Amazing tutorial! You didn't just jump in and start changing values and maps, you explained every part of what you were doing and why you were doing it. This is something that 80% or more of tutorials don't do. Very helpful! Thank you 👍

Please, consider making a tutorial about blending the Quixel textures and using masks from World Machine properly for landscape shader. I have noticed that the tutorials that are doing this kind of stuff are quite outdated and also they hardly allow you also to draw on the surface if you want to manually adjust them.
Will be glad if this will happen! It will be VERY useful!

For everyone wondering about the song used, it is a song Eoin made. Eoin is also a musician / producer who goes by the alias Noisestorm. I highly reccomend you check his music out. (Unfortunately, the song only exists for this video, and he doesn't have the file anymore).

I want a tutorial on that landscape material. That's the only thing crazy thing in this video and, ironically, the only thing not covered. You brought that landscape into the scene and it already looked godlike, whatever you did next with those assets was just bonus. But really, the landscape made the whole scene.

    Here's my review of quixel
    Sorry for my english 😂
I just started my journey with UE4 and I really like making 3d models mixing and matching different textures and making realistic scenes and etc, but starting with limited sources is frustrating but when I started with quixel (today) it was a whole new world I can create ultra realistic scenes and everything is on my fingertips thanks quixel for this amazing experience, the best thing about quixel is that almost everything there is absolutely free and high quality I am just on a laptop as I am not that rich with just a 4gb graphics card and low memory still I am able to do many things it's absolutely brilliant

Should make more videos like this, even if it's subscriber only. It's highly educational, and it encourages people to buy more scans. The tools are no good to people if they don't know how to use them, and getting good results from easy to follow steps like this, makes one want to push further and experiment with new combinations instead of just giving up.

Either a share or a full tutorial on that great material would only make people want to subscribe to megascans more so I really hope he does it. The result you get from what seems a fairly simple and low cost material with only two textures is amazing. But there are so many different tutorials on landscape materials here on youtube and they're all so different and don't give this result. It's also because of world machine being able to make great splatmaps though, have to keep that in mind. Still would love to figure out this material fully.

Alright, back again, and I think I've figured out a solution for us, boys. I think I've figured out how to make a smooth, non-tessellated, non-glossy landscape material.
Essentially, all you need is just one base color, one roughness, and one normal texture, and they usually come together with whatever texture download. But what you need to do is stack them on top of each other, but make it so that each one has a different tiling scale. That'll get ride of the tessellation and the glossiness of your landscape.
So, for example, for grass, I use 3 texture samples of the same base texture (usually an albedo) and I connect a 'multiply' node to the UV's of each, and then a 'texture coordinate' node into the 'a constant' of each of those. Make sure the 'b constants' are all different (mine are 1.0, 0.2, 0.05). Use 'add' nodes from their RGB's to blend them all together, then use another 'multiply' node just before connecting to the Base Color. The 'b constant' of this will affect how bright you want the texture (idek why, maybe something to do with the light). Do the exact same thing for the Normal and Roughness, and you should come out with something halfway decent looking, depending on the quality of the texture you downloaded.
Right, so maybe this is super basic to some people, but there's no good tutorials anywhere teaching how to do this. So, as an absolute beginner, this is the best I could come up with. If any of you more advanced fellas want to add to this, PLEASE don't hesitate. We need all the help we can get.

@@mrflyman123456789 To be very specific, for this tutorial he must have used height lerp for blending materials along with height map data based on angle. He must have exported multiple height maps with angle variation for each material variation on terrain from world machine. Even if that is the case in this tutorial, he could have explained it. It look nearly a month for me to understand this after I was stuck with tiling.

You must use the overlay blend type to combine the albedo and cavity or the texture will appear darker with multiply because cavities use middle grey values. If the value of the albedo change you have to fix the gamma of the curvature map.
