>makes a video "create a city street in ue4" >20 minutes makes the road only >at 20:38 showcases the already fully made street with all props in place HELL YEAH , that's just like in university when you skip a second from the lecture and the blackboard is all filled
Yeah people mostly put likes without even watching it fully just to find it later in the "liked" playlist. This is me, so I guess most of people are the same. Now I watched it till the end and put a dislike because it is misleading and they double lied. Promised to release a tool - didn't. The title promosied to create a city street - created a road.
Where's the city tutorial? This guy built 10 meters of road for 20 minutes in the worst way possible (not in BP, not using static mesh instances). Then loads a completely different thing at the end (probably not done by him at all) and everyone is losing their shit...
Whoa, you opened my eyes with how to tackle streets! I was trying to do everything with 1 texture, in substance painter. This decal technique is sweet looking!! thanks!
It's probably worth mentioning that when you say, 'Hey we built out this epic cyberpunk scene and will cover it in another video' now obligates you to actually cover the entire production of that scene. :P As a user of Megascans, I'd personally love to see it.
I subbed this channel when it had only 2k subs. Quixel is getting bigger and bigger day by day but you guys dont have right amount of subs you need. Hope you guys get bigger so.
@Quixel - Wiktor Öhman - 0:59 - where is this one blueprint actor road building script on UE Marketplace? How to find it and how to buy it? Please drop the link!
Great video. What's the status of that UE4 road blueprint? Also, what version of the engine are you using? When pasting the codes, I have unspecified collection parameters errors.
Thanks a lot for the video. Any chance you could explain how to add the decal material in the material editor? I tried pasting the whole script in the material editor but couldn't figure out how to get it to work.
@Quixel - Wiktor Öhman - 0:35 - Its 2020 - already future - Where is these ones more "complex urban scenes"? where we can look at them and enjoy the complex urban scene art? can you please drop a link where is these complex urban scenes video?
Hi Quixel guys, Amazing tutorial as always, I have a little suggestion about material. Many people don't have advanced knowledge about material I think that you can add material screenshot it will help so much.
I know this materials are simple, but in my case I have some doubts in Decal Material on Opacity_blend_mask what texture I put there? What is the material setup? Dbuffer Translucent color, normal? That kind of question. I know that explain about material is not the focus of the tutorial I'm just trying to improve understanding of the video.
Did that road building script ever come out yet? Also I'm having issues using your provided asphalt material - it seems to be all there but there aren't any comments so I can't really match up the texture nodes to the textures I downloaded from megascans. Help?
Great video thank you, where can I find the BP for the generation of the road? I am currently building a cyberpunk city for my project, this would make it a lot easier.
Hi Wiktor, I am so excited to begin using these assets and methods in my own project, but, how would the performance cost look for an open world game i.e. much larger environments constructed almost solely from your high quality Megascans assets. Surely I would not be able to keep this level of detail consistent, regardless of the tenacity or pay grade of my content creators! I feel like I would be able to try, but perhaps as a more simple question; is there anything I should keep in mind whilst using a Megascans workflow?
any chance you guys make a tutorial on actually setting up the road with mesh decals in ue4 using the yellow or white lines in the library. It would be helpful. thanks
Hello, is there any chance to get the scene from 20:50 to the end, and make sound effects and fooley for it? I would love to show my skills. Also for other videos as well?!
Thank you for the lesson! But I still don't understand how to set up the material itself in the decal. The material that is imported from the Bridge, I do not understand how to switch the mode to "Deferred Decal" Whereas with ordinary materials there is no such problem. Please tell me how to do this?
Crazy work! One question: How about curved roads and stretching and skewing of textures especially on the sidewalks. And one idea. You can also add oil, brake trails and tar.
The script handles curves as well with minimal stretching :) Great idea for additional decals, we'll make sure to add a first batch in the next few weeks. Stay tuned.
Hi Wiktor, can you please tell me what road texture you are using because the ones i have got from Megascans are really different in colour , plus i like the look of the one in this scene. could you also link a screenshot of your material setup as when i paste in the code into the material editor i am not sure what goes where. Thankyou for your great work.
which decal is used on the side of the asphalt ? the straight one? old road decal? and will it be possible in a future version of studio to place and edit those decals? like adding liquid etc?
Can You explain how did use set up your materials? I paste the material from your link but deosnt really know how to connect it :( I can connect decal material and its working really well but I dont know how to do it with Wetness and Asphalt material.
Wiktor Öhman your nodes are connected but i dont know how to connect to it to base material node in asphalt material and what to set with it. In decal material its ok l, I can connect, set modes to transparent and its working well. Btw, do you know when your painted line decal will be available? Its very good looking and other services like poliigon dont have decal like thisl and i dont know if i will be waiting for this decal or make my own.
Very nice, these decals. But can they really be used in a game environment? I found that whenever a player pawn walks into the green "bounding box" of the decal, the decal material is projected on the pawn. Is there away around that?

can you exactly link all textures used for this road? really hard to find anything similar in megascans library except decals
The materials in the description have unspecified functions and it's hard to tell what connects where. Is there a certain way to paste it into UE4?
Same issue. Did you fix it, by any chance?
Alex Gorcea I pasted each into a website that you paste blueprints into to view them. Can't remember the name, but it's an easy google search.
BlueprintUE.com, that's the one. But I still can't figure out what collection parameter goes in to the wetness material function.
Just make one called "Wetness"
All I was watching for, was for the wet street environment, and that's the last thing you did LOL amazing though.
