- Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing (often referred to as just Big Rigs) is a 2003 third-person racing video game developed by Stellar Stone and published by GameMill Publishing for the PC. The box for Big Rigs states that the main objective of the game is to race a semi-trailer truck "Big Rig" to safety in order to deliver illegal cargo being carried by the truck, while avoiding the police. In actuality, there are no police in the game, no such objectives are presented within the game itself and there is no load attached to the truck! Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing received extremely negative reviews when it came out. Reasons being - lack of collision detection, frequent bugs, poor visuals, and severe lack of functionality. As a result, the game is now widely regarded as one of the worst video games of all time.. and the Nerd is here to show it to you! This is Angry Videogame Nerd episode 118.

Today I learned that in Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing, the maximum speed that a truck going in reverse can attain is 12.3 Undecillion miles per hour. That's 10^36 MPH, or 18.3 Octillion times the speed of light.
At a certain point, the distance traveled as noted by the odometer changes to 1.$ and upon reaching 12.3 Undecillion MPH, the speed also changes to 1.$ and all checkpoints turn green, instantly winning the race.
Assuming the observable universe as a sphere with diameter of 92 billion lightyears, that means that this truck travelling at maximum speed could traverse the diameter of the observable universe in under 160 picoseconds. At that point, the kinetic energy contained within the truck would be equivalent to the energy released by a quasar if compressed over one hundred Nonillion years (10^32 years) of uniform production. That means that if you were hit by this truck, it would be like every atom in your body being shot with an individual supermassive black hole cannon fourteen thousand times over (fuzzy calculations there due to probable failure to transmit 100% of the energy to your body, but I have an unknown number of orders in leeway due to calculating energy by the fucking year).
I think I have a new favorite godkiller scenario. Hell, at this point I think that this truck is my new favorite superhero. Think about it: in the canon of Big Rigs, the truck (who I will from now on refer to as an anthropomorphous vehicle-themed superhero named Big Rig) has feats rivaling top-tier superheroes:
- phasing through literally any obstacle, no matter the density or size. Nothing physical can harm him.
- extreme kinetic manipulation, retaining speed no matter how quickly he alters direction, which is instantly.
- able to travel so fast that he ascends to godhood and becomes the entire universe, being everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
- able to easily withstand the forces of travel at speeds many -illions of times the speed of light and the accretion of the mass of many -illions of times the mass of supermassive black holes
- if he were to hit something, he would likely explode the entire universe out of existence
I am now officially in the Big Rig fandom. I want to read a Big Rig comic series. I would go out and buy those fucking comics. Thank you based Big Rig.

If you think about it, the camera holding up above the bridge while breaking the lock it has onto your truck as it goes under the bridge is probably the most impressive feature this game has to offer

I noticed that too. They programmed the camera to follow the road over the bridge instead of the truck.
According to Wikipedia, the truck moves so fast when in reverse it moves faster than light and instantly win the race because the truck is everywhere at the same time.

Apparently it's because at that point your speed will be so high that technically you're everywhere at once, including at the finish line.
And possibly faster than Mario with the BLJ.

Big Rigs saved my life. There was a time where I thought there was no point to going on. I was such a loser. I would have ended it all. But then one day, I found this game. I started playing. When that "You're winner" screen came up, it made me stop and think... "I'm winner? How can that be?"
It completely turned my self image around. I wasn't a loser... I was winner! This game gave me the self-esteem to keep going, and now years after I played it, I still have fond memories. Without Big Rigs, I would not be around today.
I would gladly pay $90 for this game. To me, it's worth much more than that. To me, it is priceless.

I have heard that there is music in the game, but under normal circumstances it doesn't play.

So can we talk for a second about the fact that this is a boundless world? And reverse driving actually gives you the ability to traverse it? You know what's crazy, there's another video about this game where they see the limits of speed they can go. When they crossed a certain threshold, the game ended because the RIG moved so fast that it was everywhere in the universe at once and crossed the finish line. In all honesty, scientist could craft theories and do experiments using this 'engine'.
