're perfect even though they're rev limit restricted to ~30mph, that's the speed limit on most roads anyway, and if you really wanted to get faster acceleration and top speed, they're just a CDI wire snip away from around 45mph top speed.
    For someone who doesn't want to spend a lot on bikes while they get to DSA age or who're unsure of getting into biking, if they have a car license a scooter is a very cheap and easy way to get into it.

    • @stephenpeplow5618
      @stephenpeplow5618 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      30 mph is max speed on urban areas, town roads not most of the A roads do 40- 50 mph on these roads you need have your 50cc scoot derestricted to keep up with the flow of traffic other wise you get overtaken more often, another option get 125 scoot get you to 60 mph max but Diablo only does 55 which slower than most 125 scoots can do.

    Bikes too slow to be called a 125cc my Aerox 100cc went 60MPH no problem this struggles to get to 55MPH how can I make it Faster will a Sports Exhaust be worth it?

    • @spicy110
      @spicy110  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bore size is 124cc so yes its a 125 but regardless is the Aerox not 2T? The reason this has less power is the euro emissions laws that get tighter every year, the same laws that make 2T no longer legal to sell.
      Exhaust won't do much if anything, if speed is that important to you I would get a motorcycle with a gearbox.

    Don't buy this bike! limited parts only sold by Lexeter Ltd / Chinese motorcycle parts online and some have run out (service kits and clutch parts) Only one exhaust which is standard and even though its a Longjia LJ125T model, Longjia parts do not fit due to re-brand modifications to the variator/clutch and input/gear shafts.

  • @SlotCar2021
    @SlotCar2021 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    cheaper to get a year old Honda or Yamaha that will be cheaper and faster. Lexmoto should of matched the power closer to the competition. For £2000 it just doesn't stack up as being good value. Euro 4 seems that it will hike prices up of cheap scooters to the point where it is pointless. The depreciation factor too, if Chinese bikes can rival power and similar specs for less then there is a market but when the cost comes close to a nearly new / second hand price it starts to be less appealing.

    • @spicy110
      @spicy110  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +t1234aylor it mostly likely is but I compare new for new. I let people make their own minds up Re going new or old.

    • @SlotCar2021
      @SlotCar2021 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      spicy110 It will be interesting to see the Diablo second hand prices, it does look good but it is dog slow, 50mph is a joke flat out. You should test out popular 125 scooters to give a more balanced review of scooters in general. I don't know who pays £4000 for a scooter but they need their head checking, you could get a very nice bike for that.
      I would say if commuting, scooters trump bikes. I have commuted on bikes and scooters and scooters come out on top.
      No chain maintenance, good weather protection, storage, fuel consumption, no gear changes, acceleration.

    This is one of the worse review I've seen. I know you're in love with Chinese bikes but how can you compare this scooter to the ones you listed? They aren't even the same type of scooters. Different price range, size, style, features...
    Ever heard of Vespa, Piaggio, SYM, Kymco? They all sell similar (price, engine size, style) scooters that are in direct competion to this Diablo. Why didn't you compare it to those scootets? Did Lexmoto paid you to do this review?

    • @spicy110

    Chinese machines need looking after meticulously, their not machines you ride and forget about when you park it.
    Personally I don’t have a prob with Chinese bikes, you get what you pay for, they are simple machines to service and the parts are very reasonable.
    If I paid 3-4 grand on a 125 I’d expect 100% quality, but for £1700-£2000 I’m happy to accept the odd niggle or two.
